Villa San Michele, A Belmond Hotel, Florence

From the historic building itself to the food, service, location and people were all fantastic!

No real spa, rooms could do with being updated and there was a wedding right outside our room one evening which really disrupted our sleep.

Everything! Gorgeous setting, lovely, helpful, staff, great food, many thoughtful touches in the large, quiet rooms.

Superb breakfast and unsurpassable location. Staff wonderful.

Exceptional facilities and service

The place is really expensive. But this is the second time we go because we believe it is one of the best hotels in the world

Our room was spectacular. The room service and concierge went above and beyond. Bravo to the team. Highly recommended. As we were attending a wedding, we didn’t have time to sample the Michelin Restaurant but the food at the pool bar was exceptional. We will be back!

Everything was wonderful

Relaxed atmosphere, friendly service orientated staff, great views, comfortable and very convenient location.

The building is historic and beautiful. It is located on a hill. The gardens and pool area have a breath taking view of Florence. The hotel has a very relaxed air coupled with service of a very high order. The staff is very efficient , courteous and attentive. The management ensures highest standards in all services. The cuisine served in the restaurants and the selection of wines in the bar and wine cellar are exquisite. Walks in and around the property are wonderful. There are frequent shuttles to and from Piazza della Repubblica in the heart of Florence with very pleasant chauffeurs.

The property was beautiful! We was greeted by extremely friendly and helpful staff, they could not do enough for you. We were upgraded to a beautiful garden room, which was lovely as it was my birthday. We had reserved a table at the La Loggia restaurant and had the vegetarian tasting menu and it was absolutely incredible. We had in room breakfast the next morning with a view and spent time at the pool, which was very relaxing. We loved that the property was dog friendly, even though we didn’t take ours, it was lovely to cuddle other people’s.

There was not much to improve on. We did have a little issue with the electricity in our room as it kept tripping. It looked as if there was water coming through the bathroom light but the staff were amazing at sorting it and we were only staying for one night so it didn’t cause us much trouble.

A few things In the room were broken and didn’t get fixed. Fridge, bathroom mirror, drawer handle.

the pool was closed for renovation , it was 40 degrees outside and we paid 2000 euros per night (unacceptable in peak season). housekeeping was a bit hit and miss. they left someone else’s food in the room , and took coffee cups which they didn’t replace. massage was also not as advertised.

Everything thing was brithtaking; facility people and location. Service is one of the best I have experienced around the world
