Mama Shelter Paris La Defense

Clean area, has a young vibe and the staff is nice and friendly. The shower is great, the bed is comfortable but the duvet was a bit too warm for us at night, even with the AC on. Clean spacious room with space to hand your clothes. The check out is at 12h00 which is a plus if you want to have a slow morning. The breakfast is delicious and has everything you need eggs, bacon, fruit, yougurt, crepes, bread, etc. They also have a professional coffee machine to make good espressos and they have a selection of tea and fresh orange juice. The place is easy to find and we had a view of La Defense buildings , very modern. Also worth mentioning, the breakfast is at the 14th floor and you have a great view with La Tour Eiffel in the middle of the scenery.

Location

We booked a room for 1 night. Our flight was delayed and I informed the hotel that we will arrive only in the morning through booking com messages. I also twice asked if they could give me directions for the parking. I didn’t get any answers. On arrival we were told that our room was given to someone else because of “no show”. They also told that its ok that they don’t always read messages in bookings com system. Finally we were given the downgrade room. There was no shower gel or shampoo in the room. After check out we tried to talk to manager about the situation. And we were told that they are absolutely right and that they had right not to give us any room at all. That was quite strange as it was fully prepaid booking. Very strange approach taking into account we were traveling with a child and really needed this room for several hours to refresh after hard flight

Design and comfort

Breakfast is not diverse and as a Muslim not so much halal thing to eat.

New, stylish, nice bathroom and clean. The staff is variable. The deposit for the room is excessively high.

Pleasant

No electricity for 30 mins in the morning...and no back-up/generator.

Friendly staff. And in the business district.

For the price, the facilities are not up to the mark. Small room with no closets. Breakfast is average, and toiletries are exceptionally basic.The AC vent screen in my room was completely missing.

Bad

It did not look like at all like the pictures. The room was very stuffy and air not clean. We couldn’t stay with the kids and had to find somewhere else

I liked the comfortable bed, the big shower, the toiletries but mostly the delicious and diversified breakfast served at the 14th floor. I enjoyed the breakfast so much and looked forward to it every morning

Shower in the bathroom didn't worked, there was no hot water and water pressure

the breakfast was amazing!! as always. the only think I miss is the option to order poached eggs (ideally with holandaise sauce)

The Staff took real great care of my brother & I. First, they upgraded us to a big suite and the day that we left they didn't charge us for parking which was 30 eur.We went there for the Paul Mccartney concert and it was very close to the Hotel a brisk 20 min walk.Breakfast was also very good with a special view of the Eiffel Tower :).Will go back there for sure!

We stayed one night in Mama Shelter as we went to a concert in La Defense Arena. The location was great as we could walk back after the concert. In our room, I especially loved the bed - the comfiest bed we slept in during our trip. Our room was spacious and clean.We also loved the breakfast buffet: although it was more expensive than in other hotels we stayed, it was big. The hotel concept is playful and nice. We appreciated the free flippers at the reception.

Some of the staff at the reception weren't that friendly, barely saying hello. I paid attention to this as we arrived to Mama from another (much cheaper) hotel that had great service. As the concept is "Mama loves you", I wish they would show this loving attitude a bit more.Also, a bit unhappy with the shower as the water temperature changed a bit, from warm to cooler all of the sudden. Managed to shower anyways so not a big problem.

Difficult to find the entrance and exit.

I recently stayed at this hotel and while the overall experience was pleasant, the breakfast service was disappointing. The staff didn't clean the tables in a timely manner, leaving them cluttered with plates and cutlery from previous guests. Many tables were dirty, covered in crumbs and debris, which detracted from the dining experience. Improvements in this area would greatly enhance the stay.
