Scamming

From the first moment we stepped into the hotel they started creating weird excuses for charging us and then doubling the price then claiming they made a special discount for us like if we are 4 year old children! very annoying and disrespectful. We felt like dealing with a local market full of scammers not a 5 start hotel (supposedly). We booked a villa that’s written it had 2 twin beds and 2 king beds, when we arrived they said it’s only for two adults and the description is wrong on booking. They made us cancel from booking and book two villas from directly (again claiming they made a discount by charging us same booking rate while in fact they gained more when we pay them directly. It was frustrating and extremely annoying dealing with them, and they ruined our whole first two days talking about this).They charged us for a blanket we put in the balcony and got wet because of rain , AGAIN saying that the actual price is 280 but they made a discount to 140, when the bill comes it was 145, we asked them why? They said it’s tax. What tax is 3.5% in Maldives? Only god knows. They ended it by charging us for photos they didn’t give to us(they remembered to add it to the room bill but forgot to give us, all what they think about is the bill, not the service). We asked them to bring it to airport they refused and said we will ship it. God knows if they will do. We don’t trust them anymore. Highly not recommended. They made us decide it’s last time we go to Maldives.

Ahsan our GEM made our trip so much better. He was attentive and a joy to talk to. The beach, the villas, the experiences and the facilities were excellent.

Not much, wish it was a bit more affordable but that’s the case in most Maldives hotels of this caliber.

The island , the gym , the staff , the room

No mini market , no flexibility to go to the other island , overpriced food

I recently had the pleasure of staying at SO/ Maldives, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the moment I arrived, everything was exceptional.One of the highlights of my stay was the incredible hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. I want to give special recognition to Abdulqader, who was absolutely amazing throughout my visit. His kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail made me feel incredibly welcome and well taken care of. He was always available, attentive, and eager to assist with anything I needed, making my stay even more enjoyable.SO/ Maldives is more than just a beautiful destination — it's a place where you feel truly valued as a guest. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway, and I can’t thank Abdulqader and the entire team enough for making my stay so memorable.

The only thing that was great was the fact that we were in Maldives. They compensated us with an experience to see dolphins, which we didn't see, and also a lovely lunch (which was great).

1.No room service after 12 as usual there is late menu in every hotel i don’t know where i will find a bread for my daughter in an island2.7 am they knocked on door asking when i will leave i and it wasn’t my check out day3.from 11 until 6 no one cleaned my room i put clean room button on ! 4.last day they cleaned my room but my minibar was not refilled my daughter asked for cola because mini bar wasn’t refilled the guy on front desk answered: call back at 11 pm :)5.someone entered my room i came with cigarettes smell6.they were nice on welcome but no one bothered to say how was your stay on check out only they took my signature on the room bell and left !

We had a great time staying at SO/ Maldives! Mahmoud met us and provided an excellent service during our stay. Also, Shihab was keeping our room sparking clean.

Interior design, coziness, zoning, mini bar, light, warm pool, etc. Everything was perfect!

Carts can be a little bit loud at night.

1. Close to airport, approximately 15 mins by speed boat2. Pretty new

1. You’ll wait for any ride for 30-40 mins. So you’ll use a bike unless it’s a rain. Then you’ll wait 30-40 mins each way. At morning you’ll call guest service for 15-20 mins2. Nothing is free at this resort, not even cola in mini bar. Third time on Maldives and first time we paid for everything everywhere 3. 2 previous hotels were much better for less money. We wanted an upgrade and got downgrade4. Don’t count on early check in if your flight is at morning, you’ll wait for exactly 15:00 as it is on booking. No drinks will be offered. Well, they don’t have to, but aren’t we looking for service?

It was an amazing experience. The resort was very nice. The water villa was excellent. But most of all, we need to highly commend Sue, the butler of our villa, who was exceptional. Very professional, very helpful, made my wife and myself feel like home.

We stayed in the ocean overwater villa and the unit was amazing! You can tell that the resort is of newer date, everything was spotless and the modern and clean yet trendy aesthetic really relaxes your mind. The breakfast buffet is full of delicious choices, there really is something for everyone. The floating breakfast was also really cool! We got to use the gym: you can keep up with your workouts with new equipment and a beautiful ocean view.

Resort life isn't for everyone and if you're looking to try something new everyday, you might be better of choosing an island with different restaurants and beaches. There is a boat going to a nearby island with different restaurant choices, but during our stay transport wasn't always available because of the weather conditions. The staff is helpful but also cold, with the exception of a moroccan staff member (can't remember the name).

Newly built resort. The rooms are new and fresh with appealing design. 20 minute boat ride to main island.

- Staff are not welcoming hardly anyone is smiling or is attentive across the 4 days I stayed at the property. Majority of the staff have a “ I can’t be bothered attitude” The staff barely say hello when you pass them in the common areas. - I was there for my birthday not one staff member told me happy birthday. I mentioned it to a staff member not even a cake or anything was offered. They did not seem bothered at all. - Food choices are limited you only have 2 real restaurants on the property and a bar that serves food listed as the “3rd restaurant”- Food Choice available for the price is not worth it 5/10 for taste - The sea / beach at the main beach area is not easy to enter it is filled with rocks was not pleasant to walk on and is empty for most of the day - No serving staff on the beach. You have to go back to the bar to order anything. After paying so much you would expect a bit more. - Hotel is built on a man made island so you have less fish and natural elements of the sea missing. It felt like a Dubai palm site.

When we reached there was a storm which stayed for our whole stay. Property management knew about it from an official warning they received from govt. management should have informed us and allowed us to make the decision to visit or to postpone.

We did not get to see or do anything

Firstly I have to highlight the excellent service, extremeky helpful and kind service & staff. I would like to mention here Maria she was our host, Nalin is the head of bar and made special amazing cocktails for us, also Ashraf , Maya and Luna, they were serving us during breakfast and dinner, and dont forget about Sia who was responsible fir the great music. Dining experience is over 5 star. Location is perfect only 10 mins by speedboat from airport Male ( we had transfer, guy was waiting for us managed the packages we did not have to do anything at all also reverse to the airport they support us with checking in and whole procedure. Thank you for everything, we hade great time, we're gonna go back definitely !! ???

I really love the spacious design of the water villa, especially how natural light flows through the large windows and the welcoming atmosphere. It is also perfect for outdoor activities or relaxing. In addition, the location is ideal, being close to the airport.
