Pros +
- The location, views, plunge pools and lounges.
- Very authentic design, natural materials, property built in nature.
- The location is amazing for those that like quietness in the 'Serra d'Aire e Candeeiros'. It's a few km from 'Grutas de Alvalados' (and the other 'grutas') and there are plenty of tracks for those that like walking. It is also very near the pituresque village of 'Porto de Mós'.
Cons -
- Dinner (3 x tasting options) all 3 meals were brought out at the same time and were cold by the time we tasted. The local olives, bread & olive oil were the best part of the meal. The hotel informed me that there was electric charging for our car, but not that we would need to download a new app and go through that entire process to charge our car.I will not choose a hotel that doesn’t have an ‘unlocked’ available charger. And I would not have come to this hotel had I known this. The room (03) was extremely dark, the furniture was full of sharp corners and there was no safe for valuables.
- SPA zone didn’t contain sauna or hammam.
- This hotel is typically a hotel that with a few adjustments could easily become a 9+ on Booking. These are:1) The decoration is a bit over the top. Too many fidgety items. I think that reducing the decorations by half will give the hotel a way more classy look and feel. This is obviously a personal opinion (and probably more of a north european standard, although we have been living in Portugal for 7 years). You generally see that all 9+ hotels are slightly more minimalistic (Sublime, Quinta do Comporta, Casa Balthazar, Sao Lourenco de Barrocal etc)2) The lighting at dinner is very bright white, almost neon. Changing it to warm white, would make a massive difference3) There is no coffee or tea set in the room. That's not a problem per se. But for this price range, don't charge for coffee or tea at the self-help bar downstairs. This is not about the money, but this approach comes across cheap (see also other reviews). Better to just increase the room price a few euro. Also, for this price range I would expect high quality coffee from an espresso machine at breakfast (not just a pot of filter coffee)

We stayed one night at the hotel for our 2nd wedding anniversary. I had let the staff know (on the day itself) and despite the late notice, they organised a great surprise: they had placed little paper hearts all over the bed, two Champagne glasses and a small Cava bottle in the fridge. Super nice, thank you!! About the hotel itself: the staff are super friendly and go out of their way to make your stay nice. The location is absolutely amazing, located along several hiking routes and close to several highlights. They also have bikes. The pool is really nice too (albeit cold!). Unfortunately the inside pool was still closed. The rooms are clean and well maintained, albeit not really our style in terms of decoration (but that's personal)

Beautiful surroundings, amazing cook, comfortable beds, beautifully designed rooms and great staff
The quietness, the pool and poolbeds, the lovely personnel
We thought the outside was the most beautiful and gave most rest. The inside interior and rooms have quiet some color which we believe is needed. Earthy tones (likewise to the inside) might do better!
It was a shame there was no food options for dinner here. Had to travel to the next town which is not very clear when you are booking
No dinner
Excellent facilities and nicely decorated.
Limited dinner options and having to select the meal 24 hours in advance.
Hotel in the middle of the nature, plenty of tracks to make. Restaurant is god but breakfast is unbeatable!!
all good
Wonderful cozy place to relax. What I liked the most was the swimming pool area surrounded by beautiful olive trees, with comfortable mattresses, hammocks and absolute silence. Beautifully located near hiking trails, overlooking the mountains. Nice breakfast.
We didn't have a chance to try hotel restaurant.
Great room!Beautiful pool area
Not possible to eat outsideExtras war expensive (massage, laundry)
The place is very beautiful but we stayed only overnight and you need more time to appreciate the surroundings.
The cooking lesson was very disappointing especially taking into account the very high price.
Hotel 11/10 points.
Restaurant ok, but was nothing special, i would go to the village insteat again next time, that was tastier and had a better athmosphere. For that price and marketing i expected more.
We loved the location as we were tucked away in nature and close to Fatima and Tomar. The hotel is unique and one of a kind, the staff were very helpful and the breakfast was lovely. They were helpful to recommend places to see and eat nearby.
The hotel is unique, the design of the rooms (well ours in particular) was fun but distracting, everything worked well but you will need to be ready to not know what your room will look like before going.
Beautiful place, lovely staff and nice food!
A wonderful place, in the peace and quiet of a natural park.A great property with a lot of attention to details. It was quiet, welcoming, discreet, and friendly. We stayed there for two days for our 30th wedding anniversary, and even though it was raining all the time, the inside pools and the cosy furniture made this stay very pleasant. The wonderful staff who greeted us and cooked for us were always smiling.I can just recommend this beautiful getaway.
The location was super cool and the staff were very helpful.
The breakfast was basic good, it could have offer more regional products, unfortunately wasn't the case. The dinner was super disappointing and very pricey for that quality.
The decoration, the surroundings and the silence in nature
Bathroom facilities had some leaks although the hotel employees were very helpful when we mentioned
Very cosy and welcoming hotel in middle of nature. Perfect to relax, go hiking/biking.Each room has a owne theme. Definitely a hotel you need to Stay in Portugal.Great breakfast and free parking in front of hotel. Rental car highly needed ☺️
This hotel really went over and beyond my expectations. From the check-in to the honesty bar, the room, the location, the atmosphere, the pool and the breakfast.Just book this hotel straight away, don't even hesitate. As a cabin crew, I've been around the world and stayed at many hotels. This is in my top 5. It gives you the feeling you want to have when you go on a vacation.
Nothing at all. I'll probably return there shortly :)
