    Pros +

    • Friendly clean warm great food
    • Friendly, helpful staff and we were warmly welcomed. Lots of free parking. Excellent breakfast and a very good dinner, both cooked to order. Good choice of reasonably priced bottles of wine . Public areas were nice and warm . Lovely bathroom with great shower and toiletries provided. Comfortable, large bed. A utilitarian room which was fine for one night. The grounds were really lovely and in the summer it must be a fantastic location.
    • Lesser than basic hotel for a high price in a wonderful location! Staff good. Lift stinks! Room very very basic with not

    Cons -

    • When we arrived our room was very cold. There was an efficient heater but even so, on an exceptionally cold night, it took a long while to warm the room up. We were the only people staying in the hotel so it wouldn't have cost them a lot of money to warm the room before we arrived. The room itself was clean and reasonably comfortable but quite spartan . A wooden floor with no rugs, for example. There were no cushions or welcoming touches. I thought there was no artwork on the walls then spotted a small picture behind the television.
    • No water glasses were provided in the bedroom. Just one thin plastic coffee cup.
    • It was very warm when I stayed, room was like an oven, badly needed air conditioning

It’s located in a quiet and attractive location. The staff were very friendly and the Friday night we stayed the food we ordered from the al la carte menu was excellent.

The staff. All were very friendly. The night we stayed the retaurant was offering an al a carte menu. The food we choose was excellent and the highlight of our stay.

No water glasses were provided in the bedroom. Just one thin plastic coffee cup.

Very welcoming arrival, we were on bikes.

Very hot and stuffy in rooms , a fan would have been good

    10AnnePosted on: 6-23-2024

A lovely hotel, with very helpful staff, who coped admirably with both a school visit and a cycling club weekend away.

This was the second time we stayed, and if anything, it was better than the 1st time. The staff were very professional and quick to respond to any questions or help that we may have needed.

There was nothing to NO T like.

Lovely hotel to stay at friendly staff good breakfast

No tea or coffee making facilities in the bedroom

    9StephenPosted on: 10-25-2023

A superb breakfast buffet with an amazing array of breads and pastries. Situated within its own substantial grounds within a village setting. A wonderful dinner with perfect food to conclude our holiday

Nothing much the room was basic but we were there for less than 24 hours. The reception staff on our arrival were very friendly and efficient. The service at dinner was great as well. They allowed us to take our breakfast before their official time at 07.15 to accommodate our ferry departure.

Impresive building. Nice big bedroom and well fitted en-suite. Very good evening meal & breakfast. Dog friendly, quiet and yet in an Interesting small town. Would like to stay again.

    7LisaPosted on: 9-19-2023

Pleasant surroundings and excellent bike storage with electrical charging if needed.

The table set for solo travellers was in the least nice part of the dining room.

    8PhilipPosted on: 9-18-2023

Really nice looking Hotel and surroundings. Booked a family room, which was vast, with 8 beds. Breakfast was included, which was a welcome bonus.

Nothing to really grumble about for the price.

    8MichaelPosted on: 9-3-2023

Nice building. Quiet area. Very good breakfast

Room looked a little tired. Toilet seat loose, the overhead shower option didn't work. Room was hot, but fans are available if you ask

    9IanPosted on: 8-15-2023

Very friendly, good accommodation, rooms plain but comfortable

I stayed a second night later, and the only room available was in the attic. It was comfortable enough but quite stuffy, being in the roof
