Pros +
- Great location, El Bosque is a great base for hikes and day trips to Jerez, Cadiz area. Staff is very helpful, food is nice, simple but good, good selection in the bar. Vibe of an old mountain hotel.
- Located in a great place!! In a nature reserve and in a beautiful village!! The room was very spacious with balcony big enough to sit and enjoy the views!! Very clean!!
- A very comfortable hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Good beds, very clean, we had a nice balcony. Lobby, restaurant and terrace overlooking town, excellent. Short walk to restaurants and bars.
Cons -
- Rooms are a bit loud, so if you are a light sleeper use ear plugs.
- In room 23 we were staying in, the toilet drains were smelly constantly and was creeping into the room also.
- We took the half board option. After some confusion we discovered that there was a reduced 'demi pension' menu. It would be better if this was explained on arrival and also allocated an allowed value so customers could also choose from the main menu if they so wished. That said, the food on the demi pension menu was excellent so this is really a minor observation.

It's a nice place, surprisingly warm in winter! It was important for us because we were traveling with a little kid. Very clean, good location.
Very good
In room 23 we were staying in, the toilet drains were smelly constantly and was creeping into the room also.
We enjoyed our stay and would go back to Las Truchas. The hotel has comfortable rooms and spacious public areas including an impressive dining room, charming terrace and lovely swimming pool. The location was perfect for walking and touring the Sierra de Grazalema with easy access to the footpath to Benamahoma and the local Botanic Gardens. The staff were lovely and the food was very good with plenty of local options on the menu. Overall, we thought it was better than it's 2 star rating.

Hotel situated among mountains and spectacular trails, where one of the largest vulture colonies in Europe is located. Hotel is known for its restaurant, but there is no information it opens at 21:00 - so no place for dinning after getting back from challenging mountain walks and no kettle to make tea or coffee, Swimming pool with a nice view! The room was spacious, with a small fridge, all clean, free parking at the hotel's courtyard.
No kettle to make tea or coffee,
The hotel was very comfortable and the room was great with a patio and lounge area staff very friendly
The breakfast was disappointing lack of choice
It had a lovely small swimming pool and it was in a beautiful location.
The restaurant didn't open until 9pm. we like to eat at around 7.30pm .We went without our evening meal, as the hotel wouldn't bend to our request to eat earlier. This is probably a hotel which caters for the Spanish people.
Beautiful location, very helpful staff, comfortable and with a nice selection of food and drink.
We would have liked Wi-Fi and a kettle in our room. However, we were able to access the internet in the lounge and we were given hot water for tea on request.
What can I say? This is our second visit to Tugasa Las Truchas this year, and we have completely fallen in love with both the hotel and the charming town of El Bosque. The hotel's staff are incredibly friendly and professional, making every guest feel welcome and at ease. The rooms are lovely and comfortable, with beds that ensure a restful night's sleep. One standout moment was when two of the hotel's ladies went above and beyond to help me break the lock on my luggage after I lost my keys—I am forever grateful for their assistance. The hotel's pool and terrace areas are perfect for relaxing, and the on-site parking is a convenient perk. The location of the hotel is fantastic, situated in such a tranquil and friendly place. If you're planning to visit El Bosque, don't just drive through; take the time to explore and enjoy this beautiful area. We will definitely be revisiting!
Parking on site. Outdoor pool. Bar and restaurant on site. Air conditioned rooms. Spacious bathrooms. Loving the coffee machine for breakfast where you can pop in a capsule and get an espresso or regular coffee. Decaff option available. Walking distance into El Bosque with a range of restaurants and bars as well.
Linen and towels were clean but I wished for a better quality
Breakfast was good, as was the breakfast chef/host. The village of El Bosque is a fantastic retreat.
First: I have never left a review of any sort. As a rule, I'm flexible. I've also worked in serviceI reserved a junior suite (2 adults + 1 child). The room description states "max. 3 people." The photo shows 2 beds. Yet we were charged 20 euro/night for our child--even when we asked only for sheets to cover the sofa. The staff also refused to give us 2 towels for the pool. Neither the concierge nor housekeeping would budge. My daughter, age 10, is autistic and sensitive to conflict, so I let it be. For the price--and this hotel is more expensive than comparable in town--I expected more.
Friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere & comfy beds
Unfortunately our hire car had graffiti writing scraped into back of car whilst in hotel car park. No cctv and so unexpected as a remote village
Very nice hotel, good food, great staff.
Not the quietest rooms.
This was a fantastic hotel stay. Spacious and super comfy rooms with balcony. We had the best nights sleep. Staff were lovely with restaurant, bar and lounge available. Good parking and walking distance to many bars and restaurants.
The terrace, the inside bar and coffee area with an open fireplace.
Would have preferred a different view, rather than overlooking car park, but you could still see hills beyond car park and room and balcony were very comfortable.
This is our favourite hotel in the world! We have been coming here since 1993 and have many wonderful memories of our time spent here. Breakfast was awesome.
spacious, nice view , rustic
Hot water shower; Comfortable mattress;Nice balcony with a view to the mountains;Good staff.
It's not an adult only hotel so you have to expect a lot of noises from kids in the common areas (restaurant, pool, lobby, bar, etc). Not quite the best hotel to chill in, but a good hotel to sleep in and go out for a route in the mountains. We couldn't really use the lounge/bar area because there were always a lot of children shouting and making noises and throwing around plastic toys, not really the fault of the hotel but their terrible parents who simply didn't bother if their kids were bothering the guests. The worse part is that the hotel has these areas open to the public, so families can come to have lunch/dinner and they will occupy these spaces with their noisy children. So, do not expect peace and quiet of the mountains in here.
