    • The staff of this hotel provide unrivaled personal attention. The setting is fabulous with an unforgetable view. The breakfast and French style food in the evening were thoroughly enjoyable. And the pool overlooking everthing is good for a dip.
    • The property was truly a dream—without a doubt one of the highlights of my 10-day trip through Spain. After hopping between hotels and hostels, I was craving something different: a place that felt local, comfortable, and cozy. That’s exactly why my daughter and I chose this spot, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.Perched high in the mountains, the location rewards you with breathtaking views of Granada—both day and night. We snapped countless photos of the city throughout our stay. Visiting in late September was ideal, but I can only imagine how magical it must look in winter, curled up by the huge fireplace downstairs with a cup of hot cocoa. If you need inspiration, check out their Instagram; they post photos of the property year-round, and it’s stunning in every season. This property is located near the Sierra Nevada National Park, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers. Whether you enjoy walking, biking, or hiking, it’s a perfect base for outdoor adventures. And if hiking isn’t your thing, you can still enjoy the peaceful surroundings, fresh mountain air, and incredible views right from the property. The experience was made even better by the people. We had the chance to chat with the owner and staff, all of whom were incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. They made sure our room was spotless each day and always provided fresh towels. And then—there were the dogs! For us, animal lovers, the pups made our stay extra special. Between the views and the furry friends, this property is simply unforgettable.A 10/10 experience that I will never forget and will definitely come back to. Maybe, I’ll go during the winter time.
    • Exceptional experience. Beautiful hotel, super cozy rooms, and a proprietor who goes above and beyond with every aspect of your stay. Highly highly recommended if you are in the area to see Granada or for the snow in Sierra Nevada.

    Cons -

    • You do have to drive a bit more to get there. You have to have a car.
    • No complains. Everything is great.
    • Shame local restaurants were not open

Honestly the best place we have stayed at. The view is amazing. Staff is super friendly and both the breakfast and dinner are delicious. There's plenty of nature in the area for hiking and driving down to Granada is also a short drive. Perfect hub to do some hiking and visiting Granada

Everything about this hotel is perfect! The staff (including the dogs) are super friendly, the food is delicious, and the decor is pleasing to the eye, think old world Spain!

We loved this small hotel - beautiful view from our room, lovely hosts, comfortable bed. The breakfast and dinner we had there were really good. It was a nice change from our city break in Granada. Lovely dogs too!

The bathroom was quite open to the rest of the room - not a problem for us but not much privacy!

    10FelipePosted on: 2-26-2025

Everything is well cared the staffs are really friendly and worth every minute, we did some hiking in the area and just wanted to disconnect and enjoy nature with comfort. The dinner at the hotel is also great, will keep in our memory and return soon, thank you !!

El Balcon de las Nieves is a truly special hotel. Nestled in the mountains, it is a peaceful sanctuary filled with outstanding, friendly staff and an exceptional restaurant. It felt like our own personal luxury resort.

    No complaints!

The location is good with lovely views over the mountains and Granada. Parking is on street but ok. The receptionist was pleasant, welcoming and helpful. The room was a good size and the bed very comfortable and massive. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The balcony was great with stunning views. The shower room behind the bed was roomy and modern.

Maintenance is an issue in this hotel. We booked a junior suite but found the toilet seat broken and the basket chair on the balcony was old and broken making it very uncomfortable. The advertised fridge was missing and I had to ask for the coffee maker. The staff were very apologetic and moved us to another room which was much nicer. The shower tray was very slow to drain flooding onto the floor. The plants on the balcony needed to be cut back as we had to move them aside to be able to sit down. The evening meal was disappointing as it was cold and greasy as the only member of staff on duty had to leave cooking/serving us in the restaurant to check in new guests. Staff were very apologetic and we were not charged for it. Check the cost of the evening meal before ordering as rather than the advertised 3 course price, each option is priced individually.

Lovely location in a small village in the hills overlooking Granada and in the Sierra Nevada National Park so a great base for hiking etc. Lovely view from room which had everything you need. Great breakfast. Nice log fire in the restaurant. Nice looking little pool on the terrace. Super friendly hosts with their lovely dogs and some surprise other pets! Easy parking outside the door. Would definitely go back in future.

We stayed in December which is clearly the quiet time (perhaps one or two other couples staying). Restaurant was open but with a small menu that didn't change the two nights we were there and opened just for us. Moorish Pastillo was and soup was lovely but

From the moment I stepped into this hotel, I felt an instant warmth and comfort, like I was walking into my own home. The atmosphere is cozy, with a crackling fireplace that immediately sets the tone for a relaxing stay. The inviting ambiance was made even better by the presence of friendly dogs, who added a touch of homely charm to the experience. The staff went above and beyond, offering excellent service with a personal touch that made me feel truly cared for. Whether it was a warm greeting or thoughtful recommendations for local attractions, every interaction made me feel like I was among friends rather than just another guest. This hotel doesn’t just offer a place to stay; it offers an experience that makes you feel like you’re part of the family. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a getaway that feels like a warm embrace

The swimming pool was, of course, not functioning due to the weather, but it had dead leaves inside, which slightly diminished the overall cleanness of the area. We had to take photos of everywhere of the property. It is an amazing place to relax.

Thank you Pedro and his team, we loved our stay with you. The hotel was lovely, very relaxing and calm, in a quiet location. Breakfast was fresh with plenty of options and the evening meals were amazing, perfectly presented and were very tasty. The view from our room was towards Granada, which lit up at night, to offer panoramic views.

All aspects of our stay were excellent!

    10IrisPosted on: 10-17-2024

We loved everything The room was perfect and the whole house is more than charming. Pedro the owner was the most hospitable and friendly Contributing to the lovely experience are the beautiful golden retrievers, his bunnies and also klementina the turtle. His staff is great as well in every way- caring for all details, and all with a big smile. The recommendations as to hikes (Pedro) and restaurants around ( Natasha and her colleague) were perfect.

They call this hotel home from home and the moment you walk in you can see why. The atmosphere is just fantastic, the staff, the rooms, the food and the views are all just amazing. I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. If you are looking for somewhere to stay for a complete relax but close enough to be able to visit Granada and all that the Sierra Nevada offers then this hotel ticks all the boxes.

Nice View, very delicious breakfast, really nice Team and a beatiful view to the city Granada and the mountains of Sierra Nevada. You can find a lot of cool spots due to hiking to.

we drove through the entrance to the Sierra Nevada, through a beautiful pine forrest to the property. Stunning, welcome and friendly from when we entered until we left. Parking right outside the property. The ‘welcome committee’ is fantastic (gorgeous dogs Duna & Logan in particular). The owner set the tone for a fantastic unforgettable stay at their hotel/ home. We were shown to our room which was quite overwhelming- just beautiful. Huge comfy bed and pillows, view breathtaking with a huge bath to soak in and to soak up the views of Granada. Beautiful gardens, home grown produce used during fabulous breakfast and even better home cooked evening meal ( quality, quantity and VFM). Our dog was made to feel so welcome and could go anywhere in the property ( on a leash) as there are some cute rabbits free to roam in their garden area. Lovely pool, relaxed floor cushions, seating, loungers etc . Nothing was too much trouble, honesty bar when the staff were not about. Coffee/ tea, mini fridge in the room. We ventured into the local quiet town - La Zubia, 10 mins drive with a few shops and bars. Mercadona and small shopping mall 10 mins drive through the town. This is a very special place, worthy of a 4* plus and we will make a point of returning. Very memorable.
