    Pros +

    • The restaurant was excellent. The pool and deck were lovley.
    • Charming rooms, beautiful pool, nice breakfast
    • We truly cannot say enough nice things about this hotel. It is rustic, charming and beautiful. We loved the pool area. The gardens remind me of the Italian countryside. Perfect location to everything and easy to walk from the port. Our favorite part was the staff though, they were fantastic! Especially the restaurant crew. The included breakfast is beyond— not only delicious but VERY beautifully displayed.

    Cons -

    • There was no mention that the room would be 2 stories, with the bath on the ground floor and the bed area upstairs, Also the top of the stairs were not protected with full bannisters, so a real fall hazard. People looking to reserve should have more info, especially those with mobility issues.
    • Bathroom a little tired (low water pressure in the shower). The room safe required a lot of key-jiggling and time to get it open.
    • The pool was very cold!!!

Really charming hotel in beautiful hydra. Location is very central, one of the only hotel with a pool I think. The history of the place adds a nice element to the journey. We loved it. Breakfast in the morning was excellent and plentiful.

Excellent location, beautiful building, great staff and a swimming pool. Room with lots of character and big, comfortable bed. Good breakfast and poolside service. Staff very helpful with excursions, restaurants etc. We will definitely return when we are on Hydra next.

Bathroom a little tired (low water pressure in the shower). The room safe required a lot of key-jiggling and time to get it open.

The building is outstanding. What an amazing conversion. Beautiful in all aspects. Exceptional breakfast

Our room was a little small, though lovely. A teeny bit noisy when other guests were walking past our door.

Best location on the island, 4 mins walk from ferry port and smack bang in the town. Free water topped up daily. Breakfast was fantastic, and served until nice and late (loved the Greek yoghurt and fresh orange juice), loved the old-world feel of the hotel and the character of the rooms. A special shout out to the GM, who (after me emailing worried about the firm beds) put a lot of pillows and a softer mattress topper on the bed :)

Nowhere to hang clothes, no shelves or drawers for clothes, no coffee machine in room (only instant sachets), very small bathroom, what you get for the price you pay. This hotel must make a killing, and I get it takes a lot to maintain but t's hard to see the investment into it. Some small touches would really elevate it and leave all guests feeling like they got their money's worth. But anyway, we loved the character of it all. We'd recommend booking one above entry, if you can, to get a room all on one level. We had a split and didn't mind, but it makes the downstairs dressing/bathroom space tiny. The entry level rooms would be just moved around a little to have a chest of drawers or shelves, a bigger wardrobe, coffee machine, etc - little touches.

Bratsera is a nice hotel located 5 minutes away from the port, which gives you easy access to almost anything. If you have big luggage, I would recommend a place closer to the port. The breakfast they have is super delicious and the design of the hotel is unique. Located in an old typical building, it has maintained all the antique details. We really loved that! And the staff were always helpful and kind.We came for our friend's wedding and stayed for 5 nights to take in the island, which is gorgeous. To be honest, I wouldn't choose Bratsera again only because their prices are insane and it's not a fair deal. The only explanation I have found for their fares is the fact that it is the only hotel on the island with a pool. We didn't use it once, the sea is great and their beaches quite special. So bear in mind that and choose wisely!

The old touches are nice but some things should be improved or changed. The cold water tap of the sink, in the bathroom was so old it came down three times and we had to put it back. You have a hot water button in the room to switch it on/off (for the RV's enthusiasts, we can tell you it brings back memories). If you needed something to be washed or ironed, these services were possible only for an extra charge which I found unfair. When you pay more than 300 euros per night, I think you are allowed to have some expectations.

The staff and general facilities are lovely but my room, for the price was small, dark and disappointing.I'd seen photos of fabulous room online and could see they have some but mine was sadly lacking.

Just my room could have been better.

    The setting, pool and location.

The air-con in one of the rooms that was split level didn’t cool the room enough.

    9MikaelPosted on: 8-8-2024

The staff was great. After a few days they knew where we liked to sit at breakfast and what kind of coffee we wanted, so they had it ready for us. And the location is perfect, very private but still right next to everything.

Not the hotel's fault by any means, but we hadn't expected so many families with children, so it was quite noisy by the pool at times. And the room was perhaps a tad more basic than we imagined.

    Historical building, pool, nice staff

Adaptive reuse of sponge factory. Lovely courtyard & swimming pool. Nice restaurant. Friendly staff. Terrific location. Quirkiness.

Not suitable for anyone with impaired mobility. Lack of outlets in room. Iffy wi-fi.

We loved our stay at the centrally located Bratsera Boutique Hotel and will stay here again without question. The staff couldn't have been more helpful; breakfast was a real treat, and the atmosphere around the whole hotel was friendly and relaxed. The pool was just an added bonus.

At times the Wi-Fi wasn't the best during our stay.

Fantastic, spacious and cool room (in 35c heat). Staff very friendly and allowed us to use the pool while waiting for check-in. A true oasis of calm right in the centre of Hydra town, and a rare find with no stairs to get to the property!

Although very tasty, lunch was a little on the expensive side.

Liked the atmosphere, the serenity, the history and architectural attitude.

Small things like some finishes. In my view they need to be upgraded. I have passed my comments on to the owner.

    8RodgersPosted on: 5-18-2024

Excellent pool and gorgeous spaces with a sense of the history of the hotel.

The mezzanine style can be difficult for anyone with mobility issues.

    6AthanasiosPosted on: 5-15-2024

Great location, good vibes. Great breakfast, the building and common areas are a great representation of the history of the island

Awful mattress and pillows, probably the worst I have ever slept in my life. They are not investing a single penny in the hotel. When we told them, they showed us another room, which had exactly the same issues!
