Arena Hotel Waldshut

We had a great stay here. the room was very clean and very well maintained. the location is very convenient with an easy access to everything we needed, a special thanks to Irfan the host. He is a wonderful, friendly and responsible guy! Overall this place is comfortable and great and we would happily come back again! Thank you!

The hotel was exactly what we needed for one night on our bike trip. It is rather nondescript in a commercial area between the twin towns of Waldshut and Tiengen. The managers are extremely friendly and everything was clean. Breakfast was rich. (They ask you to indicate the previous evening if you’ll have breakfast.) We were allowed to take our bikes in the rooms.

Given that it’s a motel, you hear when noisy guests arrive in the night, and probably even smell the cigarettes.

A lot of space. Low cost.

The facility is a bit old

The minimum.A room and a bathroom.If this is all you need, then it serves its purpose.24-hour check-in helps for late-arrivals.Not so formal, but as I said: It's a room.Restaurants and take-aways are fairly close.

There was a stain on the wall.I assume someone threw-up a while ago.Some stain-blocker and a coat of paint would be good.The Wi-Fi was inconsistent.

Breakfast was good, but the location of our room was on the first floor of the inner court of the hotel, where people were smoking, drinking and making noise until late, so getting to sleep early was not an option. Also the cigarette smoke, which came to the room was annoying for a non-smoker. Fits you well if you drink yourself out of your wits and pass out on your bed not hearing anything, but if you're sober and want to sleep well, I wouldn't recommend it.

Communication with owner was good.

It's tucked away behind a sport arena, with nothing really nearby in the way of shops, cafes or restaurants.

Easy to find, parking with space for the van. Haurdryier, tea and coffie. Very OK for the short stay like one night,

I was pleasantly surprised. I was a bit scared after reading all reviews here, but my stay was above expectations. My single room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Good internet connection - was able to use zoom. Even though I was few hours early - the room was ready. I was handed an RFID-chip and went straight to the room. Shower looked new and worked perfectly. Free parking on-site. Great value for money for a single room. I'd definitely come back for a short stay.

The bed could be better. No cloth hangars. Location - in the middle of nowhere. Taxi might be an option for those without a car. I wish their cafeteria was open to drink a tea or coffee, but it wasn't possible. At least there was a kettle and tea bags in the room. The price for a double room is too high compared to a single room. 10-20 Euros would be OK, but at current surcharge - simply uncompetitive.

A simple, but perfectly decent place to stay. At the time of my stay, the place seemed brand new and it was perfectly clean. Just over the border from Switzerland, this place is great value.

There are very few amenities, not even a fridge or a clothes rack. The gravel parking lot is not the best, especially, when wet. There's pretty much nothing in walking distance.

The hotel was not as advertised. In the description, it was said that there was 24 hour check in. That was not the case as I was not able to check in upon arrival. I was left outside in the cold and dark to try to figure out how to check in. I finally found a number to call and was told that someone would meet me in 10 minutes to check in. I had to wait in the parking lot for about 20 min. before I could check in. It was late, cold and dark and I felt unsafe in the area that the hotel is in. There was also no breakfast available as advertised.

Automated chec in so no staff. Keypads to the rooms were faulty. Misinformation! No restaurant or bar. No breakfast available. Dubious nighttime visitors! Rooms were unclean. Other guests were complaining of similar experiences. I know it was booked out of desperation, but…….
