    Pros +

    • the staff was very nice. The swimming pool made the children were very happy .
    • Staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We stayed in a duplex family room, which was a great size and looked out onto the pool area. The pool is a nice size with wide steps leading into the pool. Round the pool there were plenty of sun loungers and shade. We pretty much had the pool to ourselves during our stay. Breakfast was a continental breakfast with a good choice of items. There is also plenty of parking. The old town is a beautiful hilltop town and worth a visit, lots of lovely restaurants and is within a 30min stroll from the hotel.
    • The staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent service from reception/bar, breakfast, bicycle rental. Rooms were nice, and spacious, decor needs a little updating but everything was clean. It was a walk away from the train and also the castle. Although the hotel helped get us to the train station in the heat of the day. Overall a really pleasant experience for the little time we stayed there.

    Cons -

    • The value at the breakfast table could have been gretaer.
    • The duplex family room has a steep staircase, which was fine for our grown up ‘kids’, however if you have small children you may want a different style of room. The upstairs part of our bedroom did get pretty warm, we had a fan and air conditioning but we did stay at the end of July with day time temperatures at mid to high 30s.
    • Not much, just perhaps that the decor was a little dated, but that’s not really a big issue, I guess it just adds to the character!

Helpful staff; clean accommodation; good size room & bathroom. Breakfast outside.

A noisy neighbour - not the accommodations fault, from 05:00!!

    9MichaelPosted on: 7-3-2024

Off road parking, breakfast was ok - could have more fruit

The pool needs maintenance, the rooms are very noise transparent to the corridor and the rooms next door and it’s a long way to the old town

It’s an Walking distance to train station and a few restaurants. Longer walk to old city but very doable, if you’re good with walking. The restaurants in the castle/old city were really nice with fantastic views. We loved the sunset from the castle. The hotel Staff is great, they are cheerful and helpful. Rooms are pretty nice, breakfast is continental but the make nice coffee. We rented e-bikes and biked the entire lake which was a highlight.

The shower was small with difficult doors. The rooms are clean but the hallways and smoking areas feel somewhat worn. Walls were thin so you hear other families easily. Bathing caps in the pool is not pleasant for a cooling swim. The area where the hotel is located feels run-down or depressed. Personally, We would not recommend a trip to Castiglione de Lago because it didn’t offer much in the way of Lake access, etc. Other lake towns felt more resort focused.

Very comfortable and not expensive! Very clean and convenient bathroom. Pool looks great.

The interiors are a bit outdated, but very clean and well maintained.

Good to stay overnight on the way to elsewhere. Nice swimming pool, parking right near the hotel or across the rode.

Great place to stay for equestrian competitions. Everything within walking distance. 7 min to the railway station, 10 min to the old town. Very attentive personnel.Served breakfast at 5.00am for us.

Expected better breakfast with more local specialities. But anyway we enjoyed.

Great location, big family room, nice breakfast/good coffee, good location, fun happy hour offering, and really enjoyed the pool

The pool was often a bit murky/not 100% clean and the A/C in the family room was too weak to cool it in the crazy heat

    8AsherPosted on: 6-26-2022

The staff was very warm and accommodating, and made things easy for me when I had to keep altering my dates due to changes in my travel plans. Additionally, Hotel Duca Della Corgna is the kind of place where the staff remembers you and is eager to help with all your needs.

Good size, comfortable room. Kids loved the pool!

    8AmyPosted on: 10-22-2021

The pool was great, parking was across the road but felt safe enough. Air con worked really well

    8FernPosted on: 9-17-2021

Spacious room. Lovely property and grounds.

Room was dated and a bit shabby. Needs renovations. Breakfast had limited offerings unless you were willing to pay extra.

    4JeanPosted on: 9-16-2021

    room : was ok.

Almost everything :- not maintained garden- flowers that were dead- lack of friendliness of staff- breakfast : there was always something missing, not a single day without problems- not clean clothing of staff- faulty toilet, missing towels, no soap...

    9MariaPosted on: 9-6-2021

We had a very nice and huge room with a balcony overlooking the swimming pool. The staff was very kind. There was a good parking place. The breakfast was good, you had to order what you want to have, all was ok.

It was too far from the old town to walk to there and there was no restaurant in the vicinity.

    9AndersPosted on: 7-29-2021

The onsite restaurant was excellent, way better than anything I tried jn the village. I also much enjoyed breakfast, served at the table. Well functioning and not too noisy AC .

The neighbourhood was not exciting, and there was quite some distance to walk to the center, or to the lakefront. On the other hand, it was quite close to the railway station.
