Matakana Motel

Great location and friendly helpful staff

Cleanliness could have been to a higher standard. Housekeeping appeared to have left before finishing when we arrived as one of the beds was unmade, some items weren’t supplied and some rubbish was left behind from previous guests. In saying that the staff were very apologetic and sorted it straight away. Overall it was a good stay and great location, however at over $300 a night, the standard could have been a bit higher.

Great location in the heart of Matakana but in a quiet side street. Microwave, fridge, toaster and kettle, plus cutlery meant we could have a late dinner after a long day

Lovely motel. Much better than I was expecting. It was very clean and comfortable with everthing we needed.The pool looked lovely even though we didn't use it.The motel is just a few steps away from all the Matakana shops and coffee. Would definitely stay again.

Nicely renovated and spacious units. Everything was clean and fresh.

Very uncomfortable Queen bed, although the single beds in the other bedroom were fine.

The location to town is superb, staff are super friendly and the place has had a major upgrade since we were last here. Room 19 is a newer room, very nicely spec’d. (Room 18-20 are newest)

More chairs around the pool could be nice

Spotless. Quiet yet right in the centre of this lovely little village. 'The comfy bed' is always top priority for us and thus was definitely a 10/10 !

Staff, cleanliness, amenities and location.

Clean well appointed space, comfortable bed.

Clean, newly designed. The motel is situated in the centre of Matakana, allowing us to explore the city easily on foot.

Several people got Flea bites in the room we stayed in. The mattresses were too cushy, so quite a few people complained about back pain.

Great location, clean & fresh and very quiet

The reception was amazing. Rooms were so clean and pool was so nice. Such a close walk to all the shops and restaurants. So inviting and beautiful.

There was one thing that didn’t sit to well with us is that in the mornings - staff would enter into our rooms with their keys - no knocking or notice that they were entering - even just to make sure we were decent. In one case - one of the tenants was actually half dressed and was extremely shocked by the intrusion. It was just a confronting experience. We would definitely stay there again - but just thought that it’s something to please keep in mind of your guest privacy and house keeping etiquette.

I loved everything good place with kids. The pool was a bonus and close to the little town you can walk

The private balcony

The lighting was awful. The lights in the lounge over the TV were blinding, can’t believe lights like that could be installed in a small room. By contrast, the bedside light was so dim I couldn’t read by it.

Very clean, spacious studio room with great amenities. So handy to main street just steps away.
