Pros +
- Very nice place with very helpful staff and owners.
- Lovely family run hotel, very welcoming staff, great restaurant and comfortable roomSmall spa area that is included in price
- nice hotel, very poor mannered and rude staff.
Cons -
- Quite limited food offer for both breakfasts and dinners - where the last one was with no choice at all - unless you request a change.
- The hotel room was very loud. The staff and owner was extremely rude to us and disrespectful. We had booked through booking.com all of our hotels and booking.com charged us for the hotel automatically for the rest of our trip. For some reason, Cavaillino did not do the same. When we checked out there was no one at the front desk so we assumed it was fine to leave like all other hotels we stayed at. However I got several rude emails within 24 hours threatening to call the Italian police on us for not paying the tax. Additionally when telling Armin we would pay immediately he did not answer his phone calls and told us he was “busy” but not busy enough to threaten us and send us an email in all caps? In the US we typically do not need to check out manually since we pay online. Armin was not understanding and so rude saying it was “not a matter of being polite” even though we addressed the issue immediately. If you run a hotel and have international customers with other customs or systems you should learn to be more patient or at least not be so accusatory. Im really dissapointed by the lack of warmth, rudeness, and harsh written messages. For a three star hotel i expect a lot more maturity from the owner
- Nothing! If I had to make one comment, it would be nice to have a small refrigerator in the room but not a big deal.

Having visited over 30 countries in Europe, the Cavallino is our favorite hotel! The staff at this beautiful family run hotel are all wonderful. The property has been in the family since the mid-1800's. The new hotel was built in 2010 and was built to very high standards. The food (both breakfast and dinner) are delicious. Definitely purchase the pre-paid dinner: a delicious 5-course meal and, If the pre-set menu doesn't suit you, you can order off of their dinner menu. They offer several vegetarian entrees. The views from the rooms are amazing! We stayed three nights. On the first night of our stay, the hotel provided complimentary drinks and appetizers before dinner on the back patio. This was our third stay at the Cavallino in ten years and we are never disappointed. At 5 or 6 pm, the local cows are paraded up the street wearing their bells. Fun to watch!Even some of the lovely art work was created by mother and daughter of the large hotel family.
Nothing! If I had to make one comment, it would be nice to have a small refrigerator in the room but not a big deal.
the hotel was very clean, the rooms are huge, and the staff very kind and helpful.
nothing to object
We loved Hotel Cavallino - spacious rooms, kind staff, we had an excellent view with a small patio, a kitchenette you could easily prepare meals in, lovely dinner, easy parking, quiet, and the spa was a bonus. We can't wait to return!
Spa hours are relatively limited, I imagine it could get crowded during busy seasons. Firm beds and small shower, this seems to be just about everywhere in Italy we've stayed though.
Nice location and the food
The slipper cost $3 a pair , which didn’t tell us while charge us in the final bill
Welcoming staff, great location, excellent dinners
service, property and location
no mini bar in room and mattress of extra bed too hard
Everything in this family-owned hotel is just adorable to make you feel like at home. Stunning views, impeccable customer service by the owner and all the staff always with a smile, very clean and well-maintained facilities, spacious room, attention to details, top quality restaurant and free wine tasting, secure garage, nice spa area. We strongly recommend this hotel and will definitely come again!
A little fridge in the room would be useful.
The service. The staff. The location.
The lack of refrigerator, the lack of airconditioner.
The hotel was in a beautiful tranquil location central to our main points of interest for our time in the Dolomites (1.25hr from Tre Cime di Lavaredo, 1hr from Seceda/Col Raiser, 1 hr from Lago di Braises/Prager Wildsee). The rooms were large with comfortable bedding. The entire property was spotless. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our stay included breakfast and dinner at an extremely affordable price. The meals were very good with fixed menus thay could be altered upon request. The spa was simple but had everything we needed including modern infrared saunas, steam rooms, traditional saunas, whirlpool, and a relaxation room. Overall, the stay was very enjoyable and affordable.
We liked pretty much everything. Although there was all the coffee I wanted at breakfast, I am usually dependent upon a cup once I get out of bed, so not having a coffee maker in the room was not an essential miss, but I did move a little slower until breakfast was ready.
We loved everything about the property. It is a family run hotel, and they all go out of their way to make sure that your stay is fantastic. The food at the restaurant is amazing. The room was absolutely incredible. It was one of the most gorgeous views. We only stayed two nights, but could have stayed a lot longer. We cannot recommend this place enough.
nothing – everything was fantastic.
The views from the hotel are amazing. The staff were excellent, the hotel has a relaxed atmosphere. The spa facilities were clean . Breakfast was really good.
Facilities were amazing. Staff were really friendly. Food was delicious both breakfast and dinner. The room was spacious and had an incredible view of the mountain. Would definitely recommend.
The hotel, its owner and staff are just excellent! We liked the personal approach, the spacious and comfortable room, we loved breakfasts and especially dinners! The location couldn't be better for skiers and nature lovers. Everything was fantastic, thanks a lot!

Nice, well-furnished room with a view of the hills. Friendly welcome. Good evening meal. They were happy to alter the presented set menu to allow for a dietary intolerance. Good breakfast. We were offered garage parking but did not use it.
The spa is in a separate building and because we only stayed one night we were not given gowns to use. This meant having to undress and then put clothes back on again in the area which wasn’t relaxing. The sauna was a bit cold and the relaxation area dark and unwelcoming.
Our stay at Hotel Cavallino was wonderful. Very comfortable, clean, and spacious room with a cute balcony. Delicious dinner and breakfast. All of the staff members were lovely and very accommodating. The owner is great and clearly puts a lot of work and heart into the space. They have a great spa right across the street where we enjoyed the sauna, which was perfect after a day of hiking. We would absolutely come back and recommend this place to anyone that will be in the area!
What a wonderful stay - everything was great. The spa facilities are wonderful. The restaurant was quite good - and the salad bar an excellent deal. The best hotel we stayed in during our five week European trip!
