JEN Maldives Male by Shangri-La

Gym, pool, breakfast and staff were AMAZING.

Property looks very old and room are not very well maintained. Cracked floors, old furniture, in general very average quality for the price.

Ocean view, food was good.

Nothing wrong with the hotel but Male doesn't really have much so recommend this hotel as a good pit stop on your way to a resort

3* at the price of a 5* - the only thing you could relate to a “Shangri-La” experience is the smell of the soap. Out of all the hôtel I have been to this year, this one wins the worst value for money. I spent $480 a night with no breakfast included.

The communication is smooth, response is efficient, easy access to all local attractions. The staff tries their best to understand my needs and provide a memorable experience. Check google review for restaurant recommendations!

The shower is not strong enough and is a bit leaky.

Breakfast definitely exceeded our expectations. The person in charge (forgot his name) was very kind and helpful! He even introduced to us a local Maldivian breakfast favorite and we loved it!

The carpet could use an update.

I had high hopes for this hotel in Male, but unfortunately, it fell short in many areas. The stay was far too expensive for what was offered. No breakfast included, so be aware that. The swimming pool was small and always overcrowded, making it impossible to enjoy.The staff didn’t offer much help, which was disappointing. Additionally, there was no conditioner provided in the bathroom, and the TV wasn’t smart, limiting our options for entertainment like watching movies.The only redeeming factor was the location, which was convenient. However, given the high cost and the subpar experience, I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. There are better options available in Male for the price.

We loved Hotel JEN Maldives Male by Shangri La! Location was great, everything is within walking distance! They made Check-in easy, and my room had a beautiful view of the Sea. The staff provided lots of useful information about Male. They offer a free shuttle to and from the airport which saved us time and money. Housekeeping checked the room daily and did a great job. The room was spotless every day. Our room boy Nabeesh made sure that we were properly looked after and made sure we had everything we needed, he also made us an animal from towels and left these on our bed, we were very touched by this. Breakfast buffet had fresh fruits, smoothies, pastries and many variations, something for everyone (even lactose free). On request you can also have various dishes made such as Poori, Chilla and Omelets. The kitchen staff (Chef Vicky and his great team) were fantastic! The dinner in the restaurant was extremely delicious. Good taste and you really finished your plate. Thanks to Team Sam (host of restaurant, Manisha and Indika (breakfast and dinner host) and not to forget especially of Chef Hardik, great chef! We enjoyed every day a delicious meal, such as Lamb Biryani, Chicken Biryani, Butter Chicken, Beef Filley Mignon, Salmon and Gambas’. Of course, all mocktails were on good taste and we enjoyed it immensely. The swimming pool on the rooftop is nice and clean and from morning to late afternoon you can sunbathe and swim with a view of the sea. Fitness room is nice and clean. The most impeccable part of our stay was the entire staff’s hospitality, which was A1 and made our stay a very memorable happening. We highly recommend this hotel with their most respected teams of operations.

Beautiful property not far from the water/jetty. Food was delicious! Staff was overly helpful, assisted us in navigating outings and even packed us breakfast the morning of departure at 0430.

Location isn't great for beaches.

Really good location right in heart of Male. Great welcome at airport. Loved the roof top pool. Friendly staff. Nice comfortable room.

airport transfer was OK, but the return was delayed, very annoying when going to catch the flight

noisy surroundingAC did not work properly: sometimes making freezing air blowing at night, at times it stopped making the temp. go very high. Slow, inefficient service at the restaurant. Limited supplies in the room (booking for 2 people, but everything for one person.fire alarm at 2:30 am, apparently with no reason and...no excuse

Roof top pool and restaurant were excellent. They also had a small but decent gym. The breakfast was decent and offered an array of items.

Area/location. While very close to the airport, the area seemed very busy to the point where we didn't leave the hotel. It may be the entire city but it was constant.The bells very early in the morning. We came to realize they were prayer times/bells.The room was small; however, in line with my expectation traveling to different countries.

The breakfast at this hotel was fantastic! The Eggs Benedict were perfectly cooked, with a rich, creamy hollandaise sauce that was a delight. The rice noodle soup was a warm, flavorful, and comforting surprise. A great variety of fresh options and attentive staff made it a perfect start to the day!

The hotel offers a convenient free transfer service between the airport and hotel on arrival and departure. It made our travel experience so much easier and stress-free. The drivers were punctual and friendly, ensuring a smooth journey to and from the airport.

Well maybe it would have been a nice stay but they don’t service wine in the hotel and we asked to get a taxi to another hotel for dinner but the staff ripped us off with the taxi charge cause we asked the driver how much was given to him . Then we decided not the stay there and asked for at least quarter of the money for the room they refused.

I went to this hotel because I did not like any of their 4-star hotels.Don't expect any 5 star grade hotel in Male city. You have to spend a lot of money to go to the resorts and enjoy in a 5 star hotel.

Clean hotel with nice amenities. Staff was friendly and the onsite food was good.

Overpriced, hotel is old, bad transfer service

Room is old. Breakfast is average. Price is high for what you get. Worst: No proper transfer done by hotel staff to the next hotel which arranged seaplane flight for us. Just dropped us at airport and abandoned us to our own devices. They didn't call the next hotel staff to come meet us at airport, nor did they tell us which counter to go to. All this despite us giving them details of our next hotel and they said they will transfer us to the next hotel properly to get on to the seaplane.

Beautiful hotel, great location as it's only a few minutes from the airport. Fantastic views from the roof. Pool was perfect and the staff were very friendly. Thank you to Ananda, he was so welcoming. Food was delicious. Price was high but the service and facilities provided lived up to the price. I will definitely stay here again.

The pool area is outstanding. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurant was also very good.
