About

Apollonion Palace Hotel is housed in a historic 19th century building, overlooking the Bay of Ag. Nicholas in the Vaporia area, close to the port of Ermoupolis and Miaouli Square. Rooms and suites are beautifully decorated in a classic style. Some include private spa bath and offer views of the city streets or the sea. Guests can enjoy dining on the large terrace located on the east side of the building or head to the smaller terrace with access to the sea. Pros +

    • The homely atmosphere, amenities, and the amicable professionalism of the staff. Gorgeous accommodation and views...
    • It was the highlight of our trip. We went to 3 islands and Syros was by far our favorite and this hotel was top of the list. If you’re like me and reading through reviews trying to determine where to go, this is a place you want to stay. Syros deserves at least 5 days in your itinerary and the Palace is perfectly located to truly get a feel for the island. It’s clean and comfortable and so full of charm. The pleasant people that work here are out of this world. Wonderful, kind, hospitable and friendly people. I can’t praise this stay enough. We loved it here and were very sad to leave.
    • AMAZING LOCATION!! Beautiful breakfast. Amazing font desk hosts. Access to the beautiful waters of Syros. Everything was a dream

    Cons -

    • The bathroom drain...
    • Loved it all.
    • Pity that no hotel parking is available but you have to park on the street (not allowed in theory) if you find room.

Staff is very kind. Breakfast is very good and rich, mostly fixed but with a dish of the day included, for a reasonable price.

Pity that no hotel parking is available but you have to park on the street (not allowed in theory) if you find room.

The location was amazing and the view stunning. Spyros, Sofia and Sofia made our trip exceptionally memorable with their kindness, warmth and all their helpful suggestions for places to visit, swim and eat. When we first arrived at the hotel, Spyros told us, “for the time you are staying here, this is your home and we are your family “.

The location and the view from its terrace The historic building

The view from 401 (basically kept the window closed) The whole deco looks stuck in the 90s (guess no refurbishment since then)

Great location away from the crowds and very attractive area. Still very convenient for everything. Excellent staff who were very friendly and professional. Fabulous views from our room - loved the purple walls!

    9CHARLESPosted on: 9-24-2024

The only issue was that we thought breakfast was included. It cost like $30 and wasnt even breakfast it was just a lot of different types of breads. The latte was really good. If you stay just get the coffee and go out into town very inexpensive for a egg sandwich.

    10DianePosted on: 9-23-2024

It was beautifully restored and right on the edge of the sea, with a roof top lounge and sun bathing area, access to swimming pools. The rooms were lovely, very spacious, I recommend the sea view. The breakfast choices were delicious and you could order items separately which was nice.

There was nothing I did not like.

    7DeepikaPosted on: 9-18-2024

It’s beautiful! The fact that I could walk to the sea if I wanted to swim, was great! The staff was very polite, especially Anna - the Front Office Manager

Some of the equipment is quite old - ac didn’t work in my room the first night; hair dryer didn’t work either.

    10AndrePosted on: 9-12-2024

Location, amazing staff, comfortable room, good facilities.

Booking.com advertises all rooms with a sea room which is not the case.

    10MelaniePosted on: 9-4-2024

The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The view on the terrace was lovely. It was so nice to walk straight down to the ocean from the hotel.

    9DykesPosted on: 7-9-2024

A lovely family-run hotel. Great location on the cliff line and really easy to get around the city. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, which played a big part in what made our first visit to Syros, Ermoupolis and Ano Syros such a special experience

Some of the bathroom fixtures and fitting could do with an upgrade but that is largely cosmetic - everything still worked well, especially the hot water :)

    10SleepyduckPosted on: 6-29-2024

Amazing location, beautiful building, super quiet, great communal terrace, direct access to the sea, superb customer (Anna is a star!).

    10DavidPosted on: 6-23-2024

Great location , pristinely clean , right on the water, wonderful people

    Liked everything.

Beautifully restored hotel with private beach, walking distance to shops, restaurants and the attractions.Exceptional staff that make you fell at home.Amazing stay and will be back asap.

    We had to leave.

    Bad

Felt like I was staying in the owners living room. The facilities are very old and in even worse condition then pictured, this is not 5 stars. Could not even close the bathroom door for our entire stay - ridiculous. Shower head was loose and broke, went to talk to the reception- no one was there so went to breakfast. Came back and was met by two incredibly rude from staff (man and woman) who was accusing us and looked at us like we had ruined the entire place. Read more reviews and saw a lot of people have had issues with the shower. Very surprised this place has such high reviews I would never go back even if I got paid. Have stayed at other places on the island that are far better value for money

    Location, staff

160cm double bed, outdated TV and furnitures

    10JonnyPosted on: 7-31-2023

The staff are wonderful. The view from the terrace is spectacular and it has easy access to the beach.

The shower in the single room was a bit tight.

    9GregoryPosted on: 7-29-2023

Staff were super friendly and helpful. Room was incredibly quiet and a rare Greek island hotel with a mini-bar. Syros is an interesting m-hyped gem and this hotel is in a perfect location for it.
