About

This beautiful and historic castle is set within 1,000 acres of woodland. On the banks of the River Moy, it features a restaurant made from the remains of a 17th-century Spanish galleon. With stunning views of the forest and castle garden, each spacious room is individually decorated with elegant and richly furnishings. Rooms boast 4 poster beds and overhead canopies include a private bathroom with complimentary toiletries, free Wi-Fi, and tea/coffee facilities, plasma-screen TVs. The award winning Library Restaurant serves fresh country house cuisine, with our signature dish 'The Drunken Bullock' steak flambéed at the table on a 15th Century Sword. The Tween Decks provides fantastic, 17th-century nautical decor, and the Armada Bar is built from the salvaged, 400-year old wood of shipwrecked Spanish ships Guests can enjoy the 13th-century Norman fireplace of the Great Hall, or relax in front of the many open fires throughout the castle, with its suits of armor and numerous antiques. There is a large, secure parking area, and Knock Airport can be reached in 35 minutes by car. Lough Conn is 20 minutes’ drive away, and the center of Ballina is just a 5-minute drive away.

    Pros +

    • It was quiet, away from hustle and bustle yet close to town.
    • Belleek is a great place for a short getaway or a place to stay when touring North Mayo. Period rooms are clean and stately. But the real jewel is the restaurant. EXCELLENT food - one of the best restaurants in Ireland.
    • The incredible customer service and attention to detail. We felt so well taken care of ... like royalty really ! My husband and I had a great time chatting with the owner and the fantastic bar manager .

    Cons -

    • I missed dinner as I wasn't aware of the kitchen hours and arrived later in the evening and had to go into town for a sandwich. Sad. Also the tour of the castle was canceled after waiting all morning then I got charged extra for late check out. Sad.
    • Honestly no , there is nothing negative we can say.
    • We would have liked more veg served with the delightful dinner…3 halves of Brussels sprout, tender stem broccoli.

Had a wonderful stay at the castle with my family. The food was excellent, had a great time in the bar, everyone was so friendly and the room was beautiful. Had a walk around the grounds which was very nice.

We had a lovely experience at Belleek castle….our breakfast highlight was the brioche with streaky rasher and fruit. The staff were fabulous, personable, and helpful. Carol gave us an informative and fun tour. We hope to return sometime.

This castle was a real treat — what a beautiful place to stay! From the moment we arrived, everything felt elegant, and everyone was so friendly. The beds were huge and very comfortable, and the little extras were a lovely touch, including tea and biscuits. We had dinner at the castle and the food was spectacular. The meat on the sword was a real experience! The sitting room near the fire was a wonderful place to relax, and there was also a cute bar.The complimentary breakfast was delicious, and to top it all off, it snowed while we were there, which made the stay feel truly magical.

Out of the town, very quiet and the room was fantastic. The restaurant was AMAZING!

I know it is older - but it is very well kept and solid.

Staff were amazing... Very attentive n interaction was great .

    Having to leave the castle.

The whole atmosphere as brilliant. The castle grounds were impressive and the reception area alone had us gawking until we then got to our room which was absolutely delightful. The staff here was also brilliant; nothing too much trouble. The room was made up beautifully (even tidied our mess away) while we were at breakfast. Breakfast was a feast. We didn't get the opportunity to try the restaurant but hearing the wonderful comments from those who did while we had a couple of nightcap in the lounge by the fire it certainly sounded amazing too. We have already highly recommended this amazing property to our friends and family.

We would have liked to have stayed longer but time didn't allow on this trip.

The tour of the Castle and the warm welcome we received on arrival was first rate. The room was spacious and well appointed with an enormous hed. The meal/dinner in the library restsurant was fantastic and the Drunken Bullock was a spectacle to behold....an all around fantastic experience

Small original castle, full of charm. Very helpful friendly staff. Very warm castle with fires lit. Beautiful decorated for Christmas. Food was devine.

Shower room lacked the same decor of the bedroom and castle design. But that is only a small detail.

The hotel is an interesting unique experience. Do yourself a favour and take the tour. It was excellent and our guide was class. Also spluring on the ‘drucken bullock’ (steak on a sword with flambéed whiskey) was totally worth the extra cost.

Bathroom was fine for an old building, but I would have liked something more spa like available on the grounds (though I knew this before booking)

The Castle is located in a beautiful area, the restaurant was fabulous, food unreal.

    Breakfast was massive in morning

Beautiful old world charm in an enchanting woodland environment. The castle is cosy and inviting with the friendliest staff. While we didn’t have dinner here - we had the most amazing breakfast next morning in Jack Fenn’s restaurant. Can’t fault anything and will definitely book back in to include dinner.

This Accomodation was a real treat for us. Luxurious and special and we were not disappointed. Belleek Castle was like living in a fairytale. The castle and staff were warm and welcoming. Quiet, clean and large room and bathroom. We loved the 4 poster bed and the "whimsical, quirkiness" and that everything was authentic and that the history had been maintained and respected. Good wifi and the dinner was romantic and a fine dining experience (a bit pricey but worth it). The breakfast was included and delicious. We loved the walk in the surrounding forest, especially the Fairy trail.

The bed was a little soft for our liking but still supportive and not a big problem.

A lovely tranquil stay. A beautiful evening meal and an exceptional breakfast. The staff were all very friendly. A nice night away.

Lovely welcoming staff and beautiful surroundings and setting!

    No nibbles in the bar!
