    • All the drains were clogged.

Great location 5 min walk to the ferry. Staff very communicative and helpful. I stayed in a private room which had a view of the water, very reasonably priced, quiet, clean. No issues checking in late when my flight was delayed. The common area is great for getting work done, fast WiFi throughout and they have nice pasties and good coffee in the morning This was a great find, I was glad it was available for the night I needed it as it seems to be mostly booked up

Location, comfort of room and common areas space + facilities. Unexpected morning pastries.

It is in the centre of town that you can walk everywhere. The natural pools and the ferry are a very quick walk. You have a view of Faial and you can see the sunset every evening. A treat is the breakfast they layout every morning

We loved it all. Only suggestion is if there was a drying rack for towels and wet clothes after the swimming

It is more a hotel (or guesthouse) than a hostel: I got a double room (without sharing it with another person) with an own bath, for the price of a half double room. So simply excellent for a short stay. There is also a fully equipped kitchen with some free coffee and tea.

The only complication was the check-in. I had not got any messages from the hostel here and as I came there (in the late afternoon = common check-in time), there was noone, the door was closed and the phone number on my booking confirmation was not answered. Fortunately there was another phone number visible beyond the glass door, which was the right one. But my door opening card did not work - well, I got a substitute one, but everything via the phone and because I tried it immediately.

The view and location is excellent. Beds are comfortable and everything is clean. Communication is very easy and friendly.

    Nothing to add

We loved the location, it was close to everything, it looks like the place has been renovated recently.

We booked a room for 3 days. We got the room late and they didn't pay attention to our check-in request, there was a lack of staff, it wasn't clean enough, the room had a strange smell of metal, the air conditioner gave off a terrible smell, there was a blockage in the shower. On the last day of the stay they sent a message confirming our check-in request and it was no longer relevant.

WARNING. NOT HONEST STAFF. SCARY SITUATION. IT'S NOT A DORMITORY EXPERIENCE

I escaped this place today. I had a choc last night. I went back to my room around 11.30 PM and I found a man in this 2 beds tiny room. On the morning I met the woman, member of the staff, she didn't warn me someone will share my room. She knew me since 4 days that i was already staying. Later by chance, i met the other person from the staff and he told me that someone will share the 2 bed room with me. And he even asked me if his colleague said it to me. Obviously, i said 'no, i was not warned'. So something started wrong yesterday. I met this woman many times in the morning. I even asked her to advice me for the laundry. You can imagine that when you go back in the night, in a tiny 2 bed room and finally disco discover you are going to share the room with a man without knowing it it was a choc. There is like half meter between the 2 beds. My 1st sharing was with a woman and we shared about this subject. Even with a woman it's too tiny to share.I chose a dormitory room. I was not. And after that i have to share it with a man. I spoke with 4 women this morning, no one would slept in this situation. My solution was to quit the bedroom with all my belongings and the matress and two women offered to put in their 2 bedroom. The woman of the staff told me how could she knows i'm a woman. It was 4 days i was in this hostel. We spoke together so many times. Next, she told me how i know a man is coming. She was not honest to say that. She didn't apologize. For her it was a normal situation.IT WAS THE MOST HORRIBLE SITUATION AFTER 20 YEARS OF USING HOSTELS.By the way, it's not a clean place. They do the minimum cleaning. One last thing, this morning after quitting the hostel, i had a message from booking.com to check if i stayed and if i paid the hostel. Of course i stayed and pais. So it means the hostel tried to cancel my stay that i could not make my commentary ont the website.

Close to the port. Beds are comfortable and clean.

I would prefer a buckbed. Two beds close together is a bit intimate. But I just had a roommate for 1 night so it was oke?.

    8RomanPosted on: 9-19-2024

Easy check in and access. Very central an near to everything (port, bus, shops, restaurants)

The cleaning could be done a bit more often (but for a hostel it's ok).

Location is great, close to the port and the city centre.

Room was not cleaned when we arrived and was not cleaned during our stay. The common areas were dirty too. Personal is absent except for check out and their actitude is condescendent. Worst hotel of our trip to Azores (and the more expensive too).

Loved the location, our room was big, clean and comfortable. Excellent value for money.

The structure is beautiful and facing the port, so close to all the activities and has a beautiful view. The room was large, new and very clean. We recommend it!

very friendly and helpful staff. The room is not big but cozy. The lounge room and the kitchen are spacious and well furnished.Great location, close by the ferry to the other islands. walking distance from the main beaches.

Right in Madalena close to everything. Staff were helpful

Cleaning was done so so when we requested it.Reception is only open for some hours when we arrived our keys were left on the reception desk and we had the instructions to enter but I don’t find it as a very secure practice.

    9JazlynPosted on: 8-2-2024

Location is tops, very close to the Harbour and town as well as the dive shops. I also like the fact that there are dorm rooms with just 2 beds. Also, Luis who’s in charged of the property is very kind and gave me a lot of tips and recco.

the air-con can be a bit more powerful, this is personal preference as I like my AC to be really cold at 22 degrees Celsius.

Very good location, few steps from the marina. Nice ice-cream place opposite the hotel :) Car rental, whale watching and diving tours nearby.
