- Breakfast was awesome!!View was amazing!Room was very cute and well cared for!Loved the ability to walk around the facility and discover paths and lots of beautyTour of the fortress was lots of fun and very interestingMy vegetarian option for dinner was deliciousloved the swimming cove and ability to walk down to itstaff were amazing and super friendly
- The service was excellent, the food and the atmosphere are unique.it's a shame that you couldn't visit the castle. More information about the season for visiting the castle would be needed, but if you want to spend time away from the hustle and bustle of the city, it's a wonderful place
- The breakfast was super - and being able to eat on the tables in the garden -looking out at the sea/sound was really special. The access to using their bicycles and being able to cycle to the ferry and then to the other islands (Vaxholm) was really great. The staff were so kind and accommodating - organising us on the bicycles, suggesting day excursions, booking kayaking for us. I took two teenagers - who are not the usual age profile of guests for the hotel - but they really made them feel welcome.
Cons -
- The bathroom drains are a touch musty smelling.... but the building is old!
- A little expensive per night

A quiet location, but accessible by bus or ferry from Stockholm. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We went on their free fortress tour, and they gave us a lift to the ferry. There are lots of lovely places to admire the views, including the cruise ships going by.

Fabulous location, friendly, helpful staff and excellent food.
Great location in the archipelago seeing the huge ships passing by, good home made breakfast, friendly staff, nice traditional Swedish house, extremely clean and nice rooms
A little expensive per night
Rooms with own entrance very close to each other and we could hear the neighbors.
A lot of breakfast options (both sweet and continental), the atmosphere and the chance to visit the fortress, the private bathtub, the location, using bikes for a couple of hours for free

Breakfast was good. Lunch and dinner were superb. The staff really helped to make us feel on vacation by offering support to sit outside at night (blanckets etc.), food and drinks when we needed, ...
We wanted a break from hard travel and are so glad we chose Fredriksborg. The rooms are very simple with a terrific outlook. The location is remarkable, on a hill above the deep water channel going in and out of Stockholm. The first time we saw a huge ship gliding by above eye level was a happy surprise. The dinner served at their restaurant was superb. But the best of all is the staff. They take great pride in the history of the location and its role in the defense of Stockholm in centuries past. Pontus (spelling ?) went out of his way to show us the property as well as to drive us to the ferry for the return to Stockholm. We were very appreciative.
It’s not easy to get there without a car. The bus from Stockholm is not frequent but we enjoyed the drive once we exited Stockholm. A very pleasant 1 km walk from the bus stop was necessary but certainly worth it. We were sorry we couldn’t stay longer.
Amazing location overlooking the shipping straight between Värmdö and Rindo. Lovely helpful staff.
Amazing location in the archipelago! Lovely staff, excellent food, comfy beds!
The twin beds were not attached and it was easy to ‘fall’ down the gap in between when sleeping as a couple.
Scenery is amazing. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Location was off the beaten track - perfect for a holiday.
The size of the room was a bit small. But otherwise very comfortable.
Amazing views over stockholm archipelago, incredible setting and delicious food
Lovely buffet breakfast of Swedish things with lots of choice
Honestly can't think of anything! The hotel is located on the coast, with beautiful forest behind full of deer. Guests wanting night-life or activities in the late evening may be better off somewhere a bit busier, but we loved it.
very nice area and wonderful view and quiet area.
Nothing special.
The place is fantastic. Everything from the room with a beautiful view, food to the location.
Right in the middle of the beautiful Stockholm Archipelago, on a narrow canal through which the ferries linking Stockholm and Helsinki navigate, sits this wonderful historic place. Our room was a bit small but very cozy and had a nice terrace and a wonderful view. The restaurant is good and the managers and other staff extremely friendly.
We would have preferred a shower; the bathtub may be more cottage style but is hard to get in and out of. The restaurant is good but offers the same three choices for starter, main course and dessert all Summer long. If you’re staying several days as we did that gets a bit repetitive and there are no real alternatives nearby.
Cozy and clean room in an historical building. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast options, and the restaurant served great dinners. The location is close to well maintained hiking trails. A very relaxing stay!
Wifi connection should be improved in the rooms
Fantastic location, tranqulity, friendly staff, delicious food
