Hotel Mühle

Charming hotel, old fashioned "SERVICE" their main goal. Our 2 rooms were delightful, spacious & recently refurbished. Breakfasts & dinner were delicious. On departure they picked us up where we turned in our rental car then took us to the airport.

This was a stop over enroute to Lake Como. The on-line pictures do not do the property justice, as initial impression is that it might be a bit drab. In reality it is a nice property, just decorated in dark colours. The room we had was very comfortable, large, well decorated and clean. We chose it mainly as it is located a little off one of the main routes into Switzerland and so cannot comment more broadly on the area. You do need to book the restaurant in advance, as it is very popular with locals. The restaurant was excellent, as was the service, if a little pricey. A good continental style breakfast, more geared to a German taste (to be expected). There is a small pool and plenty of areas to sit out at and enjoy a drink, We would certainly recommend the property.

It would have been nicer with a more "international" breakfast.

I was there for a week during Eurovision in nearby Basel, much better value for money than staying in Switzerland and only 15 min away.Big room ,parking space, very friendly personnel especially at breakfast (Sasa) .Didn't try the pool area or the restaurant for dinner. Room was spacious and clean.

Honestly I was very pleased can't think of anything that the room lacked maybe an iron but it could be done through the hotel or a mini fridge. Could use a coat rack or a bench to put luggage.

The shower under the roof was a bit tricky for someone taller, the 2 spiders in the shower unexpected, and the bottle of shampoo filled with water surprising

Nice spacious room and everything is tidy and clean.

The restaurant undoubtedly serve delicious food, but we would have preferred a less gastronomic - and less costly dinner.

No wifi in the annex, shower leaked, shower doors didn’t close…

Generous size of the room which allowed for a seating area to be included. Evening meal was fantastic and were able to cater for those with food intolerances. Atmosphere in the hotel was great due to attentiveness of the staff. Breakfast was also enjoyable. A small swimming pool for the brave! Easy walk-in distance to a local bar for a drink before the evening meal

Opening the door to the room was interesting!

We felt totally at home as we did each time we came in the past few years. Thank you for your kind hospitality❤️

The room was a bit warm, it turned out the heating was on in the bathroom. Also the handle of the bathroom door was loose and needed fixing.

Quiet location. Good and fancy restaurant. Breakfast was good as well.

Curtains are not black out curtains and streetlight/garage light of property shines into bedroom.

Hotel staff was absolutely great. Nice and clean room, beds good, location good.

Only thing missing from the room is the option to make some tea or coffee in the Junior Suite.

The location was perfect for your drive from Northern Italy to Germany. The hotel is extremely well managed & the staff professional, personable & have a sense of humour.

Comfy bed and crisp clean sheets. Staff was very friendly, nice decor & artwork, and a good breakfast.

No place to write or work, just a sloping antique cabinet; only one chair. Drain in shower in the wrong place.

The hotel is not too big, with a nice atmosphere. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good.

The hotel restaurant was extremely overpriced (prices almost reaching the lower Michelin star levels). We're normally not unwilling to pay a high price for good food, but in this case, the price-quality balance was wrong.The tartar starter was very nice, and the only dish that really stood out in positive sense. The main dishes were mediocre. We payed 40 euros per main dish, with the meat bland and overcooked and no presentation whatsoever (the food was basically just thrown on the plate).As for serving kids, there is no real kids menu (our 6y old son ended up with a 30 euro schnitzel and some Rosti), and drink options are limited to water, cola, orange juice or apple juice.The desserts were tasty, but again on the expensive side for what you get.Finishing on a positive note, the wine we got advised was absolutely excellent. The waiter took the effort to let us sample 2 different wines he advised, after which we ended up with a very nice Spatburgunder.
