Pros +
- This was my second time staying at Central Hôtel & my experience was all the more enjoyable for its being summer instead of November, much as I love enchanting Cerbère in all its seasons. I adored the A/C & being able to regulate it just as I had liked being able to adjust the heat the previous fall. As before, the staff could not have been more friendly & helpful, one of the many reasons I booked there again. The hotel's location is ideal, set back on a tree-lined front courtyard on a charming residential street but steps from the shops of the village center and the heart of the village in summer: its beautiful beach! Another lively local gathering place in beach weather is the village square just a minute up the street from HC. I very much enjoyed the food & the service at the square's excellent indoor/outdoor restaurant & café. For its truly central location Central Hôtel is amazingly free of street noise. And the stately building being of sturdy old construction also ensures that from within its rooms are protected from room-to-room & hall sounds. The bed was just as comfortable as my last visit! This time in the warmer weather I enjoyed sitting outside in their lovely tree-shaded rear courtyard to eat my delicious well-priced breakfast (offering lots of healthy options!) and savor my cups of HC's heavenly coffee. My room as before contained plenty of towels, coffee and tea makings, a large flat-screen TV and an entire wall of closet and shelf space much appreciated by travellers living out of a suitcase. When I made a special request for a cab to Banyls-Sur-Mer the morning I was leaving, the very congenial staff did one better & introduced me to a very nice couple, regular guests of the hotel for years, also just finishing breakfast, who were driving right through Banyls on route home.
- Great location. Roomy apartment. Balcony.Comfortable bed. All facilities needed.
- Excellent location under railway station and 2 mins walk to beach front. Room was clean and well equipped and there was a kitchen with fridge, kettle etc.
Cons -
- I can't think of anything negative at all about Central Hôtel. I love it there!
- Rather confusing as to if we were allowed breakfast as part of price. We were told No.
- Shower needed sorting...it leaked and had shower curtain rather than acreen

Small town hotel, basic but large, clean rooms with decent air con. Basic breakfast included but good for me, breads, spreads, juice and coffee. Access to a fridge in the reception was very useful. Staff didn't really speak English, but were still helpful and friendly with my broken French and was able to leave my luggage.
WiFi worked for me, but unreliable/spotty. Bad TV reception and the shower holder in the room was broken.
Loved the room, the view, how clean it was, the lovely tasteful furnishings and bedding, loved the location and the building's architecture and location in the village, loved the friendly and helpful staff.
Not a thing. It was perfect and I'd love to come back in April!l
Very good
Getting from the railway station to the town, a,nd hgence the hotel is a nightmare, I suppose there are taxis somewhere in this very small town, I didn't see any. You have to walk through a tunnel, roughly carved out of the rock, with staircases and ramps. I'm amazed that the town hasn't sorted out something better. I wouldn't dream of visiting there again.
Friendly staff, check-in out of hours option, left luggage option. Simple (Dated) but very clean bedroom.
Just the shower head holder was broken so had to hold the shower - very european!
Plenty of room. Comfortable bed and soft pillow.
We only stayed one night but it was great they were able to accommodate our very late arrival
Cleanliness of the room.
An effort could be made to provide some fruits and a better orange juice for breakfast. The orange juice was powdered one. With booking genius breakfast was free. Without booking it costs 8€ per person. And I find it expensive for what they offer. Bread, a croissant, ready packed jam and Nutella.
Good price and relax area, next to the centre of the town. Free parking outside.
It would be great to have something salad as option in the breakfast.
Very helpful staff. Quiet. Very clean.
It was extremely clean, spacious, and we had a surprise terrace! Nice breakfast.
The property was great - but walking to the hotel from the train station was a little confusing because although the property is at the train station (on a map right next to), you have to walk way around and go through a very long pedestrian tunnel to get there (and we were not sure if we were going right until we finally got there).
Great location, helpful friendly staff, good breakfast. A ground floor room was provided as requested.
Not much.. the room was a bit Spartan but it was a ground floor location which I needed.
Very clean and good price, excellently comfortable beds.
Not very noise cancelling, can easily hear other guests in the hallways and other rooms.
Good location in the centre of town walking distance from the train station, warm and clean rooms (with extra blankets provided when we asked ?), just what we needed for our short break in Cerbere.
Good value, spacious room, helpful staff, nice breakfast, basic cooking facilities
Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Nice shady boulevard in front of hotel . Town centre location.
I was cold in the night. It was a lot further than 100m from the train station. It was very hard to find from the train station.
Good price and very good communication as to how to access the accommodation. Close to supermarket and seafront but far enough away to be quiet.Large room and bathroom - great WiFi strength
Nothing - all good
Breakfast much improved since my last visit just post COVID. Excellent coffee. Free use of fridge and facilities in kitchen if required. Lots of decent eateries and the town bay in easy walking distance. Spacious rooms. Comfortable beds. Good individual room a/c. Kettle in room, no hairdryer but sit on the balcony for 5 minutes and you're dry!Great place to use as a base to explore the marine reserve, or just the magnificent faded beauty of a border railway town.
A/C unit drip-discharged into a drain on the balcony - the drain should have had a sealed cover, which was missing. As a result, there was a constant smell of sewers on the terrace. An easy fix - but only of someone tells the property about it! So I am now!Only 1 free plug in each room - good job I had a mains adaptor so I could plug in camera, phone, laptop, razor etc.
