Meister BÄR HOTEL Frankenwald

We have been there several times years back, as it is excellently situated a days driving from Denmark. The hotel has had a difficult time after previous owners. But it's improving considerably under a new management - many thanks to the very nice receptionist :-). It will soon return to its previous glory, as rooms have been renovated, only lacking the final touch.

The carpets are from the old days, and the balcony in our room would benefit from a new one (or removal of the old one). Otherwise nothing; the bathroom was excellent fx.

Very good breakfast. Comfy beds, spacious and clean room. Friendly and helpful staff.

We knew that the hotel practically "overlooks" the motorway, but tripple-glased windows were to muffle the traffic noise. In spite of this, the motorway was still very audible (the windows were closed). Luckily, we were so tired that we fell asleep nonetheless and slept soundly all night long ...

Cozy hotel perfectly situated right at the motorway exit. Very friendly staff, and a cozy little restaurant where you can have a light dinner and where you also eat breakfast. We got a large room with sofa group and balcony. We think it was fantastic for the price.

Just next to the exit of a major highway. Quiet room despite the fact that it faced the motorway.

Breakfast choice was rather limited. Young staff in the breakfast room were very friendly but could barely speak any German or English.

We loved the location, the reception staff were super friendly and always answered the phone and helped us twice. They were really helpful at breakfast. When I asked for special dietary requirements, the room was very comfortable and clean.

It would be nice to have vegan options without having to ask and even then there was only a few bits of vegetable on offer. We would’ve loved a room with a bath but that’s nothing to do with the property

lady on reception was very confused during check in , the room had a bad smell most likely from the carpet .We came at 9.00 Am for breakfast and the food selection was limited

The staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good, room was large and bed was comfortable.

No air conditioning, however with the balcony door open the room cooled down well. The rooms are a bit dated but still fine.

Everething was great. Very close to highway, breakfast could be little better but in general it was nice. Great for taking a rest from a long drive.

Very big room for a single person booking, great bathroom and a hair dryer! Breakfast was OK, nothing special but good.

No fridge in the room, no air conditioning... And no bug nets in the windows so you can't really keep them fully open...Only very open parking spots for motorcycles.

Breakfast is SUPER. Reception BEST. Servant for breakfast absolut PROFESSIONELLA.

Very nice hotel, nice view and very nice people working there. Good breakfast and good information about the surronding areas. Nice rooms with good lighting and nice bathroom.

Only 1 little problem was that the shower was only cold and the water didnt go down the drain fast enough so there was water on the bathroom floor even though I didnt use much water since it was very cold.

Good localization for one night stay.

The restaurant was closed, there is no possible to eat in the hotel.

breakfast was good, location in that way that you can stay night there when you are going across germany

First room smelled very bad, it seemed that it was smoking room before but not anymore, still the smell was intelarable. Luckily got another room that seemed more modern and didn't have that smell. Desk would be nice to put your laptop on.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The location close to the Autobahn was in principle good

The restaurant was not open. Breakfast was available, but in the morning only a trainee was present, and several breakfast items needed to be asked for explicitly.We originally, before making the booking, asked whether charging an e-car was possible, and the answer was "yes". However, once we were there, we were told that the (weak) charging station would only have been available till midnight (not overnight). The public charging station relatively close (about 5 km distance) was not operational.

I reserved family room, as we are two adults and 2 smal kids. Unfortunatly, once we arrived at the hotel, we were told that no family room was available. So they split us in two rooms. Not terrible, but definitly far from ideal.

Very convenient on the motorway. Easy to find after a long day of travel, and integrated restaurant meant we could eat and sleep. All we needed. There was a lift so we could easily get our suitcases upstairs.

Very loud motorway noise, and room was so warm it was impossible to sleep with windows closed. So “soundproofed” windows were useless and traffic noises started before 5 am. Chose suite to have two “beds” but one was a sleeper sofa which was absolutely not comfortable at all. Like sleeping across a block of wood with two cushions at head and foot.

Friendly staff, nice spacious room, good breakfast.
