Pros +
- Good restaurant and wine. Friendly staff.
- The owner is a treasure. The family owns a winery and makes wonderful Riesling from grape wines more than 60 years old. This special wine is called “Alte Reuben”. The food was wonderful too. Our room was a hike up three flights of stairs but clean, quaint and comfortable
- The charm and the view of the river from our room. The breakfast was very good. Water pressure and temperature was excellent and so was the WiFi.
Cons -
- The stairs…LOTS and lots of stairs — no elevator up a narrow, slanted and winding staircase up six flights to the 3rd floor with our luggage to our room was just too much for us (we are in our 70’s)! Our bed also squeaked badly (Room 15).
- Rooms are basic. No a/c, no electric jug, no fridge. Most of all, the bathrooms have no ventilation. They need an exhaust fan.
- Not a negative, just something to be aware of, the staff get a well deserved day off on Mondays so after breakfast you are on your own!

Great location walking distance to the center with Great views from the room overlooking the castle.
Lovely breakfast, fantastic view and restaurant. Staff were lovely.

Wow, I've had a few stays over the years which have stood out but Hotel Hieronimi has been fantastic. Huge room with the added benefit of a private roof terrace, fantastic staff who only laughed twice at my attempts to speak German. ? Our first evening, after a long days ride, we ate at the hotel restaurant and it was excellent, so much so that we ate there again during our three night stay. If you are on a motorcycle they allow you to park in their secure bottle store on site. Great breakfast as well (including rosé wine if the mood takes!). Much better than staying the Cochem side of the river as you get much better views from the hote of the castlel and the main town is only ten minutes stroll. 10/10.

This was a fantastic location! Views are absolutely incomparable and it’s right on the river so you get a great breeze. And, being on the other side of the river, it’s much quieter than the busy strip of Cochem.
The beds were a little hard, and the bathroom absolutely tiny.
The friendliness of the staff, and the view from the room. also, close to the center.
the small bath room, especially the very small sink.
Fantastic location, great food and a chance to try the hosts wines
The view of the castle. The restaurant on the river bank. Very nice breakfast and had gluten free option for celiac guest.
Price a bit high, restaurant closes very early at night.
Great location, lovely food and fantastic wine
Dated room although very clean
The position on this side of the river suited us as it was quieter and a much better view of the town and castle. We have been left with nothing but great memories of our stay.
The only thing that could help with the resultant is having an English version of the menu available.
We stayed in Room 15 - that's the top floor 3 windowed room you can see on the picture of the front of the hotel. That must be the best room in the hotel, for the view if nothing else! Everything spotless, everything worked just as it should. Location wise, if you want to explore and eat then you'll probably want to go across to the other bank. We were too tired after a day's cycling, so took a chance on availability for an evening meal at the hotel (we hadn't booked dinner). We were seated straight away and the food and wine were excellent. Highly recommended. One of us spoke German and the owner spoke English. It's perhaps worth noting that if you're relying on speaking English (and the owner's not around) then you might struggle a little.
We greatly enjoyed our stay here for many reasons. The view of Cochem and the castle from the room and terrace is fantastic. The breakfast included many options and the breakfast room is very nice. The dinner we had on the terrace was also very tasty. Overall, highly recommend.
Panorama absolute winning. Option to eat on the terrace with local wines. Good breakfast.
Old building with aged interior. Some furniture need replacement.
We had a large room with awesome views of the Cochem castle and the town of Cochem on the Mosel River. Bed was comfortable in a spotlessly clean room that included a sofa for relaxation. Most of all, all staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were excellent as were the restaurant meals. Their collection of wines were superb at very reasonable prices. We can strongly recommend this property to travelers.
We stayed in room 11 for one night. We selected this hotel because it had a great view - across the Cochem Castle. We were able to take great pictures of the Castle during day and night.Checkin was easy and fast. Staff are super friendly. Room 11 needs two flight of stairs up, so might be difficult for elderly. Room itself has a comfy bed. The windows open up fully - very helpful on a very warm day.A small parking lot was available next to the hotel. If it’s booked, there is paid parking spots nearby.Breakfast was included in our rate and it had great variety such as eggs, ham, fresh bread, muffins, cheese, etc. each table was assigned to a room - which was great!Walk to the old town was about 10-15 min. If you need more snacks and drinks, there is also an Aldi and Rewe about 5 min car ride/ 25 min walk. Would definitely recommend this hotel for the location and friendly staff!
No AC, but window open up fully to offer some air into the room during warm days
Perfect location to explore Cohem and the areas along Mozel river. In addition, the hotel has the most beautiful terrace in town with the views of the old part of the town and the castle. Breakfasts and dinners were delicious! The staff was amazing, very communicative and helpful.
The owner of this hotel was amazing! She was so friendly, checked us in, hosted breakfast and checked us out. Excellent service and the restaurant was great too.The view from our room was incredible - stunning views of the castle across the river.
I had fantastic view out my window of castleGood size roomClose to town I had an excellent meal in the restaurant and they have nice wine bar/tasting room downstairs on footpath
It rained but room was good size to hang out in
