    Pros +

    • The hospitality was top notch! The hotel was beautiful and the pool, relaxation areas, and saunas were wonderful. It is conveniently located right in town and is easily walking distance. The food was wonderful, as well.
    • A lovely boutique family run hotel, this is our second stay at the property in the last two years. The half board is fabulous and a must, quality of food is very good. The spa facilities and gym are excellent especially for the size of the hotel.
    • Staff are wonderful. Had a minor issue on arrival that they solved immediately.

    Cons -

    • Restaurant food quality was inconsistent.
    • The wellness area disappointed. One sauna room costs extra despite being next to the free ones, the “ice room” never worked, and the space lacks basic functional elements — no clear labels on buttons, no posted sauna temperatures, and no visible cold drinking water. The rooftop “whirlpool” is surprisingly small — barely fitting four people — more like a household tub than a resort feature.Room design leans heavily on form over function: no shower door leads to water spreading into the living area, the space steams up quickly, and ventilation is poor. The designer sink splashes due to its awkward geometry — the long faucet pours directly onto a flat convex drain, making it messy to use.Breakfast felt unnecessarily restricted — simple items like yogurt or cold cuts must be ordered à la carte, served on oversized plates at small tables, slowing the experience. We were also surprised that excursions and spa elements like the “melarium” cost extra, especially given their presentation on the website and our prior experiences at similarly priced hotels in the region where such offerings were included.
    • We loved everything about it

The positives: beautifully clean rooms with thoughtful touches like bath salts and fresh tea, stunning views, a well-equipped gym, and a pleasant breakfast with a small buffet and made-to-order options. Afternoon tea cakes were a welcome touch.

Lovely rooms, super friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast! So much to love at this hotelThe staff were so lovely helping us to plan hikes & recommending Refugio’s to eat at Beds were super comfy Great location in the centre of Castlerotto- stroll to the supermarket and gelato & minutes away from the bus which takes you for free (with the mobility pass)

Minor comment - the spa area felt a bit outdated Wouldn’t stop us staying again we loved it

We got upgraded room with bathtub. The room was very nice with mountain view. Its spacious and clean. The breakfast were good. The staffs were nice to us especially the one who greeted us when we were checked in. He explained to us very detail about hiking in the area. However there was one staff was rude at us at the parking lot. My husband already signaled him that we were sorry, but he was showing black face to us. One of the night we had dinner at the hotel, the food and the service were good.

Wish there is a door in the shower area. The water keeps flowing out since there is no partition/door.

New & modern hotel. All staff very friendly. Food very good including breakfast & dinner. I highly recommend to have dinner in hotel. Only €30 for a 4-course set menu. Everything is excellent. ???

Nothing. Hope I can stay much longer.

We had an amazing stay at Schgaguler. This is one of the best hotels we stayed at. The facilities are outstanding, and the staff is what makes this place a hidden gem. Sandra at the restaurant is just such a nice person, and everyone at the hotel is there to ensure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. We miss it already! A special note to say that this place is super friendly with kids.

The hotel was the nicest hotel we stayed in on our 2 week tour of the Dolomites. It is fresh, modern, comfortable and practical. The rooms, views and facilities are excellent. But the food is superb especially the dinner offering with a new menu every night.

    Nothing - was all fantastic

Fabulous Hotel recently updated in 2018 with modern finishes. Everything was amazing - the Staff was over the top friendly and helpful, the bar area with fireplace and expert mixologists exceptional, nice afternoon tea, beautiful views, delicious restaurant for breakfast (need to book ahead to seat for dinner @30 euros/pp/4 courses, spa exceptional with heated pool, lounge, massage and rooms big with wonderful showers, toiletries (hyaluronic lotion) and wonderful outside area with hot tub, outside fire pit and balconies to view the mountain scape. We will return to stay here and spend more time in Castelrotto - a wonderfully idyllic location for experience and close proximity to ski slopes.

    Everything Exceptional.

Beautiful hotel and mountain view, impeccable design and really comfortable room. Staff was incredibly friendly, organised a lovely cake and generous late check out for my birthday. Can recommend 100% and will be back soon.

Maria was a superb hostess at the hotel - checking us in efficiently, parking our car and getting the bags to the room. She gave us a wonderful overview of the facility and the area. The bar makes an amazing Dolomite martini … absolutely superb!!!!!!

+ Very attentive and friendly staff+ Owner-managed by a local and enthusiastic family that is involved in the daily operations+ Delicious continental breakfast with a wide selection, tempting afternoon cake and a superb dinner: all inclusive in the overall price+ Decently sized and spa and wellness area

    - Nothing major not to like! Be aware that coffee for the afternoon tea and drinks for the dinner are charged separately

    10Karen-AnnePosted on: 9-18-2023

Everything. From the time we arrived being greeted by the lovely staff, then the ease of unloading and parking the car. We were given a fabulous welcome drink before being shown to our room and having everything explained to us. We purchased a half board package and it did not disappoint, the evening meals were of a very high standard and beautifully presented. The staff were professional, friendly and trained to a high standard. Most could speak several languages well. The spa facilities were luxurious and the gym was impressive for a boutique hotel. Then there are the outstanding views of the Dolomites from nearly every room of the hotel.

Nothing, wish we could have stayed longer!
