- One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen! The chateau is beautiful and charming and the library was our very favorite!!! The grounds were stunning, the gardens, the chapel, the flowers!!! The woods and the underground caverns were so cool!
- Historical building in a great natural setting. We walked the park, enjoyed the fireplace in the great room. Restaurant with a fixed menu was great.
- Charming chateau, friendly helpful staff, beautiful grounds and dahlia garden.
Cons -
- In our rooms there was absolutely no wifi, could not make a call and my texts would not go through. This was a very expensive place to stay and for that price they should have wifi. They made a joke about it being 20 years old. They need and can put the money in to get new and better wifi. The breakfast we just had once. It was expensive for how very little you get and we had to wait a long time, very disappointing. The place really was magical besides this!
- Rooms are a little faded and need an update. But this did not distract from the overall experience...
- Internet/WiFi was exceptionally slow at only 300Kbps.

Charming chateau, friendly helpful staff, beautiful grounds and dahlia garden.
Internet/WiFi was exceptionally slow at only 300Kbps.
It is a wonderful chateau, located very comfortably to visit the places of interest. It is pet friendly, and has a beautiful forest in the territory
We stayed for 2 nights. The restaurant was closed for 1 night, and for tge second night they had only fish. We had to travel by car to another restaurant. But the main disappointment is breakfast. For the price of 17 euros you do not get any cheese, eggs or meat. It is just a big bowl of different bread. You can get an egg for an extra 4 euros, for extra 2 euros you can get bacon for your egg. And you do not have a choice, as there are no restaurants nearby.
Beautiful chateau and grounds.Spacious room with beams. Large, updated bathroom.
The room decor could have been better and more historic. The brown toille wallpaper was pretty ugly. Staff was just a bit on the snobby side.
The garden, the woods, the art interventions, and a spacious room with a great view
Great breakfast, beautiful setting and amazing property generally. We had dinner and lunch at castle in the "Bar à tomates" and it was simple, very good and beautiful
Truly magnificent and beautiful château. Its history, tradition, mode of joie de vivre were evident everywhere in the château. The room was authentic château style with modern comfort. The views from the windows were breathtaking. It was a memorable stay. The staff could not be more helpful and courteous. We are returning for a longer stay!
Everything was beautiful, the building, the decoration, the location, the gardens, the serenity!Breakfast was very good and we really enjoyed cycling in the woods with the bicycles we rented on site.
The rooms can be warm in a hot summer day. Of course we did not expect to find A/C in the chateau, but the problem was that we could not open the windows because of the mosquitos. An insect repellent device in every room would be very useful.
Over all it was nice property and staff was good. But I found difficulty in walking to my room which was long way from the ground floor and it produce crack sound all the way when in walk in to my room and you feel tired while walking to your room. It could have been better if the walking is less with all your bags . Remember that there was no air conditioning so you feel like warm in summer. It will be nice if you spend time there the money you are paying. For just staying a night , you don’t need this.
Room was in the pavillion and was very nice, upstairs with a nice view of the front of the property, The grounds are lovely and there are many caves and underground passages to explore too.
The dinner service and wine selection was sub par for such a grand place. Food was ok. The bathroom was huge and great, but the shower head was on the tub and did not have any hooks on the wall to hold it up and there was no shower curtain around the tub, so difficult to not get water every where and difficult to take a shower one handed.
This is easily one of the coolest places I have stayed. The chateau itself is nice, but the grounds and gardens (and the Derolle exhibits, which are not mentioned on this site at all!) really made it special. We spent hours explirng and it was such a treat to have that unexpected aspect. Rooms were big (we have the 2bd/2ba apartment) Dinner and breakfasts were very good, staff was very hospitible. Would stay again in a heartbeat- esp in September when they do the tomato festival!
I found the breakfast to not be worth $16, but it was good quality. The rooms do not have air conditioning, which wouldn't be great in the heat of summer! There were also many mosquitoes, not that that's the property's fault. Also the rooms don't have a fridge or anything, which I normally wouldn't complain about but when you're out in the middle of nowhere it would be nice to at elast have a common fridge on the floor to keep milk etc.
Absolutely loved my stay at Château de la Bourdaisière! The place is full of charm, the gardens are stunning, and the whole atmosphere is so peaceful. The staff were really friendly, the food was fresh and delicious, and my room had beautiful views. Meeting the “prince gardener” was the cherry on top — such a cool experience! Can’t wait to come back.
The place looked amazing, really well decorated and very peaceful. We enjoyed our stay here, and were positively surprised to see a garden festival happening during our stay!
Because of the garden festival, the restaurant at the accommodation was closed. Unfortunately, because we learned last minute and because of the Easter weekend, it wasn't easy to find dinner places around the hotel available...
Loved staying in a historical location. Service was good, hotel was like going back in time, beds were good, beautiful property. You will need a car
Poor wifi
Fab, will come again. The installations in the woods were amazing as too was our room in the Pavilio
The outside lighting
Nice location
Breakfast extra for bread, fruit, tea. Small staff tried hard, but tea cold. Dinner was nicely served, but very average food
The property and view of the Chateau were very impressive.
The rooms and furnishings felt a bit in need of refurbishment.
Loved the chateau , its interior and surroundings
Guests need to be aware restaurant run in an erratic way in the evenings. Our first night they had a group of 35 so a no choice menu of starter, main and dessert was all that was on offer. Our 2nd night the restaurant was closed in the evening!!! Fortunately we had a car so were able to dine both nights at the very pleasant Montloire restaurant in Montlouis Sur Loire a couple of miles away.
Location nostálgic features, ample rooms , great bathroom
No elevator in the side building , no real shower in the bath room
