About
This 18th-century castle has a quiet location, looking out over huge grounds and beautiful countryside. It is now a 4-star hotel, mixing original character with modern luxury and free parking. The Cabra Castle Hotel was built in 1760 and has high ceilings, grand staircases and historic hallways. The rooms have individual style and mix original furnishings and historic features with modern comforts. All rooms have private bathrooms, telephones, tea/coffee and satellite TV. Some rooms are in Cabra Castle and some are in the converted 17th-century courtyard buildings. There is a bar and a restaurant serving fresh, local food. The hotel's patios and terraces have views of the surrounding countryside. Dublin Airport is an hour drive away.

Exchange rate, I paid for my room in £ British pounds and didn't get a good exchange rate, so that was disappointing!
Friendly staff, amazing food, excellent bedroom and facilities. As this is a castle it doesn't compare with any usual hotel I have ever stayed in, ok it is a bit out and away from civilization but that was to be expected. Was a first class stay and you won't be disappointed.
Ok, the only omission was there was no fridge in the bedroom, just a bottle of water. But this is a 100+ room castle so fair enough, but just a little info for you.
The food, service and the beautiful facilities
The room was very warm and no way to turn down the heat
The Castle is beautiful. The staff are very professional, friendly and helpful.
We stayed in accommodation on the grounds that was beautiful but the heating was a little too high.
We attended Cabra Castle for a family wedding. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our hotel room was fabulous, very clean and spacious The food was also fabulous so tasty.
Super helpful and friendly staff, lots of history, beautiful and peaceful location, and fantastic restaurant! We had an amazing stay!
Fabulous room in the courtyard! Super staff, so friendly and all willing to make our stay a memorable one. The reception told the restaurant that it was my husband's birthday as a surprise and he got a lovely dessert and a happy birthday from all the excellent restaurant staff. The food was delicious. Restaurant was a beautiful setting. Bar stayed open til late and the night barman was also lovely.
Check out was 11am, we thought it was 12, this is a bit early, but the housekeeping staff gave us time to pack up!
Fantastic location, the staff were friendly and helpful
Breakfast was ok had to be moved to another function room due to overcrowding
The food was top notch and staff excellent to deal with very friendly and genuine.
The superior courtyard room was extremely well laid out but I must say the noise from the room above especially at night was frustrating you can hear every footstep which unfortunately disrupted our sleep several times the front door also slams quite a lot.
The staff were wonderful and friendly, my room was exactly as I'd hoped, the grounds were lovely. I especially enjoyed the tub for a long soak to relax before bed.
I stayed in a courtyard room which was absolutely lovely; however, the noise of slamming doors was very prominent in the mornings. As a light sleeper, I was using ear plugs but it still managed to wake me on both days. Perhaps it was due to a large number of people all leaving around the same time since there was a wedding the same weekend I stayed. I ate in the bar both nights and, though the staff were spectacular, the food was supremely average. I realize that bar food offerings are typically less frills than the regular dining; I just found it to be extremely mediocre. (I ordered a burger one night and an Asian noodle dish the second night)
Food was great, staff friendly, and whole hotel is stunning. Will be back!
Food, grounds, staff, cleanliness
Pillows too hard, complex layout moving around the hotel a lot of up and down stairs to find where you needed to be
We came here to view for our wedding, so we booked in to stay the night as well just to get a proper idea of every aspect of the hotel. We met with the wedding coordinator, Emma. She was so helpful and we loved the placed so much we booked there and then for our wedding. The castle itself is amazing. Whether or not the decor is genuine antique, it definitely looks and feels the part. The history of the hotel is provided in the rooms, I would recommend reading it, as you can really notice aspects of the different eras as you explore the castle. We stayed in one of the cottages. The room was huge, spotless and the bed was so comfortable. We ate in the bar for lunch and then in the restaurant for dinner. Both were great value but would 100% recommend booking the restaurant for dinner, it was perfect. (recommend the hake and Cava) Afterwards, we took our wine and hung out in one of the reception rooms upstairs in the hotel which was gorgeous. Then down to the bar for a couple of cocktails which were also delicious (recommend the espresso martini). There was a wedding on during our stay, and you would never have noticed. We didn't bump into any wedding goers at all and there was no noise. Breakfast was in the hotel restaurant. The wedding guests have breakfast in the Granary so it's not crowded. Breakfast was perfect, can't fault at all. Love it and can't wait to come back!!
Nothing, it's perfect.
Staff were all lovely
Electrics weren't working in the room. Socket didn't work and light switches
Beautiful surroundings, food and staff were lovely.
Room was too warm during the night.
Bed was comfy. Room was warm. Food was good.
No face cloths in bathroom.
Incredible location for Christmas, the castle and grounds were decorated so beautifully, it felt so magical spending the few nights there. We were located in the courtroom section and our room was spectacular, comfy bed, amazing shower and an incredible standalone bath in the bedroom, it was such a comfortable and cozy stay. Food was also delicious and the staff were so friendly and welcoming, extremely helpful too. I would definitely recommend for a weekend away at Christmas time.
Our room was amazing and very large. We had dinner & breakfast in the restaurant which was great. Plenty of choice.
