Pros +

  • Everyone helpful and friendly rooms very clean and a really good price
  • The room was clean and tidy.
  • The hotel was built in typical Andalusian style .The views of the mountains are lovely.

Cons -

  • Lack of proper restaurant food available
  • The noise at night was bad. I could hear my neighbour snoring, the locals were chatting outside my room at 2am. Every time someone flushed their toilet you could hear their cistern refilling.
  • We visited March 25, outside of the peak season, due to checking the area before deciding to buy a propety out there.. The place was closed for facilities. There is no menu information. The restaurant is closed.Breakast is apparently continental, but we had a ham bap with cold tomato. The coffee is good though! The inside pool should have been open, but it wasn't. Rooms we stayed in were very basic, with no tea/coffee facilities. We kept our clothes in our luggage as the wardrobe smelt musty. We felt the staff could have been more helpful and cheerful.Entertainment at the time was a quiz and karaoke. You will definitely need a car as nothing is in walking distance. Malaga is a 45 minute drive away.We were to stay for 4 days but booked a next day flight back.Very disappointed. Ex pats living on the park where the hotel is situated could not praise the place enough . The summer season is packed, and it's a great place to be. It sure makes sense when thinking of buying to visit outside the summer months because this place is dead.We went to the local town for an evening meal but don't go between the hours of 5pm and 8pm as nothing is open until after 8pm. The place is a ghost town. We were expecting tumbleweed to appear. Suffice to say we shan't be going back.Sorry, Hotel De Saydo, even for a 2 star, you need to up your game.
