Hotel Sonnenhof

I had a large room with a comfortable bed and a nice view. The bathroom had a good shower. Staff were helpful and most spoke good English. The highlights were the breakfasts and dinners. Breakfast was a good selection of sweet and savoury breads, cakes, etc. The staff made a good cappuccino on request. Dinner was a multi-course affair and all courses were good (I stayed four nights). The location is reasonable. The hotel is about ten minutes walk on a boring road from the bus station and about five more minutes to the town square. A good supermarket is almost next door.

The room was a bit bare; specifically, it had no kettle or tea/coffee facilities.The room was a bit cool and no temperature control was available to the occupant. The built-in column heaters never got warm.

Great location. Sauna is nice and new but with limited hours. Wonderful shower pressure and clean room. Good food.

Heat didn’t work. No slippers or robes available. I wish the salad bar was offered nightly. Breakfast was just ok but dinner was plentiful, so many courses. Service was attentive.

The location was very good with easy free parking. Breakfast and dinner were very good as was the staff. The room was very large and clean.

I specifically book hotels with indoor pools as my husband and I enjoy relaxing in one at the end of a long day. The pool here was not heated and in fact was freezing. It was very disappointing.

Sonnenhof hotel is located in a small and idyllic town with marvellous landscapes. It's a good choice if you want to visit the Bolzano/South Tirol region. The room was spotlessly clean, very comfy and furnished in Tyrolean style.The balcony, overlooking the town, was large enough with 2x lounge chairs available.Also, free parking is available on site, and a few shops and restaurants are within walking distance.

The owners were not flexible in having the breakfast and dinner outdoors, so I gave up having the meals on-site. In these pandemic times, the people were too crowded in the dining area and obviously... not wearing a mask. The health and safety measures are in vain if the time interval for dinner is too short and you're not allowed to take your food to eat outdoor.
