Kilcommon Lodge Holiday Hostel

The character of the hostel which was very tastefully decorated and also the manageress who was very helpful and pleasant to talk to.

The bottom of the bedsheet was slightly rough but this did not prevent me getting a good sleep.

The kitchen is very well equipped should you want to cook your favourites. I had a cereal breakfast from a choice of many and a tea from a good selection.

Very comfortable, very clean, good location and friendly environment can't wait to come back

Beautiful setting. Good value. Access to a lovely kitchen and dining room. There are semi- shared bathrooms and toilets - 3 separate allocations for each. E.g. toilet 1 and shower 1 are for room 6. We didn't have to share ours, perhaps the people who did have to share were part of the same group. There is a door to lock for the showers. Although it's not en suite it's the best shared showers/toilets I've seen. Highly recommended

Everything.Was like being at home.Very comfortable and had a peat fireplace as well.Betty was full of great information.Was extremely nice and offer ducks eggs,milk,cereal and apples.Amazing lady.

We hadn't realized it was out of the way but that was our error.Still beautiful there with things to do.

Well set up, excellent kitchen facilities, lovely fire in the lounge/dining area . We were made to feel very welcome. Appreciated getting the laundry done

The owner is absolutely lovely, kind and helpful. The place has ducks, chickens and a dog. Great if you're into that stuff or if you have kids. A great host, thatade all the difference in my experience

Well, I wouldn't say this is a negative, but a watch out, this accommodation is pretty away from a town. So forget a delivery of food to you. Helps to have a car.

Great coffee available which is required breakfast for me. Everything spotless but comfortable and welcoming. Location lovely with a friendly pub a few minutes walk away.

No grocery shop nearby or place to eat so bring ingredients to cook evening meal. Oil, spices and condiments available in kitchen.

From the location absolutely beautiful, to the room to the staff, Betty was awesome.. Made us feel one of her family... even let us feed the pigs.... Already booking up for next year. Cant wait to see you Betty. Bless, Josie xxx

The price didn't match my expectations, it exceeded it. I expected a dump, this place was somewhere i could stay all month.....if I wasn't traveling

Everything you need for a trip exploring northern Mayo. The kitchen was so well stocked and there is lovely gardens and great showers.

We arrived soaking wet and cold on our bikes and Betty could not have been kinder. She helped us to clean and dry our kit. The room, bathroom and kitchen was perfectly clean and really homely. The kitchen is well equipped and there is communal tea and coffee, milk, cereal and even eggs from her hens. Theres a nice space with tables to eat and relax. Thanks Betty for your hospitality!
