    • *Easily* the best hotel in Ioannina. Would be an upscale boutique in any major city in the world, it’s that’s well run, and the fantastic breakfast is just a bonus

    Cons -

    • Let me try to describe what a $120 per night bought us at this hotel.First let’s start with the cleanliness of the room. We arrived at around 09:00 which we knew it was was way early for a check in but the receptionist very politely offered to keep the suitcases for us until the time of check in which it was at 15:00. We came back by then and the first thing we saw when we walked in the room was the coffee station, where opened sugar packets were opened from previous tenants and were still left on the tray and sugar spilled on the tray. Spider webs were on the ornaments on the top shelve (just trying to explain the picture of the wooden forks and spoons, just zoom in the picture). The light sensor of the living room was state of the art covered with scotch tape ( they really MacGyvered that out) We had some perishable stuff with us so we proceeded on putting them in the mini fridge that was in the living room only to find out that the mini fridge was wormer than the room ( even other guests had their milk containers placed outside their windows which proved to me that it wasn’t only our fridge that wasn’t working).Than we proceeded to the bedroom and the bathroom. Floor was dusty not swept nor washed with hair still sticking on the wall, this was not for the first day nor the second or the third, them floors were never cleaned during our 6 days stay. During our stay the lotion or conditioner that we found the first day were never replenished during our stay. The bed was made everyday but the pillow covers were ripped off and holes on the bed sheets every time they were changed, I don’t have a word for that…. On the room description was mentioned mini bar which it was no where to be found not sure what the management meant by that, to me a mini bar means a mini fridge filled with beverages for a price perhaps they were lost in translation and never filled it up or never was any in the first place.
    • Our room was right near the reception but during the night it was quiet.
    • Hard to park in the castle. Narrow alleys. But it's beautiful location

The hotel is beautifully designed and the room was comfortable.Breakfast was great as is the location of the hotel inside the castle. But what made our experience so unique was the personality of Violeta! She is an amazing person who went out of her way to help us with any question we had and gave us great recommendations. We would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

Our room was right near the reception but during the night it was quiet.

    9MaorPosted on: 10-8-2025

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The rooms were cozy, spotless, and very comfortable. The service was excellent, and the location, right inside the castle, was truly exceptional.A special thank you to Violeta for being there for everything we needed and for making our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

    9RonenPosted on: 10-6-2025

The roon was clean and well designed. It was kind to let us borrow bicycles with no charge. The location is perfect, just next to the city downtown and the lake

Hard to park in the castle. Narrow alleys. But it's beautiful location

    10NicolePosted on: 9-29-2025

Beautiful, elegant boutique hotel with wonderful hospitality , modern amenities and delicious breakfast. Great location within the ancient fortress walls, a few minute walk to the lake, castle ruins and museums.

    10SylviuPosted on: 9-7-2025

We were 20 friends and had 10 rooms. The hotel is absolutely amazing! Each room has its own personality and all our rooms were very nice, clean, well equipped and beautifully designed. Breakfast was perfect. For any question or request, restaurant recommendations and reservations, ask for Violeta. She is amazing. We recommend taking a sunrise walk to the lake or castle for a beautiful golden reflection on the water.

Location is very convenient, breakfast was good

We stayed in the first floor near reception and it was loud in the morning when we’re talking in the lobby. Wish it was more soundproof

    10NimrodPosted on: 8-27-2025

This location is definitely a boutique hotel, beautiful old building brought back to life in a beautiful setting Rooms are carefully designed and have everything you need Staff members were super professional, we especially appreciate Violetta's help, she arranged a ferry reservation and gave us a list of places to visit in town and in our final destination, she did so in seconds and with a big smile

    10OzlemPosted on: 8-22-2025

Perfect place! Everyone was very helpful, big thanks to Violet! The hotel provides parking permit to park inside the castle, so don't let the parking restrictions deter you from booking.

    10PeterPosted on: 8-21-2025

The property was very beautiful. It was very clean and modern and perfectly decorated. The building was beautiful as was the courtyard as well.

    Nothing, It was all perfect.

    10ILGENPosted on: 8-11-2025

A very nicely decorated old Ottoman style house situated in the heart of the old town. The architecture takes your breath away. The room was very convenient for a family of 3 providing both comfort and privacy. Staff was friendly and helpful. It is a kind of place where you want to spend time and enjoy the surroundings.

    Nothing I can say.

    9Savvas-CPosted on: 7-4-2025

Excellent hospitality, the staff were very helpful and despite the small problems that occurred, they had the willingness to help and make our stay as comfortable as possible. The small hotel is placed in the old city and is designed wonderful giving attention to every detail.

    10AlicePosted on: 6-23-2025

The location, facility, breakfast and staff were exception. The hotel is beautiful, location inside the historic castle walls. The entire staff were helpful, kind and went out of their way to make my stay wonderful.

    Everything was great.

    10MeravPosted on: 5-29-2025

This was my second time coming back to this hotel — it’s absolutely lovely. The breakfast there was fantastic — it had everything you could want, including lots of delicious Greek specialties. Violeta made the whole stay even more special. She taught us a bit of Greek, gave us great local travel tips, remembered how we like our coffee at breakfast, and genuinely cared about us and what we were up to. She was so warm, thoughtful, and attentive — she really took the experience to the next level. She made the whole experience even more perfect than it already was.

IALNA Boutique Hotel was a lovely place to stay! The room was spacious and comfortable, the breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of delicious goods, and the staff (particularly Violeta) were extremely personable and helpful. We received several great restaurant suggestions within walking distance of the hotel. We were only able to stay one night, but it was a fabulous place located within the city walls and I would definitely return!

The only slight negative has nothing to do with the wonderful hotel - its location within the city walls means, if you have a car, you will drive through nerve-wrackingly tight streets to drop luggage and park your car. Be prepared!

    10PamelaPosted on: 5-10-2025

The IALNA hotel is a gem! Very modern and clean, comfortable beds, and a fabulous breakfast. We were only there one night but I would love to return and spend more time both at the hotel and in Ioannina. Violeta is particular is a treasure - very friendly and helpful! She is a wonderful “face” of the hotel and we so enjoyed interacting with her!

Although this has nothing to do with the hotel, potential guests should be aware that driving within the castle walls can be very precarious - many tight corners and narrow streets. We found parking a ten minute walk from the hotel.

    10AlexiosPosted on: 4-12-2025

Location, Stylish rooms and especially the staff.

    Very loud families with children.

    10EdithPosted on: 3-22-2025

We were welcomed by the wonderful Violetta with a very warm welcome and incredible hospitality to make sure we enjoy every moment in the hotel and in Ioannina. Violetta organized a free parking nearby. Perfect location and value!
