    Pros +

    • Last day before departure we got a room we could use free of charge after our check out. Much appreciated!
    • Loved the cottages and the easy access to the beaches. Gorgeous sandy beaches and awesome snorkeling
    • Great grounds and location

    Cons -

    • For the rate would expect higher standard but it’s Maldives so everything is very expensive. Nice for a shot stay, bit apart from swimming / snorkeling and diving, there is no much more to do. Trip to see the dolphins was nice but again quite expensive for what you get. We saw them so overall worth it.
    • On our first day there was confusion about full vs. half board and drinks. We were given a “free drinks” menu with no prices, then told we could order from it, so we assumed those drinks were included. Then we said, "We don't think we get free drinks," the waiter then (checked we were half board but) gave us both the regular menu and the 'complimentary drinks' menu and said we could order from either. (So, we thought OK, I guess these drinks are complimentary for all guests. His English wasn't good and we couldn't speak his language so there was a barrier there) We ordered from both menus. Later, we were charged for the drinks on the 'complimentary drinks' menu even though there were no prices on that menu. When we explained the misunderstanding from the first day (we cleared it up immediately on the morning of the second day when we realized), the manager refused to reimburse us and accused us of trying to scam him and said if we insist, he would deduct the cost from the servers’ pay instead of taking responsibility himself. Good customer service means owning miscommunication, not threatening staff who clearly need better guidance or implying your customer is trying to get something for free. It wasn't about the money at that point and we certainly didn't want to take the money from the hard working servers - it was about the weird and unprofessional approach the manager took. It made us feel like he couldn't care less about his staff or his customers which left us with an icky feeling. (Also, for clarification you don't get 'complimentary drinks' for full or half board...only 'all inclusive' so why are they handing everyone a 'complimentary drinks' menu with no prices....who knows. Also, for the price of 'all inclusive' the menu should probably be better than just white rum and cokes, club soda and beer).
    • I was surprised that bottled drinking water was not available in the room. The two provided bottles contained only tap water, which I was reluctant to consume. Providing sealed drinking water would significantly improve the guest experience. And of course bedbugs. The rooms are clean but it happened to me.

I had a pleasant stay at the hotel. I especially appreciated its closeness to the sea and the overall cleanliness of the room. The staff were kind and welcoming, which made a big difference.

On water and loved the glass floor. Watched fish swim by. Nice view from balcony. Very private beach and loved the small island.

The location is excellent - complete paradise - with a fantastic coral reef in the sea. The food was first rate and the staff were super friendly. Decent bar too. It was a great place to stay for 3 nights.

Could hear a lot of neighbour noise through the walls.

Fantastic quiet place. Beautiful views, beach, apartment. Can't fault it.

    10EwelinaPosted on: 7-31-2025

Amazing landscapes, delicious food (each day would bring sth new), wonderful, always smiled and ready to help people, reef near the hotel (colourful fish, turtles, sharks and mantas). Rooms cleaned every day, towels changed each day, trip from/to the aiport organized, so just after leaving Arrivals Zone at the airport we were taken care of. Lizzards, bats, tropical birds and a hen ;). No need to wear shoes while walking on the island. No crowds, peace and quiet. Would love to come back there one day....

The island, food and staff were amazing.

The options for tour are very limited and the ones that they have are not really tours.

Our stay at Embudu Village Resort was absolutely perfect! Everything was exactly as arranged before: they picked us up in Malé on time and transferred us smoothly by boat. We stayed for 7 days with full board, which was more than enough — delicious food with many options, much better than expected! We were a bit worried we might get bored, but the island offers plenty of affordable activities like snorkeling (the marine life is incredible!), night fishing (and they cook your catch the next day), and more. The island, rooms, and all areas were spotlessly clean at all times. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. Every day, we received 1 liter of water per person in the room; we also brought some extra water, so we didn’t need to buy more, as full board covers drinks only at breakfast (tea/coffee).The only small downside was the Wi-Fi coverage, which was quite poor — but honestly, it didn’t disturb us at all, as we spent most of our time enjoying the island and only checked our phones briefly at night. It was truly an amazing, relaxing experience — highly recommended!

We stayed 4 nights in Embudu village and we had an amazing experience, it’s only 20mn by boat from the airport in the middle of the ocean Indian surrounded by crystal clear water, the dream! The facilities are very simple and very clean, the food is actually amazing and tasty, there are plenty of healthy options and every night they propose different dishes! The staffs were amazing especially at the restaurant and the bar. Ali from the housekeeping team was incredible, always smiling and very elegant. The island is small but there is a lot of space to chill, relax and tan so sometimes it feels that you are just by yourself! It’s a great place to rest and recharge, the evening are quiets so don’t expect to party, the propose few evening animations during the weekend and a lot of things to do during the day so if you want to be active, you can snorkel, dive, going to others islands and rent a paddle to have fun! Thank you Embudu team for the stay!!

Loved the island, staff and our villa.Would prefer more options for vegetarians at dinner.

    9JorgePosted on: 4-2-2025

I like the fact that it is still quite natural, snorkeling and water quality exceptional.

Quality and upkeep of the accomodation could be improved.

    7HermanPosted on: 4-2-2025

Very good food. Nice rooms. Great service, good price

Good reef. But not the best in maldives

    7AnnaPosted on: 4-1-2025

Great coral reef around the island with plenty of fish, sharks & rays!, very unspoilt and lush resort! Crystal waters. Beautiful ?Basic hotel facilties, food wasn't great. Priced at 5 star rates quality 3 stars.

Had a fantastic stay at Embudu Village! The food was great with plenty of variety (though I’d love better coffee!). Big thanks to our waiter Vishnu for his excellent service. The staff were friendly, the hotel was very clean, and the location was perfect - close to the airport yet surrounded by stunning nature (parrots, sharks, bats, herons). The beach was beautiful with warm water, white sand, and plenty of sunbeds. Our beach bungalow was exactly what I wanted, and the extra bed made our sleep more comfortable. It would be even better with more activities for younger kids, like a playground.A few things to note - no TV or iron in the room, and toiletries were limited to shampoo and shower gel. Shisha is available for those who smoke.Overall, a wonderful experience, and I’d love to return!

We had a great holiday in this beautiful, quiet resort. All the services were professional...the accommodation in the beach villa was even better than we expected. All the staff were friendly. The beach was just a few steps away...1 minute from the villa. We will definitely come back here again.

    10BrankaPosted on: 2-28-2025

I liked everything. The island is just the right size with a house reef, home to plenty of exotic and colourful fish and ideal for snorkelling. The resort is very well maintained. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful as well as the resort itself. The food was excellent and the atmosphere relaxing. My room was good size and very comfortable in a tropical garden extending to the beach. Check in and out was exceptionally well organised and uncomplicated.

There was nothing I didn't like.

    10ThomasPosted on: 2-27-2025

Really good overall experience - we will come again.

Perhaps a kids play area would help for families. The beach is one of the best but there is no point having the boats parking where people swim.
