- An amazingly beautiful hotel from A to Z. Everywhere you go on the property, you can see the care and thought that has been given to every detail. From the stunning architecture to the meticulous landscaping, from the food and drinks to the furniture and service, everything is of the highest standard imaginable. The spa in the complex is the most beautiful and largest I have ever seen, including endless options of pools, saunas, relaxation areas and more. The complex is large and very spacious, but there are only 49 rooms, which ensures constant peace and quiet. The food in the various restaurants is also excellent, and the hotel does everything in its power to adapt the food to the customer's requirements, including preparing dishes that are not on the menu as much as possible. Highly recommend!
- We loved our stay here. The breakfast was excellent! As a vegan they had plenty of options for me. The location was beautiful. There was a great parking lot for those who are driving. The spa is phenomenal! There were so many rooms and it was very spacious so it never felt overcrowded. The inside of the hotel is beyond beautiful, modern, but still has its charm of an old convent. The staff were friendly and helpful.
- Very nice place. Beautiful and large territory. Nice staff.
Cons -
- A beautiful and stylish hotel with spacious, clean rooms and a calm atmosphere — everything feels five-star.However, there are no restaurants of the same level nearby, so guests naturally expect to dine in the hotel restaurant. Unfortunately, most tables were reserved for outside visitors, and hotel guests couldn’t get a table. The staff didn’t offer any solution — no option to dine in the bar or on the terrace — they simply said everything was fully booked. This is not the level of service you expect from a five-star hotel.Otherwise, a wonderful place to stay, and I would happily return if the restaurant service becomes more guest-oriented.
- The bathroom and shower in our room had transparent windows facing the bedroom, and no way to hide it with a curtain. As a couple, this is not a big deal, of course, but if you are coming with another family member and sleeping in the same room, it could be awkward.
- I would have loved to have a better view from our room. We couldn't see much from the porch.

Very nice place. Beautiful and large territory. Nice staff.
It was not very clean in the room. I found a lot of hair, including on the towel. Poor sound insulation between floors. When someone upstairs took a shower, it seemed like the water was pouring right onto the ceiling.
This hotel had a lot of French charm. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and comfortable. The restaurants were superb. The hotel amenities were above expectation. The spa was fantastic. We stayed an extra night because the hotel was so wonderful. We cannot wait to come back again!
We stayed at the hotel with our young dog and the three of us felt very welcome at any time. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and are happy to run the extra mile for their guests. You can tell that the team is passionate about what they do, everything is well thought out. The architecture is absolutely magical and unique. Great rooms, great facilities, great spa, great food. Everything was just perfect. This hotel and team really think of everything to make sure you have the best time ever and the location is great for excursions.
I would have given it a 10 straight away, but as we set great store by culinary delights, we missed the variety during our five-night stay. The hotel also stands out because of its great restaurants (one even with a Michelin star!!) and the food was also delicious, but if you stay five nights, you have little choice and have tried practically everything in two days, as the menu has very little choice. Especially in a hotel like this, where you like to stay, it would be even nicer (you like to be comfortable in a hotel like this and enjoy it without having to organise anything) to have a varied cuisine. We had to organise lunch especially well and many restaurants were closed at the beginning of the week. So it was a lot of organizing when it became to food. Nevertheless, the staff gave us always tips for good restaurants in the area and made all our reservations. So all in all, what an amazing hotel! We‘re for sure coming back, this was a one of a kind experience! Thank you for everything!
Everything was fantastic Recently refurbished, an amazing historical building tastefully converted into this lovely hotel in a beautiful part of France.
Nothing!
This Relais & Chateaux property is magnificent! The lobby of the hotel occupies the former chapel at the convent and the space is stunning. Our rooms were incredible. The hotel has recently been renovated and it is spectacular. Breakfast was included in the rate I had booked and it was wonderful. Hotel has a L’Occitane Spa which was amazing. I cannot use enough adjectives to describe this phenomenal establishment. WE WILL BE BACK!

Not a darned thing!!!! This hotel was PERFECT!
The resort is fantastic, both the rooms and the commo areas. The spa has everything you might want. Everything is incredibly well maintained. Food is great in both restaurants.
Improve the variety at breakfast. Slightly improve the service to reach true luxury level. Introduce head stands for the shallow part of the main pool. Chance the "do not disturb" sign (the tend to keep the door from closing".
Truly an incredible hotel, I am fortune to stay in a lot of great ones, but this exceeded my expectations. Beautiful decor, amazing facilities, a great sensitivity for the volume of the space. Attentive staff, wonderful location, clear, quiet, nice guests, excellent restaurants and good. While the hotel was full, it never felt busy, a very impressive accomplishment. Spa is fantastic, we had a number of treatments. I 100% will be staying again.
The food is a bit on the expensive side, but should be expected at a hotel such as this.
The hotel itself is beautiful, set in a renovated old monastery with lovely, spacious rooms. The pool area is peaceful and quiet, and my son was delighted to receive a mascot as a gift. The cleaning man and the luggage assistant were the friendliest staff we met.
But there were many disappointments. The hotel is extremely overpriced for what it offers. Paying 6 EUR for tap water is ridiculous, and while the food was okay, it wasn’t worth the high prices. The hotel seems aimed at people who want to show off that they can afford it. The SPA is only for kids 16 and up, which we didn’t know before arriving. This feels unfair, especially since there should be some hours where children are allowed. The pool had too much chlorine, and my son got a rash. Breakfast was very poor with little choice and low-quality bread, which is surprising in France—they should bake their own. At this class of hotel, it’s unthinkable that you still have to pay extra for parts of the breakfast menu. Most of the staff felt stiff and artificial, like they were just playing a role. General impression was that the hotel was trying to squeeze as much money out of you as possible
Everything! The facilities were particularly incredible, with a huge spa. We were blown away at this hotel and honestly, was one of the best we have ever stayed at. We stayed here for 3 nights at the start of our honeymoon and no other hotel lived up to our experience. Special mention to Adrien, who was exceptional during our dinner at Le Feuillée* - a highlight of our honeymoon and worth every cent! The room was picture perfect, with the décor being a highlight.
The only thing we could fault (and it's a stretch) is that the Bistro could have more variety in the menu, as if you are staying here for more than a few days you may get tired of the same meals. Suggest adding some seasonal daily specials to keep things interesting!
We loved the interior design, the architecture of the building, the staff who were all very approachable and super friendly even leaving my partner a little birthday message in room, and equally the buffet breakfast, which although remains largely the same each day, is a great spread, which can suit a variety palettes across a number of days. The spa facilities need very little introduction, just superb.
It could be argued that a few of the rooms are located in a less preferential area, ours happened to be located toward the rear of the property, opposite the outdoor bins, and where lorries stationed for deliveries. Fortunately the room itself was absolutely gorgeous, and a very generous size, but it is worth noting for anyone who may be staying longer.
This hotel is a true 5-star hotel from all the points of view. Starting from the staff that greets you to help you with your luggage to the girls at the front desk, a courteous and very elegant young staff. The check in process was very pleasant, as in the best hotels. The hotel itself is a gem, wonderful lobby, beautiful pool and garden, magnificent spa. The rooms are also beautiful and comfortable. Good breakfast and great bistro. Without hesitation I would recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again.
The most calm and serene place you will find. Gorgeous and spacious rooms with huge bathrooms. A very comfortable bed and pillows. The pools are both wonderful, super nice water. And the spa is also lovely. Free parking. Both restaurants serve a nice dinner.
It was really excellent, maybe the only thing is more fresh fruit options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Recently renovated, le Couvent is one of the very best Property in France. Attention to details. Charm. Elegant design well immersed in the surrounding Nature. And the Couvent itself, stunning. 2 very nice restaurants, a stunning spa. Definitely worth the trip.
Not much ! Maybe more healthy options when grabbing a bite at the pool. But we did get a nice fruit plate when asking for it, event though not on the menu itself.
by far has been the worst managed 5 star experience I had
The design is just stunning, your staff is friendly and helpful.Unfortunately your management is an absolute disaster. As a full time traveler I have to give you the feedback that this by far has been the worst managed 5 star experience I had.A junky in front of the hotel entrance providing himself heroine?Dirty dishes from the night before in the bar at 6 pm the day after?15 minutes after ordering food letting the customer know that the kitchen is closed?Pretty much no staff in the bar during the whole stay? Not having vodka in the bar and not providing alternatives?Spa area not accessible as it’s broken? And this with a rate of >400 € excluding breakfast? One it two of the above can (but shouldn’t) happen. All of this together is a disaster. If you want to I can give you some recommendations for hotel stays so you experience what to do differently, just let me know.I don’t know who put you in charge, but that’s a shame. And don’t blame it on the shortage of staff. Good management attracts good people.Bad management the opposite. That’s what I’ve seen there.
Positives:1. The room was spacious, providing space to relax and unwind.2. The pool area was a highlight, with its stylish design and well-maintained surroundings, offering a perfect spot to lounge and soak up the sun.3. The interior design of the hotel was stunning, blending modern elegance with classic charm.4. The spa facilities were top-notch, offering a serene escape for relaxation and rejuvenation.5. The overall tranquility of the hotel was impressive, making it a peaceful retreat.6. The building itself is a marvel, showcasing exquisite architecture that adds to the luxurious ambiance.7. The staff, especially at the restaurant, were friendly. However, staff at reception did seem a little hesitant, which affected the overall service experience slightly.
1. Unfortunately, the beds were not to our liking, as we found them quite hard for a good night's sleep. Also, there are two separate matresses that we normally try to avoid.2. Our terrace / balcony was facing the backyard and was situated right by the kitchen exhaust, which was not ideal due to the smells from the kitchen. Even with closed windows, the smell would be in the room.3. In the spa, we noticed that towels were often left lying around and not promptly put away, which detracted from the otherwise pristine environment.4. The sunbeds in the spa were not uncovered, despite there being no rain since the previous night. We needed to uncover them ourselves, which is not reflecting a 5* environment.5. There was no proactive suggestions in the room regarding hotel amenities or local attractions, which would have been helpful.6. While the breakfast buffet was nicely presented with big enough selection, the a la carte options came at an extra cost (even boiled egggs) and the selection of the buffet (marmalade, cake, fruit etc) was basically the same every day, which felt unnecessary.7. The air conditioning in our room dripped and leaked, which was quite inconvenient and uncomfortable.
everything was almost perfect! The people there speaking a loyt of languages, always helpful, always polite they were trying to make the best for our stay! Also the SPA is one of the best!! The restaurant as well, excelent food , super full wine list and excellent service!
Breakfast was not equivalent to the level of the other hotel services.Being there is usually for vacations, aplace to find peace of mind and body. There were no vegan or special dietary options, or there were not available when we were there. also 07:30 to 10:30 is too early for my taste.
