    Pros +

    • The hosts were so kind and accommodating - the accommodations are simple but comfortable and there are lovely walks right by the property.
    • Convenient location on E6 between Hjerkinn and Dombås, large sign on highway marking turnoff, with a short half hour drive south to the trailhead for muskox area. Nice apartment with fridge and stovetop for preparing meals, nice furnishings, clean and comfortable beds. Reasonably priced for a couple of nights stay. Staff were friendly and helpful, and kindly allowed for a late checkout.
    • Excellent location and rustic charm. And the food is very authentic. We were lucky enough to be there for the Easter buffet which was a delight. We had a large cottage which was warm and comfortable with a well stocked kitchen. Everything was perfect.

    Cons -

    • Little bit of traffic noise from passing cars on the E6. Stairs to second floor loft with bedrooms were steep.
    • The beds are all upstairs, and to enter a room with a double bed, you must pass through the area where two single beds are. In addition, the bathroom is downstairs, and it is inconvenient to go to the bathroom at night.
    • The room was rather loud. I could easily hear my neighbors even when they spoke at a regular volume.

We had a wonderful stay at Dovregrubbens Hall. Our apartment was really cozy. The hosts are wonderful people and super helpful. Our requests were not a problem and were happily dealt with. Even the pick up and drop off at the train station in Hjerkinn was no problem and the breakfast was great. We can only recommend the accommodation!

A beautiful location next to the E6 at almost 1000 meters altitude. It feels like a small cozy street. The hytte where we stayed was cozy, clean and comfortable. The host is very approachable and friendly. In the restaurant you can order very tasty local dishes. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Our favourite hotel in the area! Been there twice now and will definitely book again next time we feel like a comfortable night on the beautiful Dovrefjell ?? The owners are extremely friendly and make you feel welcome at once ♥️

Quiet stay close to famous spots in the region. Spacious cabin with good facilities. Friendly staff. Would recommend you staying here when you're looking for a place in the middle of Dovrefjell.

Single building, easy parking, complete facilities, interior layout has gone beyond the scope of practical, very artistic. The owner is very kind. Paid breakfast was served, but we didn't have time to try it because we had to catch a flight.

The beds are all upstairs, and to enter a room with a double bed, you must pass through the area where two single beds are. In addition, the bathroom is downstairs, and it is inconvenient to go to the bathroom at night.

The breakfast was outstanding, the room was spacious, clean, and cozy, and the hosts were very friendly.

The room was rather loud. I could easily hear my neighbors even when they spoke at a regular volume.

The 'apartment' had a small kitchenette with a kettle, a coffee maker, a 2-burner cooktop, and a small refrigerator. It also had a small sitting area with a couch and chair. The shower had good pressure. The food at their cafe was delicious and extremely reasonable. We ate both dinner and breakfast there. The owners are extremely nice and helped us book a musk ox safari, which was only a 10-minute drive to the meeting place.

The beds in our unit were hard.

    7TanyaPosted on: 8-23-2024

The cabin was clean and had the feeling of a traditional rustic cabin. It was nice to be able to park our car right outside the door. We were able to make a quick warm meal in the kitchenette which saved a lot of money.

Staircase was treacherous and the beds not very comfortable, which prevented us from getting a good night’s sleep. There is a sewage smell coming from the pipes in the bathroom.

Liked the appartment. Loved the cafe with tasty dishes. Musk ox burger and meatballs.

    All good.

    7CurtPosted on: 8-15-2024

Good half way point to trondheim. There are walks about and 10 minutes up the road you have the chance to spot Musk Oxen.

    9ErinPosted on: 8-5-2024

Very nice, clean and modern room. Good shower pressure and a comfortable bed. Breakfast was good and it was cool to have a souvenir shop on-site.

Some staff were more welcoming /friendly than others.

Very well located if you plan to visit Dovrefjell NP.The cabin was confortable, clean and well equipped. Surroundings are very nice.We had breakfast at the restaurant one morning, it was good (but lacked some breads / cakes or sweet stuff)

Great view, and a quiet place. The room was great, clean, and comfy, a little terrace was great for an evening with a cup of tea. Good breakfast.

I suggest having something sweet for breakfast, like cinnamon buns, because there is nothing sweet. It would be very nice :) Also - If your guests are trying to communicate with you in Norwegian, please do not reply in English.

It is a fantastic "little village"; it consists of the main building, another building with rooms, and a pizza place. Our room was very spacious, had almost everything we needed for one night stay. And we were greeted by sheep - too cute. :) Very comfy bed, great pizza for a reasonable (Norwegian) price. Lots of wildlife around.

We would love a mini fridge in the room, but everything else was good. The staff was friendly and in a good mood.

Nice, clean and cosy cottage. Very friendly and helpful stuff. Great food.

Great place, fine room, pleasant personnel.

Beds could be more comfortable and breakfast was somewhat lacking.
