    Pros +

    • The view feom the balcony was amazing.
    • Staff was friendly. Location convenient to church we wanted to visit.
    • I think the Palace Hotel San Michele is one of the best in the city. Located in a beautiful building, with spacy rooms, and a very good restaurant, was a pleasant experience to stay there. Parking was included in the room price.

    Cons -

    • The hotel is old and it shows. The towels were especially bed.The whole place smelled like cigarettes.
    • Our room smelled sooo bad. Like BO. I thought we could adjust but I had to complain. That’s how bad the smell was. Bed was rock hard. The towels were extremely thin. Not even towels. Hotel is definitely more for an older crowd. It’s so old. We were so desperate to get out. Terrible hotel

Great location. Friendly staff, nice pool area and beautiful views. Tremendous value and excellent location.

The hotel caters to bus tours and it’s a bit outdated. We didn’t like the smell of smoke as soon as we entered the lobby , but other than there, it wasn’t . And as mentioned in many previous reviews, the breakfast is so bad. Cold runny eggs, stale pastries, old fruit …. Seriously not hard to remedy, especially with several local bakeries in town. Still a good value- just forget they offer breakfast.

Room was clean, good water pressure, nice view from balcony, close parking.

Cold eggs and bacon, ants on floor from outside. Shower head not great. Competition from large bus tours.

I have to say everything was great and is no comparison to American hotels. The rooms were nice and clean with linen bath towels. I had a room that opened onto a huge patio overlooking the sea and the town. It was a gorgeous view. The thing that made my stay the best hotel experience of all time, were the staff. They were second to none. The concierge service was exceptional. They even assisted helping me with obtaining a gift (a very large bottle of wine from the area). The meals were top notch gourmet meals. No need to worry about finding a nice restaurant. It was in the hotel. The pasta dishes were my favourite. The servers took so much pride in their work and were so friendly and welcoming. The location to the Sanctuary was less than a five minute walk. Great location. Thank you

The pillows are terrible but it is like this all over Italy.

    Comfortable room, good location

Wish we could have driven up to the front of the hotel to unload our bags, rather than have to drag them up the hill from the closest point we could drive to -- the road right up to the hotel was blocked off and no cars were allowed.

The staff Ana María and Pasquale gave the extra miles for you to have a good stay breakfast is wonderful

Very spacious hotel. Well located and near the old town and famous church and Norman castle.

We wanted to eat an evening meal but was not possible as we had not reserved. We were not told that we had to reserve in advance. The hotel caters mostly to bus tours so we felt like second class guests. Also the breakfast was minimal.

Incredible view of the sea and mountainside. Location great for walking to all the sites. Free secure onsite parking. Great balcony with a table and chairs. Our triple room had a door separating the two sleeping areas for privacy. The sheets were perfect.

The spa was closed for no apparent reason even though the website indicated it would be open. The lobby and our room smelled like people had been smoking in them. There was an ashtray on the balcony and there were no "no smoking" signs anywhere.

I like every thing, the room, the food, the installations. The location, the views, the pool.

    7MandyPosted on: 8-13-2024

    The pool area is beautiful

The lift was broken and I had to go up and down between floor 1 and -1 for meals.

Very nice personel, one of best breakfast in Italy for 4* hotel, fluent english, for my needs all good. 5 min walk to main attractions...

Beautiful view overlooking the sea.Nice swimming pool Very old hotel - beautiful (but could really need a refurbishment)

Lack of service compared to expectations. Staff not friendly and barely smiling. Breakfast really poor - very limited selection, tables not clean, staff not helpful - took 30 min to get a coffee.Expected a fitness room as described while booking but were told that it costed EUR 15 extra and could only be used from 4-7 pm which makes no sense. In general, price and service did unfortunately not match.

Just 300 m from the castle and old town, church and cave of saint Michele archangel. Wonderful seawiew of golf of Manfredonia.Hotel has own beach with free parking and umbrellas cca 20 minute driving. It's interesting difference of temperature in hotel and the beach was 7 C

This could so easily have been an Excellent (10). The location was very good. The room was excellent with a great view. The staff were friendly and helpful. But......

When you only have two hot items on the breakfast. How difficult is it keep both of them hot?? I appreciate that plates need to be cleared, but why use a metal container to throw the cutlery in. Why not use a trolley to collect items quietly and then take them behind the scenes to deal with. So frustrating.

view from the terrace from our suite room. Room was spacious and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful.

    3ColinPosted on: 5-18-2024

Thes location was excellent - right next to the major attractions in the village. Reception staff were friendly and welcoming - very helpful!Free parking on site.

The ingrained cigarette smell throughout the entire hotel was not pleasant. The set menu for dinner was disappointing. Air conditioning in the dining room was set to 'chill/freeze'.Breakfast choices were disappointing and being charged an additional seven Euros for a (tepid) cappuccino at breakfast was a bit rude. The room towels were small and as thin as tablecloths. No coffee or tea facilities in the room. Charged extra for a glass of milk to add to our own coffee & tea (using our own travel kettle)
