Happy Hotel Kalkan

Excellent food . Great Pool. Quiet location. Friendly and helpful staff. Cheap taxi's to town, as driving and parking in the town is a pain! Very cool place

We have stayed at this hotel many times and, although it may not be the most elegant of buildings, the wonderful staff, fabulous pool and views more than compensate.

Good location with a great view out to sea, a few grocery stores nearby and an easy 25 minute stroll to the harbour. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and the meal we had the first night of our arrival was really good. There seemed to be enough pool loungers for everyone, however not sure if it would be the same when it's peak season. It gets quite windy by the pool which meant the umbrellas usually had to come down so you'd have to move and hope you get lucky to find a lounge in the shade if needed. They do have a sister hotel with a beach club which is free to use if you're staying at Happy Hotel and that was great. I'm not sure if there's a free shuttle in peak periods, however we just got a taxi which was about 5 mins/£5

Recently stayed at Happy Hotel Kalkan with my family of four, and it was an absolute nightmare. The room we were given was nothing like the photos advertised online. The furniture was old, worn out, and in terrible condition. Door handles were falling off.The air conditioner was malfunctioning and couldn't maintain a comfortable temperature, leaving us sweating during the night. To make matters worse, the room was completely devoid of any essential amenities. For a family of four, there were only two glasses provided—no plates, utensils, or any kitchenware whatsoever. Laundry services were outrageously expensive. Additionally, all prices were listed in pounds ,and the hotel refused to accept any other currenciesOverall, Happy Hotel Kalkan failed to meet even the most basic standards of hospitality. The poor maintenance, lack of essential amenities, exorbitant prices, and unprofessional service made our stay extremely unpleasant. I strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to look elsewhere. Do not waste your money or time on this disappointing establishment.

The pool area and view is exceptional and the sun beds are super comfy. It is a short walk to a few restaurants, away from the main town and approx. a 30min walk to the centre. Taxi is 170TL each way.

Quite old hotelVery bad cleaning ( nobody even touched the floor, from the first day till the last one the same dirty and hair on the floor, the only made the bed)Very poor breakfast ( no any porridge, no pancakes, crepes, no any bakery, biscuits, only bread! Only! And always the same. There wasn’t any changing in food during two weeks. Fruits only melon and watermelon. )In pool you can find mountains of chlorineThere are two three hotels nearby with wonderful new rooms, view, breakfast and 30% less price than here ( price is really high for such rooms and breakfast)

The fantastic pool!! No matter how many people were in there was always room to swim . 25 metres .always spotlessly clean as was the rest of the hotel. Delicious breakfast buffet . Staff were always really attentive and discreet.

The views, the pool and the friendly staff were amazing.

The bed was very uncomfortable.

Good bay view and a big nice swimming pool. The restaurant locates by the pool, also with both mountain view and bay view. The food is perfect and alcohol available. The room is bigger than average with a big balcony.

The air conditioner will stop working frequently. The staff cannot fix this problem. I guess the problem is caused by its temperature sensor.

The views of Kalamar Bay were stunning.Buffet breakfast / cocktails / dinner.Complementary access to Likya Beach Club (five minutes in a taxi).The pool / pool area.Waiters were friendly Bed was comfy.Pool table and table tennis. Had a safe.

The room was outdated. The shower didn't drain well (also took a long time to get warm), the door to the balcony was difficult to open (my partner couldn't open it) and there was a sign warning against bringing in food from outside the hotel otherwise you'd be charged for it.

The hotel was very good, excellent staff and attentiveness to your requirements. Good setting for the hotel, quiet but not too far from shops, restaurants and cafes. Beach very close and relaxing. Excellent room, and fittings, with comfy large double bed.

I little expensive in the hotel for drinks

Happy Hotel is located in Kalamar Bay Area. You can walk into Kalkan which is downhill and takes around 15 mins (not 5 as some have stated!). Of course you can walk back but we always took a taxi as up hill. Taxi was 200TL (about £5). Having been to Kalkan numerous times, I like this area as a little quieter. Restaurants within a 5 mins stroll. Quiet area. Rooms have a balcony - some with much better views than others. We did not have a view but did not bother us as little time is spent in the room. Room has a minibar but they make it clear this is not for your own snacks. The light is bright for this fridge so a sleep mask is a good thing to pack. Ample toiletries in the bathroom. Kettle in room - big bonus! Fabulous shower! Water from bar was only 50TL (£1.20) for a big bottle. Drinks are expensive at hotel but everywhere in Kalkan now is! Pool area amazing with the most stunning views and attentive staff to bring you drinks!

There is very little that I can fault but if there was one thing then it is the beds - not hugely comfy. However, the sun loungers around the pool are super comfy!

Unusable balcony as no shade. Photos showed an umbrella but we were denied the use of one. We were told they were old photos, and for wind reasons, but there was no wind.Also, there was a quite threatening laminated demand for no food and drink from outside the hotel to be taken to rooms, only that purchased at the hotel. The demand stated that if anything purchased externally was found to be consumed in the room we would be charged hotel prices for this! We were never thinking to buy externally and take every meal to our room, but this felt very authoritarian.

Staff amazing, hotel goes above and beyond (towelling dressing gowns, shampoo every day etc). Food at the hotel good too. 15 min walk into the centre or £4 taxi which arrives within minutes and operate 24/7.Lovely sea view room and king size bed!Huge 50m pool and lovely comfortable sun beds. Can’t really fault our stay!Hassan in particular goes above and beyond.

More veggie/vegan options at breakfast would be amazing

The room was very clean and comfortable.

There is nothing to complain about, except there was a small water leak when using the shower.

The location..bar staff..food..wow breakfast..sunbeds & fresh towels..attention to detail.

The key card...had to re visit reception to validate..to actually get into your room...having to go back down the steps...again!
