Hotel Porta Reale

The most helpful staff we met in all of Italy. The location was terrific, the room was lovely and very comfortable. The breakfast was fabulous.

Beautiful hotel in an excellent location with very helpful staff and a wonderful breakfast. The front desk arranged a last-minute transfer for us on the Nov. 1 public holiday, after we realized there were no direct buses to our next location. It worked out great.

Fantastic location right on the main historic street of Noto. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable. There's a nice view from the rooftop deck. Breakfast was fantastic! Parking nearby.

Beds were rather firm and pillows not comfortable, AC did not work well.

Central, steps from everything. Valet parking in the old town! A lovely roof terrace. Utterly charming room and amenities. Excellent staff. Would return in a heartbeat- and actually extended one day. They make it so easy and pfluid

The location was good to explore the town and to take a day trip. Breakfast was excellent. Staff very helpful and friendly. Bar on roof deck was lovely at night.

Loved the location and very attentive/friendly staff. They helped with all our questions/needs. We were able to valet our car and never needed it again because we couldn’t walk everywhere.

It smelt musty, I think the apartments need more windows or ventilation because it gets damp from the air conditioning.

Very nice hotel in a great location at the beginning of the main street in Noto. Very close to all the main sites in Noto. Great roof top bar with a view over the city and surrounding countryside.

Loved the location and the staff was super helpful. We took advantage of the valet parking and it was great to be able to come into the ZTL to drop off our bags and then they parked our car for us. The room was nice and bright and even came with a laptop computer. The complementary drink on the room top was nice. Liked having a night light and the clothes line in the shower was handy.

For tall people, sitting on the toilet is a bit cramped. Water from shower went EVERYWHERE in the bathroom

Small boutique hotel just inside the Porta Reale. Ten minutes walk from Station (uphill). Rooms clean, comfortable and well laid out, bathrooms very good. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast excellent, small rooftop bar (for guests), well worth a visit for the views of Noto in the evening.

Nothing, from our stay, but rooms at the front of the hotel may be noisy during the day as they face the main street of Noto which is a very busy pedestrian route.

It’s a great property- just noisy at night if you want your windows open. Otherwise the double glazing keeps the noise out! There are not many properties that are this central and of this quality in Noto.

Location is very central, they have a parking service for 20 Euro very handy (especially if you don't want to be bothered by looking for parking).Room was spacious and clean. Staff in general but especially at breakfast friendly.

The hotel is very old and not worth the 4 stars. Breakfast room had plastic chairs, looked very old and poor like the rest of the hotel. My biggest disappointment, which I highlighted during check-out, was the breakfast. Considering the high price paid (among the highest, if not the highest, in Noto) and the small size of the hotel, the low-quality breakfast was simply unacceptable. There was not much choice of food. Our room had a very bad view: the wall of another building next to our hotel so we saw a small piece of blue sky and many pigeons greeting us from the roof of this building. The shower does not have the cable shower head, only the main big shower on the ceiling. So you can not take a shower without wetting your head.There wasn’t even one natural juice available—quite shocking given that this is Sicily, the land of oranges. The croissants were "fresh" only in the sense that they were pre-frozen and baked in the oven for 10 minutes, akin to what you’d find in the worst cafés. The pancakes were similarly disappointing, reheated before serving.The selection of salumi was of poor quality, with an overly salty prosciutto that felt like the cheapest supermarket variety. The bread was also not fresh—just standard pre-sliced soft white bread. As for the eggs, I didn’t even try them because they looked extremely dry.For the price and expectations, this breakfast was a major letdown and did not match the standard I would have expected from a high-priced boutique hotel.

The only problem the lack of heating in the bathroom - the heating system in the room was very efficient but there was nothing in the bathroom so we had to leave the door open to warm it up.

Great location next to the parking lot (access from there through the ground floor restaurant), friendly and truly informative reception, very comfortable room (1/2 floor lower than the breakfast room), welcome drink with nibblies on the top floor terrasse. Superb!

Superb location in Noto, most excellent breakfast, lovely clean spacious apartment, very attentive staff, sorted out car parking for us, a very nice roof terrace, a really great stay!
