The Somerset Hotel

The staff are very accommodating and friendly and provide great service.

It is an expensive hotel.

It was great stay and friendly staff including the General Manager.

We really enjoyed the food and should mention that SL chef walked to us at breakfast and checking the food and getting the feedback.

The space for breakfast was very small and less options, how ever they adjusted our ask from setup of menu options.

Room was clean, welcome was good and check/check out was very clean.

all staff are polite, prompt, informative, and kind.

Rooms were comfortable

Location in the alley was not what I expected compared to the usual Somersets I've stayed around the globe

The business suite was larger than expected and the sofa bed was a welcome surprise as we expected just a sofa (minus the additional mattress), it was the perfect size for our family of 4.

While the transport from the airport was a convenient add-on, perhaps the instructions on where to meet could have been clearer as my elderly parents had to walk quite a distance to get to the pick up area.

1. Our last minute booking was handled smoothly with quick confirmation.2. Airport transfers arranged efficiently.3. Convenient location near airport-ideal for short stays or transit.4. Warm and friendly staff from the driver to reception.

We chose the Somerset Hotel based on good reviews from prior Japanese visitors and we found the hotel to be a very good choice of stay indeed. The location is excellent, the rooms are specious and the food was tasty. Bibek and other staff from the hotel promptly picked us up from the Male International airport, and coordinated well with the resort facility and the transport service to ensure we did not have to wait long at the airport. We are very satisfied and would like to recommend the hotel.

Nothing negative about our stay in the hotel.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Smooth airport pick up and drop off.

The facilities are somewhat worn down and not too spacious. The room I stayed in was on the first floor with a view of the wall and barely any natural light (always felt like you are leaving in the basement). Air conditioner in the room was leaking, creating a paddle on the way to the bathroom. In the bathroom the entire ceiling was in black mold dots.

People working here were nice and polite.

Very expensive for this kind of hotel. If this is one the bests, I can’t imagine the others. Breakfast was weak. We had to stay here since we missed our seaplane.

Excellent from start to finish. Comfortable professional well presented quiet and peaceful. Great location, great food, buffet breakfast included. Why bother with the resorts. Can't wait to return.

Comfortable rooms, Great location. good coordination with our next resort so we didn have to wait for transfer

Not super important but there are no ocean view from the hotel - for any of the rooms

This hotel is in a central position, the staff were exceptional. We were picked up promptly and helped with our luggage. The rooms were beautifully decorated, spacious and well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Complimentary quality coffee and tea. The breakfast was delicious, a mix of local Maldivian breakfast and continental options, along with hot dishes.

There was some water damage on some walls, however did not detract from using the facilities and how comfortable the room are.

Staff, Airport pick up, spacious room

The staff were fabulous. From reception to restaurant wveryone was very courteous and helpful. The location if hotel in Male city is good, easy access to shops and restaurants.

The triple room i booked was actually a double room, and the sofa bed. Sofa bed was uncomfortable and i expected triple room to cone with 3 beds or 1 double plus 1 single. I feel i could have just paid for a double room and i will get the same room. My son ended up sleeping on the sofa anyway. we closed the sofa bed and the sofa was more functional.

The transfers were seamless. We had a lot of luggage and the staff handled it all for us (to/from transport and also to/from room). Check in was easy. All the staff were friendly. The room was comfortable and had tea, coffee and water. Didn’t hear any noise. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant which was excellent.

The staff was very helpful, they accept to keep some of my luggages while I was visiting few islands. And help me to handle the quite tricky speedboat transfer to the islands.

- location: downtown Male' & 10 min drive away from Velana International Airport- good restaurant on the ground floor

Breakfast was good and dinner was excellent

I requested a cardboard box for packing some things we bought but hotel wouldn’t help.

Conveniently located, comfortable, clean, and quiet hotel with helpful and friendly staff.
