Hotel Garni Alpenruh

The breakfast was served, with eggs to order; good selection. Sonja the proprietress kindly served as travel advisor; her ideas made visiting on a rainy week very pleasant. The location near train station was appreciated. The beds were comfortable and storage space generous. Wifi worked well. The travel pass issued to all guests at no charge is very valuable; we used it for several train and bus excursions in two of the valleys. We highly recommend Hotel Garni Alpenruh!

The bathroom is small but with a nice shower.

The staff went beyond expectations to make our stay a success They helped finding restaurants the we liked. They explained how to use the local transportation passes. They were like having personal tour guides for Lenk.

This property provides exceptional value for price. Sonja and her team are extraordinarily welcoming, from a friendly check-in to warmth every day at breakfast (guests are given designated tables with labeled names, which I haven’t seen at any comparable hotel). It’s not luxury by any means, but that should not be expected at this price point (I found my room tidied every day in the time I was at breakfast, which is smoother housekeeping than I’ve observed at even expensive luxury properties). A special note is that this is one of the few hotels that provides the version of the local guest card that includes the Betelberg and Metsch cable cars, which is worth a lot if you haven’t purchased the Berner Oberland Pass.

Super friendly host, great location right on the via alpina trail and next to the train station.

Martin, Sonja, Doris and Gerro were spectacular. They were always looking out for us and excited to see us and help us with anything we needed. We didn’t have plans one day and they helped us sort out a hike and the best way to get there. You also get a free bus pass. Breakfast in the morning was amazing. They have delicious bread, cheese, meats, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, orange juice, coffee and muesli. This bed and breakfast was so homey and pleasant. Best value in Lenk!

What a quaint, friendly place! Sonja and the rest of the staff made me feel like family during my three day stay from start to finish. My room was on the top floor as I requested (only stairs, no lift) affording a pretty view of the village of Lenk from my balcony. My single room & bath was on the smaller side, but it was perfect for my needs. A comfortable bed, a table, and bathroom were all I desired. There were enough outlets to recharge my devices and the Wifi was fine. An easy walk from the train station. Breakfast was delicious with offerings typical for Switzerland, including homemade jams. I was warmly greeted each morning and throughout my stay all made sure everything was comfortable for me. For those desiring an authentic family run place, I heartily recommend The Hotel Garni Alpenruh. Thanks, all, for a memorable stay!

All was perfect!

Very warm welcome. Room spacious and comfortable. Location central. Breakfast good selection. I liked the complementary cable car pass that came with the room. Good value for money. I had a room with a balcony which was nice.

Simple hotel with extremely accommodating staff. The location is perfect - right next to lenk train station, walking distance from betelberg ski field and a short bus ride from the bigger adelboden-lenk ski resort.

Nothing bad to say! It's modest, but everything was completely as described/expected.

The staff were super friendly and helpful. Location was right next to centre, easy walk to all facilities, and right next to bus and train stop. Car parking was also free and right next to hotel.

The room was very spacious with a great view.The breakfast was simple and good.Very cosy atmosphere.The staff was very helpful and kind. Especially Sonia who took care of every detail and question we had, and was very considerate, She even helped us with train booking. The place is very welcoming , we had a fantastic stay, I truely recommend !

I was taken aback by having the shower and toilet outside of the room, but now understand that that is not uncommon in Switzerland as one moves away from Geneva.

Well looked after family hotel. Bed/mattress was amazingly comfortable and pillow and blanket super cosy and a good quality.

Great hotel. I stayed in a large room with south and west facing balcony and a sink. Furniture is solid quality. You think this is Swiss made.It's a smaller village. The hotel is centrally located.On the second floor, one shared toilet and shower for women and men, respectively. I don't think anyone else were on the floor. So, the facilities were available.Friendly people. I got the sense it's family owned and run. A woman gave me a couple of options for the onward hike on Via Alpina. Also recommended a local bakery. Which had good coffee.Breakfast was buffet style with great options.Thanks!

Sonja was a great, helpful host. Spacious room with balcony and sink. Plus much transportation in the Simmental Valley is included…trains & gondolas! The breakfast is good & generous.

I really like this hotel. Our room was large and had a beautiful view on the mountains. We had a shared bathroom (sink in room) and the bathroom was very clean. The hotel is located in the center of Lenk, with plenty of things to do in the area. Breakfast was good, the staff was incredibly friendly.

It's Switzerland, so the hotel is fairly expensive, but for Swiss prices it's very decent!

Personnel very kind and helpful. Beds very comfortable. If we go back to Lenk (quite likely as is a nice region) we'll try to stay in the same hotel.

Everything was good. To say something, having some additional options in the breakfast (like croissants) would be a plus.
