Cold room (19C) and insufficient bedding

Very friendly welcome, good breakfast, fast wifi, comfortable bed, nice and hot sauna, hotel has own parking space, nicely located centrally in town only a brief walk to the shuttle bus to the Great Arber.

The bathroom was quite old and there is a bit of a smell from the pipes. Everything worked well and it has super hot water and good heating, so just closing the bathroom door and it isn't much of a bother.

The location was the only positive factor for my stay, Bodenmais is beautiful.

When I arrived at the hotel I was greeted by a note on the door stating that "due to staff shortages" there was nobody available to greet me and the bar and restaurant would not be open.The bar and restaurant remained closed all week and I had to let myself in and out through a rear entrance.There were no tea and coffee making facility in the room which was not great considering the bar was closed.There were no ironing facilities in the entire hotel which is very poor for someone travelling for work.

The location is nice and close to lots of attractions (we had a car)The best thing was the Aktiv Card we got at the reception. with this, we got free access to a very nice indoor pool in walking distance as well as plenty attractions, museums and lots of amusement parks. This was a pleasant surprise. Will come back!

The room was a bit dated. Renovation is in order. It was big and clean, though

the breakfast was excellent, the staff were always friendly and helpful in all respects. the food in the restaurant was excellent and to a high standard. the hotel is conveniently located at the main road into the town, yet set back so as not to be bothered with any street noise.

We chose the place for the sauna, but didn't know we were supposed to prebook the access. So no sauna access after a skiing day. A bit disappointed.As for the food, the Brotzeit teller was mainly containing breakfast cold meat, and Brie cheese, which for me was unaxpected, i would have hoped for Bergkäse or Obadza instead

Location was great, just in the center and easy access to the services. Parking free and just next to the building. The balcony was amazing with a view to the town and to the hills. The staff was very, very friendly and helpful!

There was a full (and smelly) ashtray on the balcony table. Not a showstopper, but as non-smoker it wasn't a nice surprise.
