    Pros +

    • Owner is the best and very helpful. They go above and beyond to make your stay as best as possible and also to help you to get around. Reaching hotel is a bit of a challenge if you have never driven in Alps. But owner helped is to get to the location.
    • Gorgeous views, spacious room with v comfy bed, friendly and helpful staff, lovely terrace outside. We had a great time and will definitely be back.
    • Great view from the restaurant terrace. Good place if you like hiking

    Cons -

    • Nothing!
    • We didn’t get a room with a view so we were disappointed. Google maps took us much further- so the last 15 minutes of the journey-look out for the pale blue street signs showing the way to the hotel.(don’t rely on google maps) Access by road is downright scary as plenty of hairpins curves with sheer drops on the other side. So great views while driving but seriously heart racing as well. Staff speak only German, no French or English so when we called them when we were lost, they couldn’t help at all. Food at the restaurant just average. 15 minutes walk to the nearest cable car.
    • the food. breakfast was ok although no fruits were served. but the the quality of the dinner food is way below expectation. my wife is vegetarian and there is (almost) no vegetarian food besides cheese fondues and Rösti with cheese. in case you are vegan person - you will have difficulties to survive. that is also the reason why most of the hotel guests have chosen to eat outside of the hotel.

the location is great: directly from bed to the Skilift in 30 seconds.

The hotel is in a fantastic location on the side of a mountain in the beautiful Loetschental, with stunning views in all directions. It is a short (but steep) walk from the cable car station, with plenty of hiking and biking possibilities in summer and direct access to the slopes in winter. We were very well looked after by the staff from start to finish. Our room was comfortable, quiet and cosy, and the food in the restaurant was very good. A great place to stay to enjoy Alpine scenery at its finest!

Nothing - it was a great stay

The staff were very nice and the view was incredible, as you might expect. I really enjoyed eating breakfast on the terrace. Finally, my boyfriend and I found the bed really comfortable and wished we could have stayed longer.

The only thing 'wrong' was we wished checkout was later. I didn't realize it was at 10, but this is not really a complaint!

We had an amazing stay here. The team and Manager were so friendly and welcoming. We even had trouble getting our car down the mountain after a storm and the Manager drove it himself and ensured all our luggage got to the cable car, amazing service. The views are out of this world, and the dinner and breakfast was great. We'd love to come back again, one of our favourite ever stays.

We simply loved this hotel for its location and the management. The reception was warm and always helpful and very well run. The room was large with lovely views. We are keen hikers and the short walk from the cable car was no problem for us. Indeed we would love to stay at this hotel again.

Very clean and comfortable. Located in a beautiful spot very close to the gorgeous Panoramaweg along the Lötschental.

You do need to know what to expect. It is a 15-minute drive up the mountain from the nearest town (Wiler). There are no other evening restaurants, bars, shops or facilities, so if you arrive after 7 pm, you need to drive back down again to eat (the nearby gondola is closed in the evening). Importantly, access to the hotel is 200 metres up a rough track; any low-slung car would have grounded on the track immediately but fortunately we were driving my wife’s car and there is usually parking space at the top. Don’t arrive in the dark; satnav won’t show you the right way. The host speaks only German (and Swiss-German). No lift. Having said all that, it’s a lovely setting.

Most incredible location, views form the terrace and restaurant were simply incredible. Very clean room, quiet and pleasant. Breakfast was good, although I’d prefer some veggies also, however everything was tasty and fresh. Helpful staff, very accommodating.

Dinner served early, so no options for food if you miss it. Getting to the property after dusk is very challenging , GPS shows the wrong location and in the dark it was almost impossible to find .. arrive during daytime!

Amazing view and friendly staff. Despite my comments about what I didn’t like I would definitely stay again

The road to get to the hotel was a little bit rough and hard to find. Would be better if that was described in the hotel description (or at least a photo of a map showing exactly which roads to take. Also to mention that the sign at the bottom of the mountain says only authorised vehicles, but it’s ok because they give a pass (at the top on arrival at the hotel).

The location was absolutely breathtaking. The views of the Alps are stunning and so is the Hotel . Our stay at Alpine zur Wildi was one of the best . The Staff are very friendly and definitely worth the stay.

    9HeatherPosted on: 7-28-2022

The location & views are stunning. A bit of a crazy alpine road up but one can also take the gondola (only option in winter). beautiful hiking, very tasty & substantial dinner.

The location and the view from the room were breathtaking, see photo taken from room window. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, lovely breads and coffee. We had the half board set meals which were extremely good and great value for money as well. In all highly recommended.

Only wish we could have stayed longer!!

Great hotel to be with family, couple or friends with fantastic menu for dinner. Breakfast is also very complete. Amazing environment, if you like hiking or trekking, there is better place to be. Owners are very kind and although they do not speak other language than German, they do their best to communicate. It was not a problem at all! We will come back for sure.

    4AnnaPosted on: 9-22-2021

I will start with the pros: - The view from the window is divine, very beautiful; - Cozy and comfortable room;- On the SECOND day I met a completely different staff, with whom it was pleasant to communicate.

Now the cons:- We arrived in the evening, during dinner time. We were very tired. The woman who met us checked our data, then we asked for the key. But she did not check us in right away after that, constantly asking for "just one more minute" and running into the kitchen to take orders to visitors. We waited for 15-20 minutes at the reception. It turns out the client who just wants to check in is not so important? It really spoiled the first impression. She didn't understand us at all. No one spoke English. The next day we met people who could at least answer our simple questions. - The wifi only works in the restaurant on the first floor, we lived upstairs. It was really important for us. But it just kept going off. Keep that in mind.- The road to the hotel is very steep, it is one-way, unlit, if you drive at night it's quite dangerous. I was surprised when the next day we had to pay at the hotel for driving on this road. It's not about the money, it's just that they don't warn us about it in advance. - On the first day we decided to have dinner in a restaurant. There were only two dishes to choose from (one dish for two). We ordered fondue. Of course we could not discuss the details of the order with the staff, because we did not understand each other. The next day we received the bill for dinner for two people (not per dish). It is interesting that we ordered one dish, but we have to pay for two. Judging by this logic, if there were 10 of us we would have to pay for ten people, not for the dish. We've been to other hotels and other restaurants in Switzerland and we've never seen anything like that. This point angered me the most. Again, it was not about the money. Maybe it is the policy of this hotel, but in that case it should be warned about it. If we had known about it, we would have dined at any other restaurant.

We enjoyed this cozy hotel with exceptional mountain view very much. The landscape is stunning and there are many wonderful hiking tours around the hotel and in the valley. The beds are super comfortable and the food is very tasty. It is also worth to mention that the breakfast buffet is very generous (even though we were only a few guests the second morning). The staff is very friendly and courteous. There is nothing negative to report. We’ll be back!
