    • Fantastic experience. We travelled as a family of four including a 6 year old child! We all had a wonderful time and were thoroughly looked after by the hotel staff, who were all absolutely amazing.. From the front desk staff, entertainers, restaurant staff, cleaners, shop attendant and even the manager who took time to meet us. It's a fantastic hotel for kids with great activities including the kids disco every evening which our daughter loved! The food was amazing, looked forward to every meal and there was plenty variety. Nice swimming pools and the whole hotel in general is beautifully laid out in a garden setting. All guests we met at the hotel were nice and the atmosphere was peaceful and relaxed. Just an all round great experience. Honestly couldn't have asked for better! Thank you! :)
    • The choice in different pools was nice, the staff was super friendly and helpful, the gym and tennis court were both nice an clean. The fact that at each pool they had a drinks and snacks stations was super good. The room was big enough and the beds were comfortable. Only the lighting and the airco were not that great but they did their job. The pyta gyros station was amazing, very tastefull and great just that the staff only wanted to prepare it their way and where less flexible when you wanted to change something.
    • All staff very friendly and welcoming. Very clean everywhere Food was delicious. Maintenance man responded very quickly when there was an issue Close to a beach

    Cons -

    • We liked everything!
    • The food was good, but not a lot of variety. The all inclusive drinks were not good quality at all. We have stayed at other all inclusives in Crete and they were at least mixed by the bartender where as here they were all ready mix from like a package.
    • Beers weak Iced coffees not on the inclusive menu Cocktails could have been nicer

Delicious food locally sourced, excellent service friendly staff, clean, sustainability awards.? visit to Chaina is a must, such a pretty town.

    Entertainment a little limited .

    8MelaniePosted on: 7-28-2024

The staff were fantastic, the pool areas had plenty of space and kept very clean. The standout for us was the food - the quality was the best we’ve ever had with an all inclusive. The location was also great, close to local coffee shops, supermarket and tavernas and easy to get to the beach and Chania (a must visit! Busy but beautiful)

The alcohol options were poor - cocktails tasteless, watery beer and limited options of wine and spirits. No fresh mixers, everything was from a soda stream. Eg vodka orange was made with orange more like a cordial than juice. The other issue was the lack of aircon around the property, we had to keep going back to our room to cool down.

Great selection of food in defined sections so you know where to go for particular types. Self serve for soft drinks, beer and wine in the bar and restaurant which means you don't need to queue. There is also a snack and drink hut at the second pool. Pools were clean and it was fairly easy to get a sun lounger - some people did hog them from early on but there were always extras available. Staff were lovely and accommodating - we were not happy with one of our rooms as it was small. We were offered a 2 bed apartment as an alternative and it was much better. I would advise if there are 4 of you to get this rather than 2 rooms as it had 2 balconies and a roof terrace. Staff in the restaurant and bar were also lovely, as were the animation team who came round to speak to you. We were not at the main pool and did not take part in any activities but there were plenty on offer at the main pool. Lots of bars, cafes and supermarkets in the town which is only a 5 minute walk away. 10-15 min walk to the nearest beach and there are several to choose from as you go along the coast. Loads of car hire places. We got the bus to Chania which is absolutely beautiful. It left from near the BMW garage on the main street and was 1.20 per person. My husband and sons used the gym and said it was good for a weights workout.

I am happy with most wines but the wine wasn't the greatest and it was never cold. I always had to get a cup of ice and add it to the wine. Drank beer most of the time because of this. Very limited selection of cocktails included in the All Inclusive, which seems strange. All Inclusive finished at 11pm even though the bar did not close at this time - this is also a strange decision. Hotel details mention 2 restaurants - there is only 1 and a snack bar which serves gyros, chips, hot dogs etc.

All inclusive (foods & drinks) was well planned and well organized. Good options for vegetarians too. Staff was friendly. Pools were nice for kids and adults with different dephts available.Half of the family enjoyed the evening programs. :)

I would have preferred even more variability in fruits. (And real fruit juices)

My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Althea Village for a two-week vacation, and it was undoubtedly a truly memorable experience. This charming hotel ticked all the right boxes, and here's why:Comfortable and Spacious Rooms: Our hotel room at Althea Village was not only nice but also quite spacious. This provided ample room for us to move around, even with kids in tow. The well-appointed room was tastefully decorated and impressively clean.Exceptional Staff: The staff at Althea Village were simply lovely. From the moment we checked in, they went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. Their warm and friendly demeanor made our stay even more enjoyable.Culinary Delights: The food at the hotel's restaurant was a culinary delight. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of dishes available, catering to a wide range of tastes. The quality of the food was excellent, and we looked forward to every meal.Homely Atmosphere: Althea Village exuded a homely feeling that made our stay truly special. It felt like we were staying with friends rather than in a hotel. The welcoming ambiance added a personal touch to our two-week vacation, and everything was immaculately clean.Kids-Friendly Amenities: For families with children, this hotel is a haven. They offered a range of activities and amenities tailored to keep kids entertained and engaged. Our children had a blast, and it allowed my spouse and me to enjoy some quality downtime.Attentive Staff with a Heart for Kids: Not only did Althea Village provide kids' activities, but the staff were also exceptional with our children. They interacted with them, ensured their safety, and genuinely cared for their well-being. This made our two-week stay as parents even more relaxing.

    All was Great!

Nice clean modern hotel. The location is great for access to shops and bars. The bar man and reception staff were all amazing. They all go out of their way for you.

Pool area especially the bathrooms could be cleaned more in the day as the floor tends to get wet.

Service was excent and the food was quite ok. If you take all-inclusive option you do not have to worry about anything

The room was very noisy in the night - the hotel consist of several parts and our was from the side of the street. If you can, then take a room in the main part.

    10PiersPosted on: 8-14-2023

A variety of lovely clean pools. Rooms were spacious and clean with two separate sofa beds for our two children. Big variety of food available at each meal and from the daytime snack bar.

Not much we didn't like. Cocktails were a little sweet.

    9StevenPosted on: 8-2-2023

The staff where fantastic! The animation team was super with Filippo, Ines, Sophia and Elena all doing a fantastic job throughout the day and evening. The place was clean and kept in excellent condition. It shows that the management team cares about the place and about giving the best experience to the guests.

Drinks could have been better. Maybe an option of food for after dinner hours would also be great.

Wow. Everything was amazing. From the huge two bedroom, two showers and huge balcony apartment, to the excellent tasty food choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner (and the snacks with the gyros option), to the amazing animation team who my kids just fell in love with during our stay. No wonder the hotel is rated above 9.I do not understand the people that complain about the food. Don't believe them. Each bite i took from any dish i took on my plate was perfect

Nothing! Not that i didn't like it, but just know the closest beach is a 15 minutes easy walk (or by car cause there is plenty of parking space there and a kids playground). Also you pass a Lidl and a huge amazing local supermarket on the way

    8MartinPosted on: 10-24-2022

The staff very friendly and helpful. food was ok and very clean everywhere - choice of 3 pools too.

The drinks were a bit hit and miss and they charged extra for certain brands and cocktails. location was a bit too far from Chania Town and needed buses or taxi.

    10EvgenyPosted on: 8-13-2022

Everything was perfect. Small problems were handled immidiately by the staff with the direct involvement of Stavros, the hotel manager. Everyone were very helful with every question we had.We arrived at midnight and food and drinks were waiting for us. The animation team was great and there were activities for kids and adults diring the day and evening time. The pools were not not crowded although we were staying during the peak of the summer vacation time.Everyday the restaurant served different food. There were all kind of drinks available during the whole day.

No complaints, but just a suggestion. As the hotel is located relatively far from the beach and the city, would suggest to add a shuttle service to the beach and Chania center. This would add significantly to the experience (although there is a bus station about 7-10 minutes walk from the hotel)

    9RagnarsdottirPosted on: 7-21-2022

Hospitality of the staff and activities during the day. Good wifi in the room as well as by the pool.

    The bed wasn’t comfortable

    8ElenaPosted on: 6-10-2022

Restaurant. Amazing food compare to my previous and post experience. I had all inclusive. Couldnt stop eating. Mr. Nikos, restaurant manager, Artemis, Elena, Stavros are wonderful people. In general, great stuff and great people! Gteat cooks! Fresh food. Gteat coffe machine! Loved deserts and main dishes Great garden with roses cover hotel area. Its very clean. I would extend the stay for a few more days.Hotel has a lot of pools.. I've met a lot of interesting and wonderful people from all over the world from different age groups and socium. Evi was very nice to accomodate me with a nice room.Evening performance was quite entertaining and well.A place great to relax.I got a great room on the last floor with the view, balkony, great bathroom and shower, comfortable bed, lots of towels.I liked the gym. It was ok for self maintainenceIf you have any questions its best to address them before 4pm

Once the door to my room was unlocked as if someone entered the premisses while I was out. Nothing was missing. Pretended nothing happened. Trusted the cameras covering the premisses.Wanted to extend the stay for a few more days. Was promissed with room, but didnt workout. Was offered another solution i found less acceptable. Wouldnt book that flight ticket for another date if i knew and didnt trust the promise. Had to spend the night looking for a new place. Thank god found something awkward at the last minute.

    Nothing to dislike

food, pools, personnel, entertainment.we got different room than originally reserved, more suitable for teenager traveller ☺️ more space. Thank you for that

bit far from beach but we knew that when made reservation

    10HelenPosted on: 5-16-2022

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing. I would recommend going all inclusive, you get all meals, snacks during the day, cocktails, ice cream and they even gave us packed lunches if we were away for the day. My partner is vegan and the restaurant manager showed her personally what she could eat and they labelled everything well. Our room was very spacious, clean and had air con. We felt very spoiled and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. For the price we paid it was a bargain!

My only slight criticism is the music by the main pool is a little loud but you can always go to one of the other two smaller pools so not a big issue.
