Hotel Almijara - Mares

The front desk staff were very kind and helpful. The room was large with a balcony. The accommodation was fairly basic but very comfortable. Well located and not too far from the beach!

Amazing location, clean rooms and bathroom. Good view from our balcony although not beach facing.Very close to the beach 250 meters.The town is much more peaceful than nerja or malaga so go here for relaxed and laid back stay.

The "doule bed was 2 separate mattresses on the bed.Parking issue. You have to be lucky to find parking on the beach road. It is free in off-peak season but is paid otherwise.

Cleanliness and breakfast.

A little pricey but considering booking it a few days earlier we didn't expect to have a sea view, so it was a bonus thing for us.

The location was really good, the bed and room were ok, but outdated. The staff were lovely and patient with my potentially insulting attempts at Spanish. Clean enough.

The internet was awful, less than a mb in my room. The air conditioning was rubbish, and made an annoying buzzing sound which would have been bearable if it worked.

Excellent breakfast great value friendly staff

Slight confusion over price. Booked a few days before room only with balcony. I contacted the hotel through Booking. Com to ask if I could decide if I wanted a room with a balcony or terrace on arrival which they agreed. I chose to stay with balcony room and include breakfast but ended up paying more than advertised on Booking.com.

The breakfast was great. The location was two blocks to beach with plenty of near by restaurants.

TV was broken they offered room change after trying new TV but I opted to forego TV.

It is and has been for two decades good value, friendly, clean and a pleasure to stay

for the price we paid it was a lot better than we expecting, also we liked the large room we were given. the breakfast was wonderful.

A perfect location for our needs. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful.

It was useful to have a kettle but there were no milk pods, so black tea or coffee only. We did ask..they didn't supply.

The hotel is in a good location, the excellent windows to the balcony totally kept away the traffic noise, the beds were really comfortable and the whole hotel was spotlessly clean. In addition, all the staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed staying in the hotel.

The lovely roof terrace and bar was not open which was a shame because it is such a lovely terrace to relax on with a drink and a book.

Parking is tricky but not a major problem

Great location, so close to the beach and lots of restaurants. We travelled with the alas bus from Malaga and the bus stop is very close to the hotel. Very clean and spacious for two people. Our room included a balcony.

Only complaint was the double bed was two single beds together.

Great position, lovely staff and very clean

Hairdryer provided not powerful enough and cut out when overheated so unable to dry hair fully.

We have used this hotel every year for at least 10 years. It is well placed and always friendly

Very friendly staff, great rooms and near to centre

Breakfast is excellent for a 3 star hotel. The rooms are big and very clean and the balcony is a bonus.

Parking is a problem here and in La Herradura generally.

Excellent value for money. Super helpful staff and the rooms were great. The location of the hotel is also fantastic.
