Octant Furnas

In my experience this has been the best hotel EVER! The staff was helpful, the thermal pool open 24/7 the amenities, the breakfast were all exceptional . The hotel is right near everything, so it¿s walkable, through a very attractive town.

The dinner was very expensive and below average.

The access to the pools, spa, gardens etc. Loved the different heate rooms. It was extremely easy to access whatever you wanted to do in the hotel or out. The access to Furnas. The staff were incredibly helpful and fun and funny. We really liked our bed.

The hotel in places is tired and in need of some repair and sprucing - the pools had tiles missing and in the restaurant, one of the roof windows was smashed. In the big thermal pool, the posts had a lot of cobwebs. But we would love to come back.

Bar area was too small.

Everything! This hotel surpassed EVERY expectation! They truly attend to every detail and go above and beyond to curate a relaxing and pampering experience!

This hotel is beautiful! In a great location right in the center or Furnas. The staff is so helpful and friendly. Our room was very comfortable- we were welcomed with a bottle of sparkling wine to start our stay!

The thermal pools on site were fantastic as was the helpful staff and the delicious food!

The facilities and the SPA. Very good with the volcanic water. The staff and service.

Staff all very nice

Not worth the money paid: 1) Room is wet with mold, smells bad; 2) the so called hot spring water spa is just a pool, no natural garden around. You should stay other places 2-3x cheaper without the spa and just go visit the public spa nearby which are all nice; 3) Huge cockroaches everywhere. One dropped from ceiling right into our food plate in restaurant during dinner; 4) While people are very nice, but the service is lack of standard, not align with what you paid for. A d=simple dinner took us 3.5 hours. They also kept forgetting our orders.

Beautiful property. I think I liked the pools the best -- one indoor and one outdoor pool. Very warm and soothing. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Staff was very attentive and friendly.

The room we had was quite small and felt a bit cave-like - likely given the dark paint color, window treatments, and the bulky furniture which made it feel smaller. Some of the retro decor seemed a bit much. But this may be my personal preference on decor.

Excellent location surrounded by beautiful garden and hot spring from the active volcano. Service was superb, room was comfortable and clean and the staff was very pleasant.

A hotel in a great location, but you really need a car. The hotel provides easy access to the wonderful most see area of Furnas, Sao Miguel. Staff was friendly and welcoming.

We felt the Island of Sao Miguel offers a very diverse range of activities. Yet the hotel Breakfast service opened to late for guests who had morning activities scheduled to participate in the breakfast offerings. We were at the hotel for 4 days and because of our activities (Viator bookings). We only made 2 breakfasts and the 2 we did make we were among the first served each day and we only had minutes before we had to leave for our bookings... No Spa appointments were available. Rooms need a little more lighting.

Facilities are very nice, spacious. The breakfast is really good.

Our room was small, and the toilet backed up (also the shower did not drain well). After asking twice, the toilet was fixed. The staff was very nice.

Quiet location, nice rooms, nice restaurant , jacuzzi and hot baths, good health spa.

Service at restaurant was slow.

The indoor pool was very nice and the restaurant was absolutely great. The staff were friendly.

You can hear the noisy road at the outdoor swimming pool and also from our room. The WiFi was not working in our room which was annoying. The garden door was broken in our room which was another annoyance.

The breakfast and dinner were amazing. And the spring water pools are absolutely a great experience. Above all the entire team at Octant Furnas are wonderful, warm and very helpful. A very special mention to the reception team, Mulinos, for organizing a special gift arrangement for my husband’s birthday. And Elizabeth for the tips and recommendations of restaurant and sight seeing. And the team from the restaurant who went the extra mile to get me a soup that’s not on the menu because my stomach was not well. Obrigada!!

The room is a little too small for the value you paid.

The location is excelent in a quiet spot in the village and just in front of a small lovely garden. The staff is very professional and friendly and the room was great (very good AC, WiFi and mattress). The pools with hot termal waters add a distinctive feature open 24h. Food is great !

I would like to suggest the placement of some acoustic barrier behind the outside pool to prevent some noise from street to reach the area. Not a serious problem but it would increase the quality of the space.

The overall vibe of the hotel is excellent, and the restaurant was quite good as well. The staff were very friendly.

The rooms are certainly too small, and the hotel is too worn to justify the price. The rooms with terraces and pools are located very close to the street, so you constantly hear the noise of passing cars.

Comfortable, fabulous hot spring pools and great location. Breakfast excellent and ample free car parking. Many staff were lovely but inconsistent to say the least.

Bar not staffed, hard sell for expensive barbecue and some staff frankly rude. Insufficient capacity in restaurant- large number of tables but kitchen unable to cope.

It was perfect!! Lovely staff - so helpful everyone!! The room was very comfortable and clean and quiet. Fantastic location! Can’t wait to go back!
