- Everything was amazing! The only thing was the 2 girls at the pool bar were kind of rude, never smile. On the other hand Zlatko was fenomenal.
- Best things about this hotel:1. Hotel grounds, design, facilities. The complex is huge, you can spend many days relaxing here, without a care in the world. Beautiful design, very clean, everything invites you to relax and take it easy. Peacocks and cats roaming freely. Perfect for both romantic getaways and family travel. Lots of accommodation options (4 different hotels actually), restaurants, playground, kids center, 2 pool/spa centers, huge parking, ATM, wine tastings, wine shop. Be prepared for lots of waking.2. Plool complex - 2 different Spa centers, with multiple thermal pools (indoor/outdoor), pools with slide for kids, lots of saunas, jacuzzies, salt room, massage and treatment rooms.3. Location - in the middle of nowhere, very very quiet, relaxing.4. Room in Starosel hotel - huge, comfortable, clean, nice view.
- I liked the whole experience of this place. The Hotel, the SPA, the restaurants in the complex, the mix between history, wine and relaxation. Everything was awesome.
Cons -
- Worst things about this hotel:1. Nobody speaks English!!! I've traveled a lot in Bulgaria, multiple times a year and never have I had such difficulty communicating with staff/waiters. I know it's farr from international tourist routes, but why put a hotel on Booking.com and not have English speaking staff? I've been to other hotels in the same area and never had problems with this. 2. Very little info is provided at check in (probably because they don't speak English). No info about wine tours, no English info sheet/map, no signage other than Cyrillic. After 3 days we foud a QR code on the mirror in our room with English info, but nobody informed us about this even when we asked.3. Three restaurants are advertised, but if you stay at Starosel there's only one restaurant you can use. The restaurant at Residence is only for Residence costumers (half board). The 3rd restaurant, we couldn't find it, don't know if it's open, were told to only use Starosel by staff.4. Although food at Starosel restaurant is very good, it's almost meat only. Menu not kid friendly at all. 5. Kids center open only 18-23. No info was provided at check in or elsewhere, which led to an unnecessary trip to the kids center mid day and an angry kid afterwards. 6. Room heating - It was excruciatingly hot. We slept undressed and still felt it was way to hot. No possibility of turning down heating manually.
- WiFi was a little spotty but other than that, no notes!
- Just a recommendation - if possible to allow access to the fitness center in the morning before the breakfast time

I liked the whole experience of this place. The Hotel, the SPA, the restaurants in the complex, the mix between history, wine and relaxation. Everything was awesome.
The food was very tasty, there are a lot of heated pools in very good condition and attractions for the kids.
Friendly staff, interesting events, tasty food and great wine. And the wine tour is a must
- Private jacuzzy on our balcony;- Wine tour;- Great locally produced wine.
Great spot with delicious food, friendly service, and an excellent wine tour. As always, we enjoyed the wines, the space, the pool, and the restaurant. The room was beautiful too
WiFi was a little spotty but other than that, no notes!
The complex itself is very well maintained - we really liked the garden! The room was very spacious and had a beautiful view towards the mountains. The SPA center is big and offers a lot of activities. I personally really liked the swimming pool. The hotel staff was helpful and friendly.
Just a recommendation - if possible to allow access to the fitness center in the morning before the breakfast time
Everything was excellent - location, food, facilities, the spa, the wine and the tour guide. I will be recommending this place to all friends and family.
location is great for a small children and a slow activities like chilling in a spa and walking around territory. No adrenaline, just fresh air, cozy surroundings and quiet
we had a dead bird right next to our balcony, not a big deal though
Lots of improvements in the Hotel Starosel part since my last year visits - new rooms, more pools and spa facilities. The food, wine and service at the restaurant and hotel were excellent! Looking forward for our next stay!
Smoking should not be allowed at the Starosel restaurant summer terrace when it gets all windows closed because of bad weather.
Excellent rooms and facilities, the spa was wonderful, staff was extremely kind and accommodating.
The spa facilities were incredible, very clean and in excellent condition, there is a wide variety of saunas, steam baths, swimming pools and jacuzzi. We in particular liked the outdoor pools which were warm even on colder days. The staff was exceptionally friendly, which is definitely extraordinary in Bulgaria. The room was beautiful with a great view towards the mountains. The team at Starosel also left a lovely surprise for my birthday - a very tasty wine. We also did one of the wine rituals and we really enjoyed it, it was different and unique compared to other places.
A map or information leaflet about the complex and location of the different families could be helpful when checking in or if left in the room. Everything else was great
We had a wonderful stay at Starosel - a beautiful location, fantastic spa facilities, excellent food and drink. We particularly enjoyed the tour of the wine making facilities followed by wine tasting. Very easy to reach from Plovdiv airport - will be recommending to everyone! Could not have been better value for money.
Nice, peaceful
First room that was allocated was with damages, but the staff change it with another a hour later. First 24 h didn’t have internet on our floor
Wonderful place for spa and relax. Also it has a lot of playgrounds for kids. Peacocks are amazing around the complex. No words for the fantastic wine..
Amazing environment around, nice restaurant with delicious food and high quality SPA facilities. I recommend the relax rooms there
The walls are a bit thin so we could hear everything next door.
The room was cozy and spacious. I really enjoyed the outdoor warm pool during my visit.
I found the prices in the restaurant to be a bit on the higher side compared to the quality offered, which made it feel less value for money. Additionally, a few staff members seemed a bit unprofessional and not as welcoming, which affected the overall service experience. Lastly, I noticed the dessert options were quite limited, both on the menu and at the block table.
Hot spa water in old part. New part water is cold. Not ok. Food was ok, service was super, parking, clean, opening time …
Missing complimentary water and fruits in the room and missing complimentary water in spa. Missing sanitary first aid kit.
The room was big and clean. The Jacuzzi was ready to use. The food was very nice.
There was no hot water in the bathroom during the evening.
