Pros +
- The breakfast was well stocked and high quality, and the location was excellent. Generally speaking the hotel is good value for money if you are purely looking for a bed and hot shower in close proximity to the slopes.
- If you are looking for simple and lower cost accommodation and a lovely ski resort, we would recommend. The staff at Hotel Valerie were very friendly and accommodating, it was lovely to chat to them. The bed was very comfortable and had more than enough room in the bedroom & bathroom. Location was good, only a very short walk downhill to the first lift. Lots of options for ski hire and a small supermarket where we picked up some snacks etc. Great for families who might want a quieter evening. Our balcony looked onto the very pretty church, the bells ring 3 times an hour from 8am - 10pm, caused no problems for us but might not be ideal for young children.
- Breakfast was adequate. Staff not very friendly . Basic accommodation but hardly in it .
Cons -
- The rooms were only equipped with one pilow and a thin duvet, which could easily be solved. The entrance to the hotel, and even up into some of the rooms had a very strong smell of cigarette smoke.
- Our room was cleaned everyday but we did notice some grit on the floors when barefoot. The bathroom was a little outdated and needed a shower screen, it made it quite difficult to stand and shower. Our only other issue was the ski lockers. While there is a ski storage room, there are no individual lockers and no lock on the outside door onto the main street, meaning we took our boots up to the room so they weren't at risk of being taken. The locker room was heated but not enough to fully dry boots for the next morning. The evenings in the town were very quiet. We only found 3/4 possible restaurants so ended up going back to the same places a few times. It seemed that most people must be eating & drinking in Chalets or Hotels rather than going out in the evenings.
- The proprietor wasn’t at all friendly. More of how can I not help you !

The location was so close to the slopes. Breakfast was good. Choice of eggs, cheese, ham and cereals. Tea coffee and juice. Plenty of bread fruit and pastries.

Location is fabulous, great value for money, Bar downstairs if you fancy a pint .Clean , with a nice couple running the place
Hotel is alitte tired but we expected that due to the price. Bar downstairs can something stop you going to bed before 10.30, but it's not open every night.Walls are very thin, you hear every one moving around in there rooms .Bed wasn't particularly comfortable and the pillows where big and square and very thin ,like something off a sofa. No shower curtain in bathroom
Simple continental breakfast. More than adequate for a day's skiing.
Bathroom was a half bath with shower over. Unfortunately no shower curtain so had to sit in bath to try to avoid flooding the floor. Otherwise absolutely delightful stay.
A small hotel located almost in the center of town. The French bread at breakfast was very delicious.
I booked a Mountain View room, but the view from the window was completely of the neighboring houses. Given the hotel's location, it's likely that none of the Mountain View rooms actually offer a view of the mountains.Since there are no shared spaces, the small room is the only area available. It's fine for a short stay, but for a longer stay, the limited space may become an issue, so I wouldn’t recommend it.
Great location and friendly staff, upgraded our room to a Mountain View.
Little bit dated.
Very friendly host, cozy room and good breakfast. The location is great and beautiful.
The breakfasts were good and decent value for money. Certainly better than having to find somewhere to eat every morning. The ski room in the basement was perfectly functional too.
For the price point there wasn't really anything to complain about. The hostess was helpful and accommodating, the breakfasts were good and the rooms were kept clean. What more could we reasonably expect for the price?
Location and view are hard to beat.
The hotel is very dirty and very noisy.
Rooms were warm, dry, clean and well looked after. We had plenty of towel changes and bathroom replenishments. The management were lovely and their dog Rambo was beautiful.
Breakfast was ok for most of my party. Pastries, yogurts, boiled eggs etc. I'm Gluten free and no options to make the breakfast worth it for me.
More GF options!
location was great
Lady on reception was very rude & not very pleasant especially at breakfast time !
Good breakfast, nice staff,, own parking lot
No chairs on the balcony
Location is perfect for snowboarding/skiing. The hotel has an area to store your board/skis and change into your boots. Rooms are great, basic but cosy while still being spacious.
We booked a 2 star hotel and this is what Hotel Valerie is, yes the room was on the small side and also the bathroom but this is 2 star so we didn’t expect more. We slept like logs, the water was always piping hot and Madame couldn’t have been nicer, even letting us use one bedroom after the check out time to store all our bags in till we departed which meant we and our friends could change and sort ourselves out in comfort before heading to the airport after squeezing in a half day of skiing. Breakfast was very good too.
Slight smell of smoke in the mornings which may have been other guests smoking in their rooms.
so close to the centre and the slopes.
breakfasts were simple and relatively expensive but very convenient.
the hotel was about 2 minutes from the lifts which was brilliant. Our host was lovely and so accommodating on our last day. breakfast was simple but set us upperfectly for a day on the slopes!
The breakfast at the hotel was good value, with plenty of choice in addition to croissants there were cheese, ham, brioche, cereal and home made apple cake, which was lovely, range of juices and hot drinks plus some fresh fruit.Beds were comfortable and good storage space. The ski locker in the basement with door out into the street was really practical and appreciated. The lady owner was always friendly, chatty and helpful.
The rooms were generally clean but some dust under the beds and in corners. The decor was quite dated and the bathroom had a bath with a shower fitting fitting but no shower curtain meaning you could not have a stand up shower. Plenty of hot water though.
