Really quiet place, perfect for resting. Family friendly. The breakfast is superb. Outdoor and indoor swiming pools available so no worries about the weather. Staff and owners did excellent job and we felt most welcome. Thank You.

Struggled the mornings with early brightness coming from all windows. Me and my wife like really dark rooms, still we very much enjoyed this place.

    Nice pool and breakfast.

Unpleasant hostile reception. We arrived before check in time asked whether we could sit by the pool. No chance. We were told that we could not leave our bags, use the pool, sit in the hotel or sit by the pool. We had to wait outside in 35C temperatures. There were no mosquito nets in the bedroom and the AC was a bit noisy.

We really loved Monte do Malhão!! The quietness, the environment, the art works, the sympathy of the host, the fresh pressed orange juice in the mornings and the breakfast overall. We had such a good time that we feel we need to go back.

We didn't like having booked such a short stay :) all rest was superb.

People are very friendly and helpful.Place is overall beautiful. Room was confortable and spacious. Breakfast was very nice.Indoor swimming pool is great. Great place to rest and cool down.

No bar service after dinner (10.00 pm or so, or any other service), so if you'de like a glass of wine, a beer or something to eat, it's best to buy before and keep it in the refrigerator to grab it when you wish to.

It was a holiday in the country. Everything was provided for your enjoyment and entertainment such as indoor and outdoor pools, lounging areas, donkeys, lookout points, comfortable clean rooms, excellent breakfast. The hosts were very friendly and eager to talk and listen to you too.

Everything was well done. No complaints.

I liked that it’s away from from any noice and big city. you can totally relax and recharge here. it’s also a good base for your day trips to beaches caves or whatever your destination is. it’s very eco friendly and chic. it has a lovely outdoor pool area and a very nice indoor pool/ spa with a sauna, steam room and small gym. the owners/ staff are beyond welcoming and nice and it felt like home away from home.we had one of the rooms with a kitchen and outdoor space highly recommend it. And as cat owners we had the pleasure of having the company of Princess the black and white cat every time we were in. she’s beyond friendly ,cuddly and very talkative. lolMade us miss our cats a bit less. The breakfast is great and fresh. No tv in the rooms but to be honest, we didn’t think about it once. there is one in the communal area if you need one but the pool table was way better entertainment. This place is truly a hidden gem.

Lovely warm welcome. Calm, serene and tranquil. Beautiful, natural setting. Our room was spacious with a big comfortable bed and lovely big bathroom. Breakfast was fresh with a range of choices. Staff went out of their way to anticipate and meet all needs. Really appreciated the friendly but unobtrusive approach.

    Could not fault a thing!

A design led rural tourist experience, with eco, sustainable and spa credentials. Our room was spacious with an ensuite wet room and was finished to a high standard (quality doors / wet room / patio door sets). The bed was very large and comfortable. The room opened onto a private patio, All rooms are named after poets or artists. The property is an agro-tourismo venture and located about 5-6 miles outside Castro Marim in rolling countryside in a small hamlet called Rio Seco, so a car is essential to stay at Monte do Malhao. Breakfasts were fresh, local and portuguese and to a high standard, and taken in a very large family /dining / living room that overlooks the external pool and the setting. The Indoor pool was excellent and there is also a sauna / small gym and an outdoor pool. The accommodation doubles as an art gallery displaying local artists work and provides a cerebral space in which to relax. It is also located within a site that you are free to explore, including a watchtower on the highest point which gives great panoramic views. The hosts were engaging and provided excellent reccommendations on where to eat and what to see in the area (all of which proved excellent)

No Dislikes. It is car based so you need a car to explore the surrounding hills / towns / walks

staff were amazingly warm, welcoming, and friendlybeautifully decorated rooms and communal spaces quietperfect air conditioningnice bedding and decent pillows pools were clean and warmstunning location (definitely need a car!) perfect for exploring the eastern Algarve delicious burgers!

it could be difficult at times to find staff to help you, eg it is took us a while to find someone to check us in, and says the snack bar is open from 2-8 but could be hard to find someone during those times, which was frustrating when hungry and couldn’t drive elsewhere as had some wine alreadynot much space in the bathroom to put things or hang toiletries bag

The wifi isnt great... was the only downside but that might not be relevant for most people visiting Malhao. everything else was great
