Pros +
- Very good location with a private area to park your car. The view from our window at sunrise was beautiful.
- Overall, a comfortable place to stay while sightseeing Montalcino. It is a hotel, so it is manned during most of the day. The location is excellent for views and parking (which you can reserve and keeps you out of the ZTL). The staff was very helpful.
- The location of the property is very convenient. You can walk out and within two minutes is where the restaurants and shops, etc. are the ladies at the reception are the warmest, most hospitable front staff .They were very helpful. They were very social and very Cordial at the same time.
Cons -
- The walls were quite thin, noise really travelled. The breakfast was mediocre
- During my second stay, the room was much better than my first stay.

The staff was warm and friendly. They helped us with dinner reservations and directed where to find things in the village. The location could not be better. We shall return. Thank you!
Excellent service, Elisa was super nice and helpful. Kind staff and great facilities. Room was comfortable. Beautiful garden view and breakfast patio where you can see the whole valley.
Great location, just a short walk into town. Beautiful hotel with a fantastic staff. Breakfast was good with a great cappuccino.
It was perfect.
Dream-like views of the Tuscan countryside from the bedroom of this charming hotel in a great location at the edge of the historic center of Montalcino. We loved the lawn and lounge chairs that also looked out to the stunning view. Private parking was an added bonus. Clean, quiet, lovely. The best part of our visit to Montalcino was this hotel.
Amazing stay at Hotel Vecchia Oliviera. Great location, great service and awesome views. The hosts, Elise and Eleonora were so gracious and so welcoming. Highly recommend.
Very nice stay in this hotel, with very friendly hostess.Beautifull view from the breakfast terrace over the Toscany country.Location close to the center and easy to find.
Amazing staff, brilliant location, amazing views!
Property was clean and nice. The staff was awesome. They were very welcoming and always willing to help.
We booked two rooms as were party of 4. One of the room AC didn’t work as well. It was more or less running fan. The cold air wasn’t blowing as much. We did notify the front desk and they tried to change settings but that didn’t help. They said it’s because of two windows in the room but I bed to differ on that. The AC in that room definitely needs to be looked into.
From the moment we walked in Elisa greeted us and we knew it was going to be a great stay. The next morning we had Eleanor who looked after us. They were both Wonderful and the hotel and breakfast was great.
Everything was perfect!
This was my second time staying here. The room is comfy and my view of the countryside was lovely. The staff were super helpful. And having private parking on site is really great. But the best thing is breakfast. You can choose to have it on the terrazza which is built into the 13 century walls and has stunning views.
We loved everything. The customer service was exceptional. Super friendly welcome. Always happy to help. Room was fantastic with amazing views (number 8). Breakfast excellent. There is nothing negative to say. Thank you so much. We cannot recommend Hotel Vecchia enough.
Charmingly furnished hotel with panoramic views from the room and balconies. Friendly staff.
The location in the booking was misleading for me. It is very easy to find it at the first U turn from which you can enter the old town. There is a Y shaped crossroad and the hotel is on the right
Very nice hotel, good location, close to the center, where you can find lot of wine bars. Staff were very nice and proffesional. They gave us lot of useful informations.
The location was perfect. Right as you entered Montalcino. You could walk from the hotel into the town easily. The view from the hotel was absolutely beautiful! Especially eating breakfast on the veranda. The breakfast was excellent. Fresh cut up fruit salad, homemade cakes etc. Very nice. Air conditioning in the rooms was a plus.
Can't think of anything negative.
We pretty much liked everything. It was great, that we could park right nexxt to the hotel in a private (outdoor) car park. The staff was great, we were warmly welcomed, and assisted with our luggage, and we also received help with dinner reservation and a fantastic concert recommendation in the fort. The room was spacious, with views over the Tuscan landscape. The poolm is small but is more than enough to cool down after some sunbathing and relaxing in the garden - which also come with a view + bar service (ice cold prosecco served in a very stylish little bucket). Everything was lovely, breakfast is plenty and tasty, coffee is also great.
Not a thing.
Gorgeous view, comfortable spacious rooms, incredibly nice staff and we particularly loved the towels
The we couldn't spend the rest of our lives there
This place is wonderful! We absolutely loved it! The staff are INCREDIBLE! The property is lovely! The breakfast is really nice and it's in a great location.
The WiFi didn't really work - the first few days there was none whatsoever in the room nor outdoor areas. Other times the WiFi was weak and slow. The pool closes far too early - 7 pm in the summer doesn't make sense. Many of the views would be fantastic but have poor design - high window ledges, high balcony walls, high hedges in pool area, etc. The housekeeping came even when I put up the tag on the door saying I didn't want service, turned off the AC every time (it was over 100°F for our stay), and replaced the towels we had hanging to keep.
