All fine, nice hotel it dated but everything functional. Shower, wifi, room, bed etc all good. Good location 10 min walk to main square and right next to station. Breakfast fine hot bacon and eggs and cereals etc. Ring bell to get in if door shut during reception times when arriving. Key to room also opens front door when going out.
No one about when checking out but no problem i left key on reception desk.
Loved the room, location and staff, breakfast was great. only suggestion would be a ventilation grille in one of the windows... (can be a bit warm and dry air at night)
Clean, friendly staff and convenient.
Steep stairs
Very uncomfortable, wobbly and squeaky bed, no warm water in the bathroom that's full of mold
The bed was small, very wobbly and squeaky so you can't really rest in the room number 9.The bathroom was dirty. Lots of mold on the celling, No warm water so you can't take a shower. Can't sleep there, can't get a shower there, can this even be called a hotel?
Perfect location, right opposite the train station and only a short walk away from the cozy town centre. Rooms had everything we expected, but we especially loved the very comfy bed, the clean bathroom, nice shower and Rituals shower amenities! Our room on the first floor was also very quiet, especially given its location, which was a big plus. The breakfast area in the hotel is very cute and nicely decorated (e.g. the lovely crockery!). When eating breakfast, you have a great view onto the Stationsstraat with its beautiful historical houses. Breakfast itself was wonderful and felt homely, with homemade granola, greek yogurt, but also eggs and good quality bread with all the (Dutch) trimmings possible. The breakfast is serviced in shifts, so you always have that 'boutique' and personable feel, it's never busy!Last but not least, loved the sustainability efforts the hotel is making, which were noticable in our room as well as at breakfast. We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Old Dutch!
Nothing bad to note, but a few things to keep in mind: The hotel reception is not manned between 12:00 and 16:00, so if you happen to arrive within this time, there is no option to leave your luggage behind before you check in. The hotel is very clear about this in their pre-arrival communication, so as long as you keep this in mind when making your travel arrangements this won't be a problem. We arrived just before noon, so we were able to store our luggage at the hotel and enjoyed a nice afternoon in the town centre before checking in.Also, just to note, the main stairs from the first floor to the hotel lobby are quite steep. This is common in the Netherlands, especially in older buildings, but if you have mobility issues, you might want to check with the hotel first before booking.
We arrived earlier than check-in time but they allowed us to drop our lugagge in one of the rooms that was already ready. There is coffee machine that you can get coffee/tea/milk at any time, which is a plus.
Breakfast is good but the area is too small, not a big a deal though, but a bit uncomfortable to get in/off of your chair/table.
Nice staff. Quiet place and good location.
Nice and clean rooms, delicious croissants and hot beverages in breakfast and great hospitality
easy reservation, very friendly staff, safe parking (unfortunately without an EV loading opportunity (except for Tesla's) but that was known by me before I arrived), very very clean, easy to reach location, beautiful street and a good breakfast in a small but cosy breakfast room.
the room was small, dated and the bed too soft to my liking.and it was very noisy in the street in the middle of the night.
I was staying only one night, motorcycle trip. The secure parking was great and worth the extra €15 for peace of mind. The owner, I assume, was very friendly and helpful. The place itself was very clean and I liked the character of the place, decorated with some large photos. The rooms are basic clean and functional. The included breakfast is good, I especially enjoyed the homemade granola. Overall a pleasant stay and I would recommend it.
Great location, and the lady (owner’s Mum) on reception was great. Really helpful and friendly and did a great job for him while he was away ?
Basic accommodation suitable for a single night stopover. Safe storage for cycles. Decent breakfast
Hole in the pillowcase. Bit dated in the decor.
I didn't check in. I can't answer the questions. I cancelled my reservation when I found out it was 40 miles from my destination! Totally miss- represented listing. So much for booking on-line! It was listed in the Middelburg, Netherlands choice of hotels and close to the train station. I was also charged extra for a late check in time because of my train travel schedule. When I arrived in Middelburg the hotel was nowhere to be found near the station nor was the name recognized here in this community. When the property was finally contacted by phone it was determined I couldn't possibly get to a place 40 miles from my destination at the late hour.No refund was made.
Explained everything in previous question. Gave neutral ratings. No photos taken.Survey won't complete.
Lovely staff. Room was clean. Nice bathroom
E xcellent breakfast, good location and easy to find.
Very good idea to offer free coffee and tea with small snacks 24/7 complimentary in the lobby
There was no safe box in the room
Lovely location. Good secure bike storage. Comfortable bed. Nice toiletries.Tea & coffee available free all day.Good choice for breakfast. Was ok for a couple of nights. Beautiful flowers outside.
Room was ok and clean but very basic, although it did have a small fridge.Breakfast was nice but in a small area so was quite cramped. You book a slot which is good but still not a lot of room.More like a b&b than hotel but served us well as there was secure bike storage.
