    Pros +

    • Beautiful hotel, with lovely atmosphere and great concierge. The breakfast was amazing, and also the room was spacious and clean. We had a great time.
    • Beautifully decorated hotel in good location.
    • - Unusual interior with fantastic bathroom

    Cons -

    • There was quite a lot of noise from an exhaust fan on the roof in our room (2nd floor with bath). Fortunately, it was turned off once the restaurant stopped working so not a problem at night.
    • - There was no light on the last floor in the hall during two days and it was totally dark, we have used flashlight to reach our room and we did not feel safe- There was balcony in our room, but we were not able to us it as it range hood from nearby restaurant was located close to it- Breakfast was not served when we arrived to the restaurant in the morning. We were waiting for 10 minutes once it is prepared and it was not buffet, but more like turkish breakfast
    • I am not a fan of the breakfasts served at this hotel. The coffee is also average.

I really enjoyed my stay at Communal Hotel Plekhanovi. The hotel offers a modern standard and comfort, but what valued most was the charm and unique style of my room and other facilities. For example, my bathroom had a skylight above the bathtub and had a yoga mat for guests to use. I would recommend to chose to have breakfast included, as it was a nice mezze tray with a large number of small breakfast dishes, together with eggs of your choice. The restaurant downstairs (Weller) offers excellent Libanese food, so I would highly recommend to stay for dinner or lunch there. Staff was very friendly and professional and helped me store my luggage after checkout.

Cozy and beautiful hotel. Stylish interior. Good location on a quiet street. I liked everything very much!

    Tasty restaurant

Windows were locked, I asked the lady at the reception to help me to fix it as I need some fresh air, she did nothing unfortunately. Said that she called the repair staff but nobody answered, which is sounds strange as I saw technician guy 5 min earlier at the hotel.

    9MikalaiPosted on: 1-3-2024

The staff was excellent; we had an issue with the air conditioner, and they promptly called a technician to fix it on the same day. The location is pleasantly quiet, with a 30-minute walk to the city center (mostly flat!). We had a room with a bathtub, which was fantastic for relaxing at the beginning or end of the day. Perfect omelet for breakfast, but coffee is not for everyone, it tastes bitter.

The room was smaller than we had expected, and we had to maneuver carefully between the wall and the bed to get into the bathtub. During our winter stay, we noticed that the room could get rather chilly on colder days.

Breakfast is excellent! Very rich and in georgian style which I liked very much. Staff is very kind. Great hospitality.

Great location, cozy and comfortable room with good, firm bed. Great artwork in the stairwell.

Cozy little room on the top floor with nice view to the city. Delicious breakfast with wide option for vegetarians.

Since it gets warm quickly in the attic, our window, the one on the courtyard side, was open almost all the time. Unfortunately, in the afternoon/evening it smelled quite strongly of cooked food. It probably came from the restaurant kitchen.

Exquisitely designed hotel conveniently located close to the train station in a fairly quiet part of the city. Breakfast is fabulous with a mix of Georgian and Mediterranean flavours. Room (no8) was tidy with a comfortable bed, clean bathroom, well placed lights and even a little balcony.

The restaurant downstairs can be a bit noisy and sound proofing towards the road could have been better. One of the two windows we had lacked curtains so morning sun got into the room. We complained about this after the first night but nothing happened. We slept well despite of these issues.

Nice and relaxed staff, nice stylished bar and restaurant with good breakfast and lunch / dinner, and in a calm area close to the railway station. There is also another restaurant next to the hotel, Craft, which belongs to the hotel and which I can also highly recommend.

There was a dog barking regularly in the backyard of my room, but of course the hotel cannot for that.

The most amazing breakfast and the bar has great cocktails. Our room was really stylish and comfortable with a big bath and large bed. Staff were helpful enough by giving us numbers for a tour company.

Not a great deal of other things nearby, a little overpriced.

The extra decorative touches and kind staff

We thought the space was a little tight, but we’re visiting from the US and just used to big rooms

The staff were really friendly and helpful, the location was great, breakfast was delicious. The room was great with working AC and a very nice bathroom

As it happened, I stayed in both of the Communal hotels (the other is the Sololaki) when in Tbilisi, and while this one was in some ways nicer, it also fell short -- or at least was different -- in a couple of other ways. On the plus side, it's a beautiful building and the rooms were terrific -- airy and quiet. My room was on third floor and there is no elevator, not a problem for me, but some people might not like humping up three flights of stairs. There was also a restaurant in the hotel which had a good lunch and is well regarded for dinner, according to the reviews -- I didn't eat there myself. The neighborhood is, I gather, a trendy one, but it is a fair way to the center of the city and about a 10-minute walk to the nearest subway station -- there's also a lot of traffic in the area; it's not noisy, but busy. The breakfast was very good but, for some reason, it was not included in the price of the room as it was at the Sololaki, and when I asked why, the reason wasn't entirely clear. The hotel staff was friendly and eager, but not particularly helpful when it came to local restaurants, etc. Also, not to nit pick, but on my first day there, when I came down to breakfast, someone had spilled coffee on the marble stairs, making for a couple of slippery spots. I mentioned it, twice to the affable guy at the front desk, and both times he assured me that housekeeping would clean it up when they came in -- which was about an hour later. In the name of safety, in my opinion, he should have grabbed a rag and cleaned it up himself, which would have taken about 30 seconds, actually. So, all in all, maybe a slightly nicer hotel than the Sololaki, but less convenient to the downtown area and a less helpful staff.

This is probably a great hotel if you’re 18-25 and like partying. It’s certainly very hip. There are plants. And neon signs. If you want to get any sleep, on the other hand, it’s probably not for you.

Why is it so DARK?? There were no ceiling lights - only lamps - so I couldn’t see to do my makeup! Also, it was the noisiest hotel I’ve stayed in for years - they were pumping out music till late which i could hear from my room, and then they start it up again early in the morning. It probably depends which room you have, but my room was above the restaurant and felt like sleeping in a club. Water pressure was also very bad. Everyone goes on about the breakfast but when I stayed, the chef didn’t show up to work so there was only basically bread and cheese. On one day, they gave me a packed breakfast because I had a tour - it was a peach and some prunes and a tiny roll. So I had to buy my own breakfast. Finally, the staff were very moody - they never even once greeted me when I walked in the door. I waited 20 minutes to check out before realising that the poor guy working in the restaurant serving breakfast was also on reception! I had to go and drag him from the restaurant!

Breakfast is exceptional. I had a double room (did not have room with bath that other reviews comment on). the Weller restuarant is excellent (run do not walk) and it was a nice change on cuisine after two weeks of delicious georgian cuisines.

Rooms are dark to create the mood
