Nao Catedral Boutique Hotel

Great location. Quirky nautical theme, e.g. rotary switches for lights, signs to basement area. Really appreciated basement area with cold soft drinks, chilled water, coffee machine, and little cakes. Room small but comfortable with good air conditioning, wifi. The only staff member I met was one who tidied up rooms and basement area - was very welcoming when I met them.

Directions to apartment through Booking.com on foot from bus station were not quite correct. I suggest clearer directions would be helpful. Check in was on electronic screen in Catalan. I don't speak Catalan but managed based on French/Italian! I was jet lagged so I may not have figured out how to bring up screen in other languages.

The location.

The smell, the ac wasn’t working , so it was really cold.

The fact that it was equiped with everything (hair dryer included). Maybe a comb would have been also nice to have.

you should think about putting a small or retractile desk and chair, because there was not proper place to write or simply put the laptop.

Very clean and tidy. Great location and very quirky and the nautical theme was very nice.

Self check in was quite complex when you had more than one booking. Inc ewe managed to get someone on the phone it was all fine. I work all day with a computer and I’m pretty tech happy and did struggle a little with touch screen and info!

Perfect location, great room, perfectly clean, huge bed!

The only improvement would be a small desk and chair, as there was nowhere to sit but on the bed.

It was clean, easy to find, near many other shops for food and necessities. It’s a close walk to the port and the kiosk to check in is super easy to use.

There’s no lobby to wait in..? and I didn’t know that, so when we arrived early we had to wait on the steps outside for a couple of hours before checkin

The location is great, really cute hotel. There is a breakfast room with coffee etc provided.

There was a drainage smell coming from the bathroom area most days, not unbearable, but would rather of not had it.

Location was amazing and convenient! You’re a short walk away from restaurants, shops, beaches and taxi pick-ups. Our room was spacious, comfortable, modern and well maintained.

The location was central and rooms were cleaned daily.

Unfortunately, the single bedrooms are right at both entry doorways. I was woken up all night long by guests coming and going, the light of the hallway and the noise of people walking outside the hotel (of which, my window opened directly to the street. I didn't sleep through the night the whole stay, so I was very disappointed given the rooms were not cheap. There is no natural lighting in the room either.

We loved it so much. The location was perfect and the room with the private terrace was great for us both. Modern, quiet and really clean.

Only the location

We had a problem with the toilet, it didn't flush. We called the property and didn't get a proper response and solution. We had to call Booking's costumers service so to alert the property. The response was the same, they didn't know when could they fix the toilet. As Booking wasn't helpful we called the property again and after a long and hard conversation they sent mantaince to fix the toilet. The next day the toilet didn't flush again. We had to fixed ourselves. We asked for a change of room or a reimbursement and the property denied both.TV in the room didn't worked either. There was any Spanish channel (in Spain) where we could watch the European Cup final.Very disappointed with Booking's costumers service and definitely nevere going back to Nao Catedral Boutique Hotel. It didn't meet our expectations and it's totally over rated. We paid too much for what the property offers

Great location right in the centre of Ciutadella. Lovely old building and nicely decorated and laid out room.

The self-check-in didn't work so we had to call for help. I do think that if a place is going to call itself a "boutique hotel" it should have a reception desk staffed by humans. The plumbing in our room also wasn't great - after flushing, the toilet water ran for ages (although there are signs up everywhere saying to save water), and there was a dampish/plumbing smell in the room. There is a step down into the room as soon as you enter - there should be a sign up to warn you about this before you open the door.

Super Central location. Quirky hotel with a nautical theme. Nice quick brekkie pick-up if that is your thing. Great size room, fab mood lighting and electric connections. Beautiful views over the rooftops the higher you are. Well soundproofed if you need a quiet night, and excellent air conditioning. Clean and comfortable beds, soft linen and towels. Little fridge if you need to pop in stuff from the nearby supermarket. Easy Check-in and good security. Great breakfast and lunch places a few steps on the left and right, and numerous places around a small radius. Proximity to port and places of interest all a short stroll and chat away. Buzzing city!

Dislikes will be based on the individual - for me, it exceeded my expectations for a last second decision to stay a night away from our resort south of the island.

Perfect location in the heart of the old town. In the "bodega" (basement) they have a facility for complimentary coffee, biscuits, and has utensils for eating if you choose to bring food to the room. We stayed in #19, top unit with rooftop terrace accessible from the room. Big shower, good soap. Friendly gal who serviced the rooms/building. Newer furnishings in a nautical theme. Lots of electrical outlets in the room.

(1) Room #19 has lots of stairs up to the top so one needs to be able to maneuver with luggage. We had no problem, but some may. (2) This hotel is in the pedestrian only section of town so if you are driving here you must plan ahead to park somewhere outside of this area. (3) Check-in is only by kiosk so one needs to be prepared to use kiosk to scan passport, pay by inserting credit card, and receive a card(s) to access the first and unit door. (You can get an additional card by just using the reference code and following the instructions on the screen. The kiosk works in various languages, but you must be patient to figure out how to use the kiosk. I had to call the agency because I had not received an "reference code" to start the process. I'm not sure how I did not receive that as I had pre-registered before arriving. (4) We arrived during a cold spell with rain and wind with temperatures of 54 degree Fahrenheit. Room #19 was COLD (more than outside) with a BREEZE blowing through it. I called twice to the agency, but it was after hours and got only an answering message in Spanish which I did not understand. I left a message in hopes someone would respond. (They later responded in Booking.com messenger, but misunderstood that we were not "HOT" but too "COLD" and the message came too late! We investigated the cold wind and it was coming from a vent above our heads in bed; cold wind coming in from outside. We were able to finally take a piece of paper and cover it to keep most of the wind from blowing on our heads. We stayed two nights. The result of not being able to talk to a live person - the experience was very disappointing.

The hotel is really very nice, design, clean and fragrant. It is also in a perfect location, in the very historic centre next to the cathedral. The heating and air conditioning worked well, as did the window shades. Cleaning and tidiness was perfect.

Did not work self-check and kiosk. So everything had to be dealt with long and tiresome over the phone. In the room I was struck by the fact that the doors to the bathroom and toilet are transparent, this is very uncomfortable. The room itself was nice and pleasant, but as far as amenities were concerned, it was just very basic and austere. Basically there is a bed and nothing else.
