Pros +
- location, room, staff
- Wonderful location right along a small canal and near a picturesque draw bridge. Minutes to Volendam by car and Edam on foot. Wonderful hostess. Great breakfast. Room was very spacious even by American standards. Beds were comfortable and we slept real good.
- Wonderful, quiet and picturesque location. Family suite had bed for each child with view of the canal. Breakfast was simple (bread, meat, cheese, hard, boiled eggs, and coffee) but was fine for us. Room itself was spacious and comfortable.
Cons -
- None that I can think of. Very nice quiet accomodations
- There is no designated parking, so that was a bit of a challenge, but we were able to find a spot and walk to the hotel.
- The room's sloped ceiling and wooden beams means one has to mind their head. Access to the room via steep wooden stairs up the roof, no lift. Windowless bathroom with signs of mould in the corner of the shower. Plenty of mosquitos (in April).

Breakfast was great. room had all we could wish for.We travelled there by bicycle and they offered locked storage.
Location was great for walking into Edam, fabulous breakfast - great bar right in the canal with live music - lovely rooms with good bike parking, kettle and stove top - lovely to be supplied with good coffee and selection of teas
We loved the location and the quietness of the streets, the hotel is right next to the canal, but still has a parking space, the bar next to our room was not loud at all at the time of our stay, but provided a nice place to relax at the end of our day. A short (20min) walk from the hotel you can see the sea side which is also a nice thing to see if you are visiting.
Spacious room under the gable roof above a cafe along the canal in central Edam. Excellent window view to the canal. Free parking all over Edam. Adequate breakfast. Really great location, 27 min. by bus to Amsterdam.

Had a great breakfast. Took special care to insure mine was gluten free. Upstairs room with sloped floor added to the experience.
A small, inn-like accommodation offering good breakfast, free public parking option on the street, in the center of Edam, with a walking distance to the bus station. Our room was in the rooftop, pretty simple, clean, with cosy bed, clean sheets and linen. The room's floor is leaning towards the kitchenette, so feels a bit strange sleeping in a leaning bed. The small kitchen is well equipped. Its staff is really kind and nice.
The noise from the restaurant/pub beneath the room can be disturbing.
Very nice room "as a flat". We felt as at home. In the center of Edam, perfect for a walk
Edam is a gorgeous town and the hotel is really conveniently located.
The bathroom's design and layout are highly impractical. The shower is awkwardly positioned behind a glass pane that is hinged about a foot away from the wall. To use the shower, you have to swing the glass pane outward and secure it in place with a weight. During the shower, water flows underneath the glass, soaking the bathroom floor. As a result, you’re left with the task of mopping the floor after every shower.
We only stayed here for 1 night to break up our road north, but from the 9 different places we stayed in during the trip, this is 1 we all wanted to return to.Location is beautiful, right on the canal on a very quiet one way street, just a stroll from the shops in the centre. The apartments are built on the first floor and access is via an external staircase. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked, there is a dining table and a smart TV too.We were the only guests, but the lady who met us had gone out the way to prepare food including a basket of warm gluten free bread for those of us who needed it.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cozy and well-kept place to stay, felt like home. Near the city center, quiet and calm. Breakfast was pretty good. Sure we will come back if Edam is in our plans!
A wonderful place near Amsterdam , where relax and silence are main characteristics. You can find different restaurants around . Breakfast was very good .
The room was a good size for 2The bed was fine and the shower had enough hot waterThe breakfast was very nice and well laid outMore fruit varieties could have been offered for those who don’t eat Bread and meat for breakfast every day
There was no heat in the room when we arrived and so it was a very cold night and morning It was fixed the next dayThere could have been more utensils and kitchen dishesPeople from North America often use wash clothes but none were offered
Quiet location central to the town and 10 mins walk to bus station to get into Amsterdam. Very helpful staff. Great breakfast.
Microwave would have been useful.
Location was great , easy walk around Edam.
Cold, stuffy room with heating turned off during night. Bad wifi in our room, not enough lights in the room, water pressure low, temp not easy to regulate
The staff is very friendly and the lake view is great
There is no bathtub at all. The children are very disappointed. The photo is wrong. Please update it.
The room was spacious with a comfy bed and great shower. Edam was beautiful but also peaceful and quiet. Our hostess was friendly and helpful.
The bed, the beer, the burger and the breakfast were all great. This hotel was a delightful surprise. The rooms are well laid out and every room has a fridge, sink and stove. Helpful staff. We found parking about a block away on a Friday night.Highly recommend.
