    Pros +

    • Location was excellent! Front desk young lady from Poland was a pleasure to meet and chat with!!
    • It was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was great and the staff were very helpful.
    • We stayed here as a group of eight. The breakfast was relatively decent — unfortunately, that was the only positive aspect of our stay.

    Cons -

    • Shower hand held sprayer shot water every were!
    • The hotel rooms were very poorly equipped: no tables, no shelves, and no luggage racks, which is quite unusual for a hotel. When we raised these concerns, the staff simply told us there was nothing they could offer to help.Several of us booked water-view rooms in advance but were all given street-facing rooms instead. When we asked about this, we were told that the “water view” was just a website description.
    • Nothing. It was perfect!

The location is near the water and tucked away for a very quiet stay. The staff were very friendly and our room was very spacious and clean.

We stayed in the Old Church and it was amazing!! Beautiful, quirky, quaint. Worth every penny! The included breakfast was also wonderful and included local cod liver oil shots for an authentic experience.

    Nothing. It was perfect!

    A place to stay

VERY noisy with the guests above us stomping around and moving things. NO soundproofing at all. VERY tiny, cramped bathroom. The room was right by the front door and registration desk.

The one bedroom apartment with ocean view had truly an awesome view. Well furnished, neat and very clean. Note that you have to climb up a flight of stairs with your bags, and it's in a different house than the main hotel. Breakfast was good as well. Very friendly staff.

Website mentions kitchenette, but only coffee maker and toaster are there.

Modern and cozy hotel right at the water. Single room was tight but certainly enough to move around, unpack and bathroom was totally sufficient. We also enter the church to accommodate a few of our group, and it was spectacular! We had a lovely evening hanging out in the living area after dinner at the hotel restaurant which one of best dinners we had in Iceland.

Really appreciated front desk clerk recommendations, walking the nearby sea wall and seeing a seal eat his dinner. Great dinner service and breakfast and unique accommodation in the church.

Quaint location and scenic water view, friendly and helpful staff, dinner and breakfast were excellent, rooms clean and comfortable. Wonderful vibe and experience.

Great location; excellent food; very friendly staff

    Expensive for the basic accommodation

Cute town and we had a good spot for the hotel. People are really nice and the restaraunt was good.

Room was very hot and beds were hard. Couldn't get much air in from outside.

    10RachelPosted on: 3-3-2025

Staff was very welcoming and friendly. The receptionist went out of her way to make sure we had comfortable rooms. The lock on my first room didn't work properly. When the receptionist couldn't adjust it to make it easier to lock and open, she upgraded my room. We arrived soon after the kitchen closed, but the waitress had the chef bring us mushroom soup and bread. She went out of her way to be sure we were taken care of despite the late hour.

A beautiful old church turned into a suite, the location, the views, delicious food and super friendly staff.

    10BeuermanPosted on: 10-30-2024

Amazingly quirky accomodations and everything we were told they would be. We sent photos to all our friends and rave out our stay there to everyone

Not a critcism but it is important to know that the bathroom facilities are upstairs in the old choir loft and that the stairs are quite steep. Older people or small children or people with limited mobility should know this going in

Authentic icelandic big house. Nice interior design in the common area of the 'hotel'. Spacious nice common area. Friendly and helpful receptionist who was also the bartender, restaurant manager/waitress. Simple but good breakfast. Nice location near the beach. Clean and tidy.

It is rather a glorified B&B with a resto and a bar. The room had ventilation problems. Moist windows. The shower was good but very small. The bathroom window has no blinds. The people walking on the beach and parking could look into the bathroom and see you which they did. A problem esp. when you are taller than 1.65m and you come out of the shower. Also people outside can look right into your bedroom if you do not let the bedroom curtains shut. We were on the 2nd floor. The 'hotel' does not have good sound insulation. You can hear toilets flushing and showers not only from next door but also from other rooms. This starts at 07:15. Also someone felt the urge to shower in the middle of the night . No TV in the room although there is a dedicated place on the wall for it. No water cooker for tea and no deca coffee in the room. No elevator. The 'hotel' has 2 floors but the stairs are not very steep and are wide.

    Nice staffGood location

Very expensive compared to other much better hotels we’ve stayed at in Iceland. Breakfast options limited No TV in room. Very small rooms No elevator despite being newly renovated.

Friendly staff. Impressive seaview apartment (we got a free upgrade) on the porch with nice living area, kitchen and dining room, a bathroom with showers and one spacious bedroom. Good selection of breakfast. The hotel is situated on a great location if you are looking for a nice stay along the Ring Road in the north. The town has everything to offer.

The key is a bit difficult to lock and unlock the apartment door ...

Friendly and helpful staff Great food in the restaurant Great location close to the ocean. Our room had ocean views from which you could see whales!

Hotel Blonduos was great but there's not much else in the town
